- In all the 20 years I have been studying and rescuing king cobras in Agumbe, this remarkable male that I rescued on the 31st of March surprised me. While the average weight for males falls between 3.5 to 6 Kg and for females between 2 to 3.5 Kg, this massive king cobra weighed a whopping 12.5kg! Everything about this king cobra was huge in weight, length, and girth. Such rescues instil hope that king cobras of such size thrive in these regions, largely due to people's tolerance and the prey base they have access to. The best we can do is to ensure that these forests and animals continue to exist. Let's pledge to preserve our forests
the real expert who makes a difference .Not youtube wildlife celebrities
Just like Cobra Prince Philippines!
Great work
Cool big cobra 🐍😊
Anacondish cobra...
The way you capture the King Cobra is very gentle and meticulous, that's why the cobra is not agitated and not fighting, unlike other snake hunter here in YT. Commended. Great display of expertise.
Thank you. Thats point. I want to show how a king cobra can/should be handled gently and never stress or harass the snake in the pretext of rescue.
Beautiful king cobra , too many humans taking up their space. At least you rescued him from harm, well done 🙏.
Humans actually promotes cobra and other snake population around their villages where there are plenty of rats, domestic animals which becomes its preys. Piles of garbage are ideal habitat.
It's population pressure on land.
What a big boy! You do an absolutely incredible work for preservation of Ophiophagus. We clearly see here that the animal is never agressive but defensive and your technique of the bag is probably the best. It is just here a little to small for this king size. All the best and big big congrats for your field work.
May be he too didn’t anticipated that huge size😅 hence medium bag size
thank you.
@@bharatbshetty Yes, i din't expect him to be that huge 🙂
Snakes are beneficial to farms, they keep the rodent population in check. Although venomous snakes are fearsome, they seldom attack unprovoked. And in the rare case they do bite a human, it’s mainly a dry bite, no venom is used because humans are not prey. Fear and greed drives us to exterminate animals.
King cobra doesnt eat rodent. they eat snakes
@@paxcssr not necessarily., rodents are a big part of a snakes prey!
@@shamdoundyakhed5314 king cobra eats snakes. Not rodent. Its thier diet. Google it.
@@shamdoundyakhed5314Not all snakes eat rodents!!
@@shamdoundyakhed5314Rat snakes eat rats and king cobras eat rat snakes!
There is a reason why they are called king cobra.
Bcuz they eat other snakes.
1:54 back side sister be like ಒಡ್ರೋ ಒಡ್ರೋ ಒಡ್ರೋ..... ಇದು ಸರ್ಜಾ ಅಡ್ಡ 😂😅
May God bless you for rescuing and relocating such a grand serpent!!!
Thank you
Such a beautiful humble and polite creature by God.Save and conserve it.
Am watching you guys from Philippines we hame a king Cobra also in Philippines but not really super size
Thats nice. Some day I want to visit Philippine islands to see your king cobras.
Surely the most intelligent species on the planet, not to mention the most magnificent snake you will ever encounter.
They have a way of allowing humans to interact with them!
Great rescue and release, love your channel! 🙏🙏
that's a big snake alright, even for a king cobra. there is something special about them, when they stand up and look at whoever dares to be near them... 🐍
absolutely agree
Love from kolkata
The King Cobra stare is majestic, the look it owns is something.
Thanks for your service to the Universe Sir. Good karma will come back …
Congratuletions, god work , u saludo desde Málaga, Andalucía, Spain.😊
Gotta be at least 16-17',but his girth is the most amazing thing .jeez!
Yes, Girth is amazing. He was 15 ft.
Not once did the King Cobra strike at Dr. Gowri Shankar! What a beautiful, intelligent snake. I am originally from Karnataka, the land of King Cobras!. Thank you brother, for your dedication in protecting our wildlife🙏
Lately all rescuers are rescueing the LARGEST king cobra😂😂 while almost all fully grown king cobras are of handsome size.
Amazing snake, good work!
What do you mean rescued? 😂
He is in human habitation, both humans and snake is rescued in this situation. Should we call this operation something else? Suggestions please?
@@gowrikalinga I get you. I just feel like humans were rescued. 😂 Look at the beast 😮
In Mysore snake shyam and Surya keerthi
My goodness, what a beautiful specimen! Excellent job chaps! Keep up the good work! Cheers from South Africa. 🇿🇦
Big Boy🔥
You are more professional than Suresh to catch king cobra.you know why ? The way you catch and not playing cobra
What was the length ?
