I like all these commenters saying tenor is easier than alto, and they've never even played one. You have an amazing sound for your age. Definitely don't stop playing. Good cover.
@HolyGeorgiaTV If you haven't already figured it out, the notes are B, Bb, Ab, F#, E, Eb, F#, Ab, F#,E,Eb,C# Eb x2 F# Ab F# Eb, Eb, Eb, C#, B That's the first part good luck in playing it
I had a similar problem when I just started playing. Coming from clarinet, my sound on sax was very small and constrained. I find that to open up your sound, try relaxing your jaw more, don't pull in your lower lip so much, and take in more mouthpiece. Of course, everyone has their own embouchure, but these are just some general tips. If you're looking for a bright sound, a high baffled mouthpiece would help too. Keep trying!
@HolyGeorgiaTV Thanks! Sorry though I did it all by ear, and I don't really know how to transfer sheet music to youtube anyways. You can try doing it by ear too, just listen to the song a lot, and work out small parts, this song is pretty repetitive. Good Luck!
anyone want to give me tips on how to get that jazz sound? I love this song and cud prolly play it but i cant get the sound out like this kid ! hes amazing!
I've played both, and I found the alto much easier. The Tenor is my main instrument, and it just has a crisper sound. I love Tenor over Alto, but Alto is much easier.
Anyone who thinks tenor is easier than alto is ridiculous. Tenor requires much more lung strength and jaw control. Alto has much faster fingerings and blows a lot easier.
