Yeah, I've been drooling over those cases for a long time too. Been wanted between 2 and 4 of them to outfit my overlander, but, ooh, the price! These are the best though. They're about 30% thicker aluminum than their competitors. Nice!

Are you saying they’re 30% thicker than the ALU box? Eventually, I want to get my hands on one to do a side-by-side comparison video.

@@EvergreenOverland I don't remember exactly what brand, but that sounds familiar. Yes, the others were 2 mil thick and Zarges were 3 mil. Watching another Zarges video now!

Great video. Did Zarges replace the case? Oops, just finished the video. Great to hear they stood behind their product.

They did but the next one has the same gap. I talked to their quality control department and was satisfied with the answer but it is normal to have this. I am going to hit it with a little lexel sealant and call it good. Thanks for watching

@@EvergreenOverland Just started to looking into cases and a little disappointed with that gap. Might look at Alubox instead. Appreciate the video

The case is not designed to be sealed, they need to clip the corner of the sheetmetal at the end of the overlap so only 1 layer goes into the rolled edge. A little in consistency in lining up the panels may result in that triangular hole. I used to modify these to transport space hardware and one of the things we did was seal all the seams with 3M 2216 epoxy and add a filter breather. If you go out of your way to make it tightly sealed, it might start to crush itself if you do a big downhill descent.

Do you happen to know what the pressure relief valve was or part number?

It’s currently $200 more $659, since this post and for those wondering, they list it in cubic inches 7361.0 IN3 which is 120 liters.

Kinda crazy you can’t sit on it or step on it without messing the top up. Think I’d add a 1/2 or 3/4 inch ply for a top.

I would improve that with hydraulic lift for the lid for that price.

I’ve considered it but it would just end up taking up space on the inside for me. Totally encourage anybody else to DIY and improve in anyway they see fit. Thanks for watching Li
