Does insurance count as mandatory or subjective in order to get enrolled in US? It's haunting me just to think about bad things that can possibly happen during enrollment like sick, lost, car accident, the medical bills etc
Some schools may require it or offer insurance packages to students who don't have one! For example, UC Berkeley has SHIP (Student Health Insurance Plan) that students can pay to get insurance coverage. You can read more about it here - uhs.berkeley.edu/ship/. So don't be too worried about bad things happening, as you could get insured in the US if you wanted to. Hope that helps!
Hey Rachel! Loved the content! I had just one request If you could please make a video on how international students can get financial aid or scholarships to Berkeley and to other good colleges! Also, if you know an international student who got in on a merit based scholarship , please make a video on that too I'd really really appreciate it cause I'm trying hard to get into one of the good schools there Thanks so much :) Love from india❤️

Kennesey Ldl hi Kennesey, thanks for watching! For all of my “interview” videos, like this one, the graduate student advice and out of state student videos, all of the students featured are people I know personally from Berkeley, whether it’s through work, class, or clubs! For this video, I know Derek and Sparsh from freshman year, Henry and I work together as tour guides, and Guillermo and I met in class! 😋
Hi Rachel, it was a lovely video. I have a question! I graduated from at accounting University of finance and economics in my home country in 2019. Right now, I'm an ESL student and live in San Francisco. I still want to study. But I don't know what degree I will earn a bachelor's or master's degree. What do you think should I earn which degree? if you have time, please give me a piece of advice! Thank you so much
Congratulations! Was your degree from university a bachelors degree? Since you’ve studied finance and economics already, you may be interested in business school in the United States! If you already have a bachelors degree, then you could apply for MBA Business programs. An MBA would be a graduate school program. Hope this helps! Let me know if you had any other questions! 😁
@@odontsetsegerkhembayar8763 of course! Since you already have a bachelors degree, you would apply to graduate programs: so like a Masters or PhD. Additionally, you could apply to law school, medical school, or business school!
Congratulations on getting accepted!! 🥳 For tuition, most students apply for scholarships or take out loans. We just hosted a Study Hall College Consulting event where we had an international student on the panel named Barbara, you can check out that video and hear her advice, here: th-cam.com/video/U8YEfkSYOuw/w-d-xo.html. There is a specific question asking how you are paying for college time stamped and Barbara answers! Hope this helps! ☺️
I intend to join for undergrad program for business administration at Berkeley how can I do that I mean what's the process to apply for business administration if you could tell me step by step or male a video on it? Thank you also please note I'm an international student
Hi Nowsheen! To apply into the undergraduate business major at Berkeley, you would apply to UC Berkeley regularly, then once you are already a student here, in your sophomore year at Berkeley you would apply into Haas (our graduate business school, that offers undergraduate programs). During your freshman and sophomore year at Berkeley, you would take 4 pre-requisite courses: math, statistics, economics, and business. During the fall of your sophomore year, you would apply into Haas, which is like an essay application. In the spring of your sophomore year, you would hear back whether you are accepted or not. If you are accepted into the program, then your junior and senior year you would take Haas courses and graduate from Berkeley with a Business Administration degree from Haas. Haas also offers some undergraduate business programs where you would apply directly into from high school, which you can check out at their website, here: haas.berkeley.edu/Undergrad/. Mostly though, students who are interested in business apply during their sophomore year as I described above. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!
@@rachel_linThank you so much! Also what if I don't get into Haas? I'm a business major student currently doing A levels so my only option is Business Administration and if I apply during the sophomore year what should I take in the freshman year? Also what's the admission process like for international students? I hope I'm not bothering you 😶
Thanks for watching, glad it was helpful!! Your major is the field of study you get your bachelors degree in! So like if you majored in Computer Science, you would graduate with a degree in computer science. Hope that makes sense!
I asked Derek and he said yes, it can be harder to gain internships as international students because of VISA issues, but he has seen people gain US summer internships, so it is not impossible. Hi yes! In order to apply to any of the UCs you would need to fulfil the A-G requirements through high school coursework or outside testing like SAT/ACT/SAT Subject Tests or AB/IB exams. You can see the requirements here and how to fulfill them: admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/admission-requirements/freshman-requirements/subject-requirement-a-g.html. Hope this helps!
@@rachel_lin do I have to take all the SAT subject tests on that website to complete all the requirements if the education system in my country is very different?
@@alfredsalad814 This website has information for the requirements for international students - admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/admission-requirements/international-applicants/applying-for-admission/. Additionally, the College Board is no longer offering SAT Subject Tests, so you wouldn’t have to take those to fulfill the requirements. This site has more information about the cancellation of SAT subject tests. Hope this helps! 😄
