Aku gory continuing to be a shit even after all the powercreep is just so annoying. I was playing the last XP Bonanza stage today and I have a rush strat with Saito that allows me to beat the stage in under a minute. Aku Gory fucking killed Saito with a savage blow right when I spawned him and made me restart. Incredible how one enemy can continue to be a bane in the face of a dying meta.
Aku Gory merely built off the framework of an already-existing nightmare enemy, Angelic Gory. All they had to do was give him an occasional Savage Blow to rip through your units even more.
Everything going good till you see that blue guy and hear WHAM! WHAM! WHAM! I remember a Japanese comment, the only words I could make out were ‘gory’, ‘20%’ and ‘100%’ and I honestly agree with him
It was Angel Gory on his time the main annoying threat you didn't want to deal, but angels eventually got powercreeped... But this mf came out and now days is still a pain in the ass. sometimes.
This stage was a real pain, I didn't have Doron or Corn but then I got Royal Guard TF, still suffered but he made a huge difference and I winned. Royal Guard is the best (and Saki)
I've made it up to this very floor without much Uber carry and I don't have doron, I could get him but I'm on like literally the chapter after depths of my hearts and I really do not want to rush all of ul for that, is there any doron less alternative or like just anything in general? If not I'll just Uber carry this level with whatever I have but kinda stinks (only levels I've really used ubers for for infernal tower were floor 40 and 47 (and 47 was only for the very satisfactory balrog start, think I could do it without ubers no problem))
I'm in the same sub chapter as ul as you are, and I've gotten to floor 30 of infernal tower without much issue but I am really afraid of the 42-47 stages as those gave me alot of trouble in heavenly tower, I'm debating just rushing ul to get doron before continuing but are there any units you would recommend for those levels, I don't mind ubercarrying
@alberto4697 for specific one-uber alternatives, i know dark phono is a perfect sub in for doron, so long as you defend him well. using vigler/lasvoss for their research combos allow rock to reacha 2 second cooldown and permastall yulala if your timing is spot on, but you will need some help for the aku gories. a strong gravolodon can do well too, provided you protect him from masked grandmaster and aku gories. if worst comes to worst, i think you can balrog chain yulala at the start, so long as you get rid of the first aku gory. thats all i know.
@thecreativy2260 doron doesnt really help in the tower outside of floors 40, 49 and 50, but floor 49 is a roadblock if you dont have specific ubers. as for getting to doron, i rushed ul myself a little while ago, and i beat most levels with triple research and royal guard, rock, courier, slime, and 1 flex slot. of course, this doesnt work for stuff like r ost levels or metal levels, but just keeping the lineup confined to triple research and working with the 5 slots you have is the easiest and quickest way to go about it

I just had the same idea, Infernal Tower is now truly mid UL friendly
As a pre-URS player at floor 45 I guarantee every enemy has been unfriendly to me (they all tried to kill me :( )
