+thenameslynith Truth! I also think it may be a trigger word? Maybe it makes his victims a lot easier to kill. (The dudes in the white pickup truck from s1...They died as soon as they mentioned penguins.)
I always quite liked him in TAS and Mystery of the Batwoman and most animation that wasn't The Batman, it's difficult to get Penguin right because when most people think Penguin they think Batman Returns with Danny DeVito and that wasn't who Penguin is... he doesn't live with penguins and eat fish with his flippers. He is a high society mob boss.
This penguin's going to be iconic, in a few years we will say "hey remember Cobblepot"?, this guy has talent. You watch the show you love him, you watch these interviews and you love him even more.
Same here, Penguin was one character I never really cared for as he just always seemed kind of like a joke but this actor really makes him believable and breathes such vibrate life into the character that it makes it hard to turn away from him. Sort of like what Heath Ledger did for the Joker (rest his soul), he really takes the character to a level that you can believe in. Penguin certainly isn't someone you would want to turn your back on!
I loved him in Accepted as well. Whenever I see him I would geek out. Then those around me give funny looks. Then now, I see others and I roll my eyes. I like his acting.
RLT's range is so great, he brings so much depth and complexity to the character. When he greets Jim Gordon, his acting is so good he even has me believing his desire for one, real friend in Jim is genuine. RLT's acting is so exceptional, he nearly forces me to suspend disbelief. I almost forget he's acting, and then he shocks me by killing someone. It's like the real life mobsters in a historical book I read, called "But He Was Good to His Mother....". As much as I like Alfred Pennyworth, RLT's Oswald C. has me on the edge of my seat, because I never know what he's going to do next. He's always thinking 10 moves ahead.
I'm a huge batman fan but I stayed away from this show because I thought it would be awful but i'm glad I was wrong....this guy playing penguin is what instantly had me hooked. He does such a great job! I'm eagerly awaiting episode 11
Everytime RLT enters the scene/room as The Penguin I automaticly takes all my focus on him, I don't know how to describe it but when I see him I feel some kind of connection you know, from underdog to King Of Gotham, it kinda sounds like my life ;)
Max Schneider Well that's what people today do it for too. Writing and drawing are both forms of art, and comics blend them, therefor comics, even the oldest ones, are art.
He is amazing as Oswald. I am a comic reader and have been as long as I can remember and Penguin has never been brought to life in this way before. He is incredible.
I freaking love this guy so much. When I was trying to get my friends into this and I was gushing about Penguin they were just like "Ummm Cobblepot? Lololol no!" They did NOT KNOW WHAT THEY WAS MISSING! This guy is the best reason to watch this show, Penguin became my new favorite batman villain because of it and I thought no one would beat my love for Harley Quinn!
Robin Taylor is to the Penguin what Heath Ledger was to the Joker or Robert Downey Jr. is to Tony Stark/Iron Man: perfect casting, the very embodiment of the character. In my opinion, he's the best character in the show and steals it right under Benjamin McKenzie's (Gordon) nose.
honestly, this guy is one of the best actors on tv right now. these news anchors are the definition of horrible. they interrupt him constantly and he (robin lord taylor) is so gracious and kind despite their lack of interview skills. shame on them for pretending to be more important than their guest. clearly, the reality is the opposite. love penguin!
anyone who says Danny Devito's was better, have you watched at least 3 episodes of Gotham? Just watch the 1st 3 or 4 episodes. Penguin, and Bullock are the hooks! Whole reason i started watching is because of them 2. Penguin in the pilot, is called out for betraying Fish. Gordan has to kill him because if doesn't Bullock has to kill Gordan. It's absolutely awesome how the story unravels. Towards the end of the season. You find out Penguin made a request to Falcone; requesting Gordan be the one who kills him. He tells Falcone too that he thinks Gordan will spare his life. Penguin was right! Arkham Penguin, and others before cannot touch Robin Lord Taylor's! He does TREMENDOUS job! The Penguin is an underground black market dealer trying tobe a mob boss. Where he does have talents for the black market. Mob boss he struggles with. He's been there, but can't maintain the power. If Galavan didn't come along Gotham would've been kinda peaceful. Penguin is actually somewhat both hero and villian right now. What makes him a hero is wanting the best interests for Gotham. What makes him evil is him bringing Gordan down to his level in the mob world. They both respect each other. Penguin is going eventually be 100% evil in Gotham. And he will go NUTS!!
