Abuse between a man and a woman is everyone's right to discuss in our society because it's all and WE are all interconnected. Being a celebrity who is in an abusive situation spotlights this for us and allows us to have a very real dialogue about the issue - what do we think about it? How does it happen? How do we want genders to treat eachother? What is right and what is not right? The need to address these questions is what makes it our business.

I'm a psychology major, and one of the first things we were taught about abusive people, is never to let them use their past as an excuse for their behavior. There is no excuse for abusing someone, ever. I agree he needs counseling, but growing up in an abusive house hold is never an excuse. My dad was beaten by his mother and watched his father nearly beat his mother to death. He doesn't beat me or my mother. So, abusive upbringing is not an excuse.

Our speech and demeanor can change up depending on the situation, its why we can adapt easily to diverse situations.
