Nice one! There are some great whistle players out there -- who have you been listening to?

Thanks for the reminder about picking out the tricky spots in tunes and focusing on them. It's so much easier (and more enjoyable, but only in the short term) to just steamroll them to have the enjoyment of making it through a tune. ;)

@@HannahHarrisCeol I watched a video from someone recently who made the argument that *especially* when you're learning something new, you should take it slow and do your best to get it just right first time though. The logic was along the lines of "Your brain is constantly forming its neural pathways so get it right from the start. and don't incorporate the bad learning." I'm not a neuroscientist but the logic seems totally sound to me. That being said, it's very satisfying to get a tune in your head or get a piece of sheet music out and to just have a bash at it - kinda "I totally got this - let 'er rip!" ;) It makes me glad, music is all about fun to me and not a career. ;)

@@keithlazarus8416 that makes total sense! Do you remember what the video was? I'd love to watch it. Of course there's always the situation where you're taking it slow/taking baby steps but it's holding you back from just going for it and making progress that way. Always a tricky thing to navigate, but you're right -- it's what makes it fun!