if he tells what did u say i look like a penguin and then kills the interviewer and says i m not a actor who performs as a penguin ......... i m a penguin🎩🐧😈
This old guy makes Larry King look hip, current, and well-informed. I've never seen an interviewer repeat the guest's answers back as questions before.
His voice is great for stoner movies, but his role as the Penguin is breathtaking. I watched the hospital scene with Butch and Tabitha tonight and wasn't sure if I was breathing.
Oswald is by far the most interesting character in this show. He did really good work.
*Respect for using his actual name*
I always refer to him as Oswald instead of Penguin as well lol
+thenameslynith It's just respectful.
Brielle Rowan Yeah, plus I think it humanizes him. And you don't usually get to say the name "Oswald Cobblepot," love it!
+thenameslynith Truth! I also think it may be a trigger word? Maybe it makes his victims a lot easier to kill.
(The dudes in the white pickup truck from s1...They died as soon as they mentioned penguins.)
This guy is a great actor. This is the first time ever I take penguin seriously. The character always was a joke but now, it looks cool enough.
He is a high society mob boss.
favorite character on gotham
I agree he's certainly brought the most to the character.
Totally agree...suddenly the Penguin is freaking cool!
Danny Devito was a great penguin!
Robin taylor is an AMAZING penguin. He is my favorite character on the show.
Hell yeah :D
same, he is AMAZING!
supsjdjdjd YEAH BABA hes verry good ps hes so hot aaah XD
BobaVoll yeah and the walking dead when he plays sam was good too i love it
the only part of robin taylor that i wish to change is to make him fatter XD
It's funny how his character is really evil but he himself seems like the nicest person to ever exist
I know right. Like sarcastic little sociopath and then sweetheart Robin Lord Taylor..
is it weird that i dont find the penguin evil?
Matty Green I mean he killed a guy just so that he could afford a tuna sandwich
shhhhhh
also its not his fault hes a sociopath ok its a mental illness
i wish they'd stop interrupting him
This penguin's going to be iconic, in a few years we will say "hey remember Cobblepot"?, this guy has talent. You watch the show you love him, you watch these interviews and you love him even more.
They couldn't have picked a better actor to play The Penguin. He brings it to a whole new level!
Correction. They couldn't have picked a better actor to play The Penguin *in Gotham*. There are better grown-up versions of The Penguin in other films
I really feel like RLT as Penguin is the next Tom Hiddelston/Loki. Except, well, more psychopathic.
This guy is supposed to be 38!? He looks more like 22!!!
True.
It's so wrong to have Oswald as my favourite but it seems so right
penguin is now my favorite among all the characters ... he is such a cutie :)
Haha yes such a cutie, evil but in a good way someway
Same here, Penguin was one character I never really cared for as he just always seemed kind of like a joke but this actor really makes him believable and breathes such vibrate life into the character that it makes it hard to turn away from him. Sort of like what Heath Ledger did for the Joker (rest his soul), he really takes the character to a level that you can believe in. Penguin certainly isn't someone you would want to turn your back on!
He has created the best new character on TV in a long time.
I thought he was 25 - 26 at most lol he's 37!
wait what? wait you kidding me right?
GamerzDailyFix I think he shares the secret of staying forever young with Jared Leto
ill never forget robin's role in the movie accepted. he is a great actor im glad to see things working out for him
I loved him in Accepted as well. Whenever I see him I would geek out. Then those around me give funny looks. Then now, I see others and I roll my eyes. I like his acting.

