I am small and if I got a dollar for every time someone mentioned that to me I'd be richer than Mary Berry!!!! The majority of people though don't mean anything by it. Having Mary on GBBO was absolutely fantastic. As for her comments being labeled fat shaming, I find that pretty ridiculous, they were made in a fun way and not intended to be hurtful. You do have a point but the swearing at adults could probably be because Gordon expects the contestants to know what they're doing (which they should) whereas the children don't. Even though the children seem to do a better job than the adults when it comes to cooking. I don't think Gordon's swearing has anything to do with his lack of cooking.

She was pointing out a fact about the chef. Good grief, he’s a heavy guy! HE got that way all by himself and he knows that. With all the truly bad things in this world, maybe we should spend less time being offended by everything and more time living our own lives. I think you can either think of it as fat shaming but there are much worse things that chefs have said on TV and I don’t think we need to store it so much. I’m not thin and I’m not obese but I would say that I’m pretty hefty as a person and I thought it was funny. I think that a healthy relationship with food is so important and it’s OK to have a treat.
I do think her comments abt weight Don't Carry Any after all it was only done 3 times. However Mr Ramsey can gas on in an almost Blue & offensive tone many times each show which seems to be what the audience tunes in to see & hear. What should be realized is just because there"s a demand for crudity does NOT mean it's correct. RMH/Ohio