Also how far away from habitation do these get released ? At any point in that region we have someone's house or field or similar right. So wont it come back to human contact again?
He was 15 ft. I release within 4-6 sq km in radius. That is their home range which we found out using radio telemetry study.
no show boating.that's why i like this guy
💯
The one which I saw at my place ( NE India, Mizoram was much bigger than that... It's completely black with a lil bit white stripe
Great expertise. Please speak english in-between. So, that we can understand. It seems u r a Malayali. Anyway Great
ನಮ್ಮ ಮಲೆನಾಡು Cobra🪱
Such a Majestic snake and the most poisonous but still it's just trying to get away and not attack the person trying to catch it. It's the King..
beautiful creature. attitude towards snakes of locals is highly appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Awesome video, former Bangalorean, brought back memories of cobras near my house. Thank you for your work. How do i contribute to your organization?
Hello Srinivas, Thank you for your kind words. Please check our website www.kalingafoundation.org/donate/ for more details for contribution

I'am a avid viewer of snake rescues. Yes you are right, this is the biggest I viewed ever in all videos. Good job. 💪
Thanks
He's too big for that pipe xD
Also he made your snake handling tools look tiny xD Good job!
God bless you sir 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🕉🙏🙏🙏🙏
Now that is truly a... KING ...🙏 Beautiful Godly looking Specimen...!!!
What a beautiful snake..
wow great work
The King was so gentle and quiet. I've normally seen Cobras get all kinds of agitated when on rescues
mejastic
come to kalimantan
Hi Dr. Gowri. How do you know that the snake is not nesting or laid eggs in the area? If they have, wouldn’t relocating them cause a problem?
Good job i see other you tubers playing around with the snake just pissing the snake off ,thankyou for showing care and respect.
Great job, guys! Thank you for doing this.
The snake cooperated quite well, it didnt resist or fight at all.
It probably knew it was being recused.
Great job
Beautiful animal
Love your work sir, I am a huge fan of snakes!
Thank you.
Hi sir i am watching your video first time, it is very nice to see you the way you handling it!
Salute
I would love to attend some resque calls with you, how could i?
Yes, it seems that it is really the biggest "King cobra" I saw in snake rescue videos.
Hat's off sir
In Thailand if you see a king cobra it is considered lucky. 😀
what a beauty
What cobra species is this? Is this a Malaysian king cobra ??
King cobras eat other snakes right? So that big boy must’ve been eating a lot!
This is not largest. Watch Vava Suresh videos. He is one man army. He simply catches the King without using any stick.
Vava Suresh is a Dearning Devil 👿 ❤❤❤❤
You say its not largest ? How many kings have you seen? I can make out you are a big fan of your one man army...sorry to say...I study and rescue these snakes, your one man army harasses them, its not called rescue. Him catching the king without using any stick is stupidity, I call that suicidal.
thank you.... nothing to tell you more.... Take care and prayers
great job
Your bag and pipe far too small for such a large reptile compared to the one it was hiding in 😂
huge and fast and venomous deadly combination
Sir from how far you release those from the place they are caught?
amazing sir
Dhanyavadham
Even if onr dosent go there, it'll eventually drift away!!! It's NOT interested in meeting us!! Great work!!!
Not to be obscure but does the guy with the snake have a third appendage 😮😮😮
Wonderful sir.....frm ujjain mp
Who r watching while toilet sitting.
Not largest guti....... don't misguide
Can you please add subtitles?
The snake was a khangress neta in past life.
wow nice❤
How many years old king.
Truely majestic figure.
Hi Gowri shankar. Nice to find your channel and connect after 16 years when we had visited your research station in Agumbe.
That snake is one hell of a big daddy. Awesome specimen. Happy to see their kind thriving
Hey Mahesh, thanks. Good to see your message.
How many years old king
Kevin and Thor are that big.
Magnificent creature beautiful ❤
Awesome work. 👌
Just one thing, try to put the snake in the plastic container as that way the serpent wouldn't be able to bite through the bag. Just want you guys to be very safe. That's all. 😊
Thank you very much, I appreciate your concern.