"Oh yes, he is more brilliant than I thought he would be!" Robin is doing an amazing job! Penguin it's my favourite character on the TV show!
they really need to stop interrupting him lol
Ikr it was really annoying! haha
yesss
i know my poor son :-(
5 years later:
He is a cupcake. Such a cutie.
I'm a huge batman fan but I stayed away from this show because I thought it would be awful but i'm glad I was wrong....this guy playing penguin is what instantly had me hooked. He does such a great job! I'm eagerly awaiting episode 11
such a talented actor! my most favorite character in gotham!
I wanna look that good at 38
Everytime RLT enters the scene/room as The Penguin I automaticly takes all my focus on him, I don't know how to describe it but when I see him I feel some kind of connection you know, from underdog to King Of Gotham, it kinda sounds like my life ;)
Comics are art
I may watch this show just for him, because I love the Penguin.
Wait you like Penguin in Gotham show or in the comics ? I mean Penguin in comics is meh to me however Penguin in Gotham is interesting
afifi hasan
I think he's interesting in the comics.
Nowadays i think it should be considered art, but back in those days a lot of people just did it for the paycheck.
Max Schneider
Well that's what people today do it for too. Writing and drawing are both forms of art, and comics blend them, therefor comics, even the oldest ones, are art.
***** yes
Let's interview this guy and keep cutting him off mid reply.
I'm sorry but I just have to say robin tayler is hooooooottttt! Cutest guy ever! And an amazing actor!
He's absolutely super on the show!
Character of the season!
Jerry Ly Very much so!
Absolutely.
He's my favorite character on Gotham, and I wish his character in The Walking Dead didn't die. He's so fabulous. I can't even handle it.
he got a LOT of talent ! he is my favorite character in the gotham serie ! SO COOL
He is amazing as Oswald. I am a comic reader and have been as long as I can remember and Penguin has never been brought to life in this way before. He is incredible.
He has such an interesting face, it's impossible to take your eyes off him ... He is a different kind of handsome, classy and gentle :)
He's a dishy guy, the best Penguin I have seen so far. Love Gotham, hope they do another series after this one.
I love you, Robin Lord Taylor.
"These all came from a comic book, these writers didn't think they were making art..." AAW COME ON
I love him as Penguin, I love him as an actor, I just love him overall! Not to mention, he's pretty easy on the eyes ^_^ :*
As a guy, I can admit he's handsome. If Penguin had a heart of gold, he could have found a friend. I love him in The Penguin Show... I mean Gotham.
Love this guy!
He literally sounds like Oswald, so we know that he didn’t have to put a voice on which I appreciate! Absolutely love him ❤️❤️
HE'S SUCH A LITTLE CINNAMON ROLL HE'S SO SHORT AND ADORABLE
HES SUCH A GOOD ACTOR PLSSS
Robin Taylor is to the Penguin what Heath Ledger was to the Joker or Robert Downey Jr. is to Tony Stark/Iron Man: perfect casting, the very embodiment of the character.
In my opinion, he's the best character in the show and steals it right under Benjamin McKenzie's (Gordon) nose.
Um did they say "Batman" when talking about how the look of The Penguin has changed?
Yeah the guy obviously didn't know shit, like most hosts these days.
I think it was just a slip of the tongue, but yeah, woops...
honestly, this guy is one of the best actors on tv right now. these news anchors are the definition of horrible. they interrupt him constantly and he (robin lord taylor) is so gracious and kind despite their lack of interview skills. shame on them for pretending to be more important than their guest. clearly, the reality is the opposite. love penguin!
I loved gotham series because of him
Oswald Cobblepot comes across as something of a wimpy mush bag, but push him too hard & you get the Penguin, from right beneath the surface.
He did a great job portraying Penguin, he was awesome!
He's adorable LOL
Best character in gotham serial .....
LOOOOVE Robin as the penguin. My top 3 is Bruce, Ed and Oswald 👌
aaagh Penguin is awesome,, he makes me watch Gotham over n over againhe was simply born to do this role
AMAZING actor!
MY FAVORITEEEEE CHARACTER IN GOTHAM
He’s so adorable. He enters the heart right away without any permission💔😍.
Let your guess talk - common sense.
The interviewers need to let him finish a sentence.
He's a great actor! Cute, too
too bad he already has a husband

Robin Taylor is such a great actor
He seems like such a nice guy but I can't help but think he kills people in his spare time lol
His talent and attitude in Gotham is exemplary. Simply mind blowing performance.

th-cam.com/video/GB3d62fsorg/w-d-xo.html
if he tells what did u say i look like a penguin and then kills the interviewer and says i m not a actor who performs as a penguin ......... i m a penguin🎩🐧😈
That would be cool

Robin gave life to the character making penguin more relatable and has more depth, making the penguin emo and classy👌
Rlt rocked as penguin ,he stole every scene he was in and was very often fucking hilarious ,they need to put him as penguin in batman films
Um dos melhores atores q já vi, amo o seu trabalho

Without him there no Gotham
Man how awesome would it be to be an actor on gotham
Please support my campaign for Gotham to include the Grey Ghost with Kevin Conroy!! facebook.com/FoxGothamGreyGhostCampaign?fref=nf
He always says "it's an honor" in Gotham. I think the phrase has stuck with him
He played a minor on Walking Dead. But he was killed by cannibals in Terminus.
