The amount of times hia asked kuea "you like it, right?" just shows how desperately he wants kuea's approval on things and wants everything to be perfect for him. I have no doubt that if kuea ever said that he didn't like the house or the room, hia would've immediately started the reconstruction of the place.
Yes he's very insecure and don't think he's fully worth Kuea which makes it even sweeter!!
If he wanted to impress Kuea. he could simply tell him he loves him, since telling him he didn't was the reason for their break up in the first place. He's starting to come across as a bit manipulative and controlling right now, which are signs of an abusive relationship. Him using Kuea's mom to force him to move in with him, was kind of creepy. Giving him gifts and rewards in the house to make him feel better about being controlled and manipulated, are usually warning signs. My heart hurt a lot for Kuea in the car ride when he was crying, because he was being forced to leave both of is homes. HIs smile at how nice the new home was, didn't really diminish the fact that he was forced, and that it was painful enough to make him cry. Abusers always make you cry, then give you a reward, then make you cry, then give you a reward, and make you cry, until you're just broken. I really really hope hia listens to his friends earlier advice, and changes the way he's handling things.

Everyone's like "Hia really loves Kuea" Errr...no.
All I see is a manipulative man who's forcing his partner to show him everything.
Having someone follow him, taking pictures of him, controlling him via his mom... Kuea has no privacy anymore. He has no secrets as there's nothing about him that Hia doesn't know.
Kuea can't go anywhere without Hia knowing and that's really creepy to me.
I feel really uncomfortable seeing Lian controlling and manipulative behaviour. He's always smiling and smirking whenever he successfully manipulates Kuea into doing what he wants.

The main obstacle in their relationship is communication. Both are kinda not themselves with each other with both lying to themselves and each other. If they communicate the show will end in one episode. There is this cat and mouse game going on. So don't take it seriously, it's only for making it entertaining, just chill and enjoy.

Kuea crying in the car, remembering Hia Lian saying he doesn't love him, was quite heartbreaking for me. But, we all know how Hia Lian loves him. I'm just wondering why he said 'NO' that time.
I think he said that because he doesn't love the version of himself that Kaeu is always trying to show him. He doesn't want some one who hides who he is all the time. He just wants Kaeu to be himself because that's who he loves

Really good thread underneath this episode on the boys love section on Reddit. Where somebody gets a really in-depth summary about kind of both Kaeu's and Lian's insecurities in the context of their culture as well. Lian comes from a poor background really so he feels that he always has to prove himself in order to be well matched with Kaeu. That is why he is bit of a workaholic because he doesn't want people to look down on Kaeu for being engaged to someone who doesn't come from the same background. Where as Kaeu is the only grandson so it is almost a guarantee that he will have to take over as head of the family eventually. Right now he is a very carefree person, spoiled definitely, right now he is very little responsibility in managing or running any of his family's businesses, up until now I think Lian has been handling everything. Even his schooling switching from computer engineering to mechanics has nothing to do with his family's companies, as the heir to a very wealthy family I would think being a mechanic is more of a hobbie. So not only does he have the insecurities that his love won't love him because of his true self but also that he'll disappoint his family as well. I am probably not explaining it very well lol

It's definitely a trap. It's got Bluebeard vibes all over it, especially with Lian's smirk while Kuae wasn't looking. For anyone who isn't familiar with Bluebeard. It's a western folk tale about a young woman who gets engaged to a man with a bluebeard. When they marry and she goes to his house she is given the keys to the house and told she allowed to go anywhere except this one room. Curiosity got to her and she opens the door to find the bodies of all his previous wives and was going to be the next victim because she opened the door like he expected she would. The story has a happy end, her brothers came in time to rescue her when they came to visit. Obviously, Lian has no intention to kill him but it still sounds like a trap.
And the countdown to the moment Kuer will enter the forbiden room has began. 😅😅
P. S. The countdown was fast: only lasted to the next ep scenes. 😂😂

It was so smart of the writers/editors to flashback to the conversation the made Kuea break off the engagement in the first place! At this point, we really needed it reinforced that Kuea wasn't just sulking and rebelling; he was genuinely hurt and betrayed

Lian is proving himself that he is a scary smart man indeed. The guy is two, three steps ahead on whichever plans he have, like with Kuea’s mom approval, the house concept, and the forbidden room (hoping that’s where the drum set is) 🤔.
Also Kuea shouldn’t be worrying if Lian is going to imprison him, he should be thinking on how not to fall in anymore of Lian’s trap. 🤣
It’s been only few days since the start of story in the series but in reality I’ve been waiting every Saturday for a month now and Saturday is becoming my favourite day because of this series.

