Ive genuinely have been enjoying myself experiencing these stories/songs with you guys along for the ride and its become some of my favorite moments of the day! Honestly you don’t even have to listen to our recommendations because the truth is that Ren has no bad song. Any pick is a good pick 😅 But yeah it can be a little overwhelming perhaps when you realise what a big back catalogue he has. Plus everything with the band too 😅
There a great Justin Hawkins interview with Ren. He had a deal with Sony but got so sick it got dropped. Interview really helped me see where his art comes from.
The more you hear from Ren and ALL his collaborations, the more you love him. Honestly, you keep thinking you can't love him any more, and then you hear the next song and BANG, there you go. ❤
Also, I know a lot of people describe The Big Push as Ren’s band, but they made a point of highlighting that they had three front men and a drummer. They rotated through Ren, Gorran, and Romain when it came to vocals, guitar, bass etc. Ren gets quite a bit of the attention, but all three guys are insanely talented.
For sure! I just know only Ren out of this band 😅 and i JUST discovered him last week lol. But I am hearing that all of them are INSANELY talented individuals in their own right. I gotta check out some of their stuff as well! But for a first time exposure of the full ensemble, not bad!

He got so skinny and weak when he was at his breaking point...you can see him looking bad in "crutch". He was embarrassed how weak he was and made a goal he would never get that way again. So puking and weak he still worked out. He got his stem cell replacement in 2016 or so and worked out like an animal. Music 60% and working out 40%. His diet is down to about 6 foods, 2 types of beef and 4 types of veggies or so. Looks to me like he is like 2% body fat if that. Illest of our time shows how shredded his body is. As a female I can very much appreciate the view. That is all his body can handle from the autoimmune disease so it is a histamine paleo diet he is on.
He's talked about neurological damage from the untreated Lyme. I don't know if it really is similar, but I know a few people who have had concussions, & they all said the better shape they are the more emotionally stable they feel. One of them went on to explain a blood flow thing, which I can't remember. I think it helps him feel physically strong & probably contributes to his mental health as well. In any case, I just really hope he feels healthy much more often than he doesn't especially once this round of treatments in Canada is finished.
So many of Ren/The Big Push's tracks are going to leave you like 'How is this so completely different than everything else I've heard from him, and yet still so good?' Every other favorite artist of mine has at least a few tracks that I think are only so so. With Ren, after probably a few dozen or about, the baseline is great, then goes upto amazing.

Blind Eyed ft. Sam Tompkins at Music Crowns will not disappoint. Stellar duo! They also play an acoustic version in a parking garage, even hassled by the security during the song as they keep walking and singing. amazing sound reflections in this one take version. Both are worth a watch
Ren had undergone stem cell transplant at that point, which drastically changed his appearance. Then it failed while they were touring. There’s videos of him passing out briefly during busking gigs. He never hit the ground, but it was probably close. 💜 ETA: when you get to the Marley/Dead Prez medley from that day, that was the “massage before kicking them in the teeth.” 😂

Romain Axisa (the lead guitarist here) has a lot of solo stuff on his own YT channel - highly recommend you checking it out as well. It's amazing. This whole set (with Ren in rthe red suspenders) is a must react to - the others are I Shot the Sheriff/ Road to Zion/Hip Hop which was performed before War Pigs. The set finished with their original song Watch Out and finished with Paint It Black. The vibe and the crowd were going mental by the end.

Every song and performance by the Big Push is next level amazing. They are fearless, happy to experiment, play any genre and as close to the Beatles as any band I know - 3 hyper talented singer songwriters playing guitar and the drummer who knits it all together - ring any bells ? Their original stuff stands up to that level too - and with Ren involved, the video concepts are of course superb.
You need to get down the Ren rabbit hole. Sooooo much more you ain’t heard. Seen live many times…. The man is a genius of our time. Look for some rare gigs with his sister in Brighton…just soo good.
Ren is so good in so many genres. He's got a couple of tracks with Eden Nash, "Humble" and "Ocean," that have a bit of a reggae/ska vibe. They're great as just about any collaboration Ren has done. He finds such talented people to work with; it's impressive.
The energy of this band is just insane. It is so obviously just 4 (insanely talented) friends getting together for a good time. And yeah, not sure there is anything Ren can’t do 😅 I think the only thing I haven’t heard from him is some full on metal screams/growls, but I have a feeling that even if he has never done it, he would just learn and master that as well if he decided to 😂 Fucking beast. @@xRAGECXRCUSx There are 2 versions. Make sure you do "I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/ hip hop" first. When there are 2 versions of a song you can almost always pick the one with the most views first and not get into trouble. You can react to both but Ren fans tend to want to see the duplicate songs in a particular order. When you get to the Chinchilla collaborations ALWAYS go with the LIVE versions first. The exception is when you do "1990s" do the the "(OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO)" first, not the "(LIVE RECORDING)" even though the live one has slightly more views. I know, it gets confusing, but you're doing great!
Well, this is the second video of yours that I've watched. Had to hit that subscribe button. I've been jamming TheBigPush/Ren for years upon years, turned a many of friends on to them. It's absolutely criminal it has taken this long for the World Fame to kick in. Every single member of the band is a World Class Artist in their own right. Great choice!!! Absolutely love this busking session! Sooo glad it was caught on video for us to enjoy! But, like you, I am so fucking jealous that I was not there! I will be following you down Ren’s rabbit hole! So many gems to find. Ren is incredibly versatile and he is in his own lane. The bonus is that he surrounds himself with other talented artists! The Big Push phenomenal! Romain Axisa is also a fabulous guitarist and vocalist and is really talented as well.
The Big Push Bongo Bong and Wade in the water/Nina Simone/Trouble so hard are my absolute favorites, also I shot the sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop is a must of course -he´s brilliant, and so are the other guys in the band as well, they just make you feel so good ❤ they are what music is all about!

