This storyline got me feeling all kinds of ways. Damn, never felt so bad for a character in a show. Poor Rana.

Firstly, the writing for the last week was a bit shoddy due to it being plot driven rather then character driven. This is deliberate so they can move onto the next phase of Kana's story which is possibly the most important because it is all about Rana's journey into accepting herself, loving herself and believing that she is worthy of love basically. Before that though is turmoil, so they need Rana to be completely isolated and alone. This is impossible if Kate is in the picture so sadly the character of Kate was thrown a little under the bus to facilitate their plan. Good plan but crap execution.
Kate has always been loved and validated by her family, she's never been confused over her sexuality or had any issues that we know of from others because of it. One of their conflicts has always been that Kate cannot empathise with Rana's situation in terms of coming out.
And that's the thing, Kate did not get what she wanted which was to have an open and loving relationship with Rana. Rana didn't come out to Zeedan, so Kate may feel like she's still ashamed of their love or that Rana is still not ready to come out. Rana really isn't ready and so Kate & Rana cannot be together until Rana is ready, until she knows and loves who she is.
Secondly, Rana didn't tell Zeedan in order to be with Kate, she told him to absolve herself if the guilt, to stay with him and to fix it. Another kick in the teeth for Kate.
Like Kate said on Wednesday, it physically hurts her to see Rana with Zeedan. It was already over between them and yet Rana still wanted to be mates. Kate can't do that. She's suffering in her own way.
From this week onwards Kate will think that Rana is moving on with Zeedan so she'll do the same, try to move on with Sophie. Kate will be completely in the dark over Rana's situation and how horrid it is.
BUT when she finds out, I reckon she will be crushed, guilty and heart broken, even helpless over it. They'll find a way back together. Rana is pissed at Kate a bit at the moment anyway so she won't seek her out either. Kate hates herself for hurting people, that's why she told Rana that she had to tell him because she knows they both hurt people they care about.
Side note, the official Corrie twitter account today said that 'Rana told Kate to stay away'. We were all like whaaaat? Because we did not see this did we? So there you go.

Agreed. Yasmeen clocked that, took notes, and put a pin in it. I think Alyas needs however were her focus. If anything she saw Rana's face and figured Zeedan would comfort her.

I'm hoping that last look of remorse from Zee right at the end will make him realise how bloody vile he is being. He obviously will still love Rana so hopefully he'll be able to put his pride aside to stop her hurting so much. We can only hope anyway!

Imran means well... he just can't seem to grasp what the reality of living a lie for an entire year would be like. From a business stand point the deal make sense, but from a human perspective? it's barbaric. i'm hoping he comes to realise this soon because i'm sick of everyone guilt tripping rana. i don't think she owes zeedan a business but everyone is acting like that's the *least* she owes him. it's terribly unfair, and Imran pressing it, even in the nicest way possible is wrong.

This part is possibly the most important part. As I always say, the storyline is really about Rana, not Kana.

This is the most disgusting story line they could’ve come up with.
This just proves zeedan never truly from his heart loved rana at all his true colours are coming out now. He only loved rana for her body, sexiness, beauty but not for who she is as a person never has accepted her for who she is. This man zeedan only cares & loves about money, business his not a husband to rana at all and his willing to let rana's dad sell her to him for a business deal than genuinely trying to forgive and fix his marriage with rana. Kate Oates was bang on right in her interview back in September/October that even tho rana & Z are married now but zeedan is so not the one for rana, his not a natural fit for rana, his not meant for her and she's not meant for him and I can realise that now why kate Oates said that. Also how zeedan quickly wanted to forget about the affair ever happened and was happy to move on and pretend to be happily married with rana for another yr for money. Now what sort of a husband would act like that if he really loved rana he wouldn't forget that easily he would still be heartbroken and in pain & tears and certainly wouldn't have accepted the offer from rana's dad bc money can't buy love.

stephkt It's really not worth it because the whole reason behind it is blackmail. If Zee hadn't threatened her, there wouldn't be a need for hush money. If her dad really wanted to be nice, he could've broke him off and told him to F off. No need for the fake marriage.. and if he still act up after that, then dad needs to pay Pat. Her parents are punishing her all the while Zee is going to make her feel miserable.
she gains next to nothing for waiting a year that she couldn't get if Zeedan just stfu and agreed not to out her. at least when she told him about the affair she did it in private, and not to the whole town to make a fool of him. then he would really lose his so-called "pride."
