Awesome Ep and break down on costs and great advise guys, I love the Cape my next trip up towing up my 5m tinny to around Weipa camping and fishing and relaxing for 4 to to 8 weeks will be my 22rd trip up in 42 years, My favourite place on the Aussy mainland
Thank you Craig, it was my 3rd and Ally’s first and we really enjoyed it, we look forward to returning. Maybe I can talk her into a little detour on our way back from the NT next year
Thanks guys for an awesome break up of the Cape. The tips of maintenance are great. I’m planning my trip and have plotted your trip as a guide. Definitely will be making sure everything is serviced properly before I head off.
Our pleasure! we loved the Cape and wish we could have stayed longer but it was starting to heat up, but couple of cool drinks while relaxing in the water at Fruit Bat Falls fixes everything.
That was one of the most informative ones yet S&A. Been waiting for that one forever. I worked it out at 30 cents roughly per klm for fuel? Does that sound right? Wouldn't it be great if you could work out costing per klm for everything? hahahaha. That would be nice to see Thanks again for a great video. Seems to be getting better every time. I laughed when Steve said grab a cold drink and settle in for around 20 minutes........ I already guessed it would go longer with your INFO video. Best 43 minutes I spent today ;)
Thank you were happy you enjoyed it, we really enjoyed the Cape. I think your fairly close with your calculations, I worked it out to be about 34 cents.
Another rippa vid without the hype and ads. Thanks for all the info Travelling in September, did you have to book Seisha camp area at the tip? What was security like, as I've heard things can go missing. Subbed
Thank you. September was a beautiful time to be on the Cape. We rang ahead about 3-4 days out to sus the availability in Seisha and we had no trouble getting onto an unpowered site. The Seisha campgrounds had a 24 hour a day roving security patrol along with the odd visit from police, we had no problems at all. I think just a common sense approach. Make sure all your gear locked away etc when not in use and you should be fine. We spent most of our days touring around the cape and felt quite safe every where we went. Hope this helps
Lots of information as my wife and I are doing the Cape in September 24 we have a Nissan Patrol and a brand new off road hybrid van busy planning the trip now lots of things to do to car and van it's a long way from Adelaide we are going to daughters home in Beenleigh QLD and straight up the coast lots of friends and family to see on way cheers legends 😄
We are about to head up the for a caretaking gig during the wet. We were worried about taking the van but you have alleviated our concerns somewhat. Thanks for the information, it has been extremely helpful
The bitumen road goes almost all the way to the Hann River Roadhouse, from memory when you get about 8km out you’ll start to drive on the gravel roads. As you head towards the top from Hann River the road changes between gravel and bitumen several times. We set our tyre pressure to 30PSI and didn’t have to many problems. We had a few screws rattle loose etc but overall nothing serious. Just drive to the conditions and you should be fine. Hope this helps Steve
@@simonannells3758 hi mate, yes there is but only in certain communities, we had beer and spirits and every where we went was fine from memory the majority of the restrictions were in specific places and it’s very well sign posted

Great information, thanks, how easy was it to get water on the road free parking?
No worries we really happy you enjoyed our video
hi guys thanks for the vid what tyre pressures did you run in the van
we ran the car and van at 30psi for our entire trip on the cape, if I went back tomorrow I would even try 25 psi all round
Can you advise where the bitumen ends and the dirt track starts?