I love your reactions so much. You mentioned that he was in good shape & how they hadn't been recognized before. Sony had signed them (The Big Push) & he kept pushing himself (trying to convince himself he was fine) then his illness got the better of him and Sony & him separated amicably because he physically couldn't tour so shortly after he had to move in with his mom & was bed ridden for about a year. He's got a heartbreaking vlog video of him about 9 days before he released Hi Ren. You may want to check it out. I love that there's no auto-tune bs. I'm loving your journey, keep it up, man! He's like Christma morning under a Ren Christmas tree. 😂
Actuality it was the band Trick the Fox at the time Sony picked them up. On 2 January 2016, Ren's debut solo album Freckled Angels was released. The self-released album contained 16 tracks, including around half of the tracks recorded for the Trick The Fox album. Eric Appapoulay gave Ren permission to use them.
That same set has 4 songs that rock like that. I Shot The Sheriff, Watch Out(original). And Paint it Black. Are you ready for his duet with Chinchilla? CHALK OUTLINES OR How to be me!
Just when you think you know what Ren is, he comes in with something to show you that nope, he won't be categorised. 😂 If you want completely different range again, on Losing It he raps over an old EDM track. The Big Push cover of Fatboy Slim's Praise You is entirely different again. Basically you can tell us what genre you want to see him do and we can probably give you a song to fit!

Damn, I can see how tricky it is being a reactor now because you can’t just go down the rabbit hole yourself. You have to pick carefully and broadcast everything. So here’s my suggestion: REN’s, Crucify Your Culture. Why? Because you clearly like guitars and appreciate RATM. Crucify has that. It’s Ren’s stab at mixing the RATM & zack de la rocha sound with his own rap cultural message. So give that one a go. Unless some can point you to a heavy big push cover, I don’t think you’re going to find much with a metal influence. Basically, the older stuff of REN’s catalogue is more experimental. Right now, his sound is all geared up for his Sick Boi (rap) album release.

It's absolutely criminal it has taken this long for the World Fame to kick in. Every single member of the band is a World Class Artist in their own right. The Big Push Bongo Bong and Wade in the water/Nina Simone/Trouble so hard are my absolute favorites, also I shot the sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop is a must of course -he´s brilliant, and so are the other guys in the band as well, they just make you feel so good ❤ they are what music is all about!

I love your reactions so much. You mentioned that he was in good shape & how they hadn't been recognized before. Sony had signed them (The Big Push) & he kept pushing himself (trying to convince himself he was fine) then his illness got the better of him and Sony & him separated amicably because he physically couldn't tour so shortly after he had to move in with his mom & was bed ridden for about a year. He's got a heartbreaking vlog video of him about 9 days before he released Hi Ren. You may want to check it out. I love that there's no auto-tune bs. I'm loving your journey, keep it up, man!

Actuality it was the band Trick the Fox at the time Sony picked them up. On 2 January 2016, Ren's debut solo album Freckled Angels was released. The self-released album contained 16 tracks, including around half of the tracks recorded for the Trick The Fox album. Eric Appapoulay gave Ren permission to use them.

Damn, I can see how tricky it is being a reactor now because you can’t just go down the rabbit hole yourself. You have to pick carefully and broadcast everything. So here’s my suggestion: REN’s, Crucify Your Culture. Why? Because you clearly like guitars and appreciate RATM. Crucify has that. It’s Ren’s stab at mixing the RATM & zack de la rocha sound with his own rap cultural message. So give that one a go. Unless some can point you to a heavy big push cover, I don’t think you’re going to find much with a metal influence. Basically, the older stuff of REN’s catalogue is more experimental. Right now, his sound is all geared up for his Sick Boi (rap) album release.