When Kuea cried in the car after remembering his last date with Lian, I FELT his misery.. Being forced to leave behind everything that brings you comfort outside of your (in your mind) unrequited love, and into the territory of you unrequited love who claims to not return your love and sees you as nothing more than an obligation, a promise that must be fulfilled, a responsibility to keep in line, something as unsettling and unavoidable as being haunted by the Annabelle doll (You being the Anabelle doll) is HEARTBREAKING. Feeling trapped and like a burden to someone you loved but who does not love you. Being outsmarted, and separated from your comfort zone. They are playing it for laughs and naughty drama situation, but Lian has been a bit more cruel than necessary, and I think he knows it too.
I think he said those things to Kuea on their last date because he wanted to shock Kuea out of the Facade of PERFECTION he seems to put up in front of him, I mean, his plan worked but, he knows he's hurting Kuea to a significant extent,( I also think he is trying to make it up to Kuea with this whole plan) and I hope the writers recognize this as we go on in episodes.

Ugh yes thank you for this. I was expecting someone to say it and you worded it in a perfect way. I think they both have feelings for each other but Kuea was keeping on an unnecessary mask and Lian was a bit too cruel with him so that he can break his facade. I hope their relationship gets a bit healthier and they talk about their situation more.

Lian wasn’t born rich like nukuea so he learned everything he can to build a business just so others will see him as a good fit for nukuea… that’s why he always look so composed and mature when he’s with kuea… he wants be to his hia and takes care of him. As for nukuea, he didn’t’ want people to know his true self bc he didn’t want to let people down… he thinks that lian won’t like him if he finds out who he really was so he was trying to play a good boy … nukuea always remembered hia lian as this loving big brother figure while lian remember nukuea as a cute fragile doll that needs to be taken care and protect at all times … they both got the wrong impression😂 I think the separation and age gap are factors that contribute to their current tension too. They forgot that people will change and as a couple.. is not about one person sacrificing for another’s better life, it should be a team effort…They have to open their hearts to get to know each other again before they can get better at navigating their relationship. We are getting there… just need more patient haha Nukuea is actually very lucky to have Lian by his side…you will know why as story progresses 😅

@@jasmineestrella2808 rbh i thought the same at first after reading the novel n knowing more about Lian i can say both Lian n Kuea are on the same situation but in a different way. Both of them sacrificed their true self just each other so that they could be worthy of the later one. We are seeing the story from Kuea's pov but we need to get Lian's pov(which they'll do in the later eps) to understand the characters more. Lian sacrificed his interests just to make the perfect Lian which will be the fiancé of young master. Him making Kuea to move in a way to protect him as a guardian as he is his responsibility. If things goes like the novel, lian won't interfere in Kuea's private life but rather let him live it the way he wants by playing drum at gemini akd so he'll come home late to give Kuea his own time. The reason why lian is hiding his feelings i still not clear till the chapters i read but i can say lian behaves more like a guardian who's trying to protect kuea from the world which maybe a bit tricky for his young n innocent self but also let him have his freedom.

I cried when Kuea cried inside the car because he thought Lian doesn't love him and is only seeing their relationship as contract. I wonder how hard I'd cry in the future episodes when Lian realizes that his way of showing his love to Kuea went a bit overboard. It must be a heartbreaking scene, both of them will cry and finally admitting how much they love each other all along.

6:01 the Reverse psychology Lian pulled on Kuea 😁....that shot of them smirking while facing away from is each other is really good. Kuea thinks he has something he could do to annoy Lian and Lian knows exactly what he has done and expects Kuea to do. When the last part (4/4) becomes shorter than the previous parts, it feels like not a lot was seen in the episode. I wish they gave a little bit more in every episode. But i'm still loving it. Dang...now another torturous week.
See? I was never wrong. This is now the best BL series being aired right now. This is top notch story telling, acting and production. Everything about this is so interesting and visually captivating from the main couple, side couples and extras.
If you want more series that are perfectly done, you should watch "not me"if you haven't ｡◕‿◕｡

The scene where kuea breaks down in tears in the car really broke me , because he was giving up everything for a life without love and because Hia noticed it and knew he was crying but couldn’t do anything to comfort him as they were still not open with each other and he just had to face the other way and sit with a straight face pretending he doesnt know and doesn’t care😭

That scene in the car when Kuea is crying makes me cry a lot. Imagine being rejected by someone you love so much, ever since your a child and waited for a long time just to get engage with him. Those words are too much. Saying that I`m just engage with you because of our parents and I don`t love you. I also won`t fall for you because your face looks like Annabelle. And then now, you will live with this person? In the same room. I hope Lian can be just honest that he truly loves Kuea. So Kuea won`t suffer everyday because he deserve that love.
BUT! I feel that Hia Lian feels so sorry for what he did to him because he truly loves Kuea. And since Kuea is living with him now. He will use this chance to apologize and give more love to Kuea.

This is currently the finest BL series on air. The story, acting, and production are all excellent. From the lead pair to the side couples and extras, everything about this is fascinating and visually captivating. Their relationship is tough since they both believe they are insufficient for each other; I'm interested to see how things will alter once they live together and see each other's true selves. All the actors suits their characters and did well portraying it!
I’m just loving the parents in this drama they are so sweet and kind they raised them so well in this drama. The actors are amazing and impressed for one of male actors first time acting. He definitely gonna be a talented actor and hope he gets recognized more. His singing voice is amazing!

Lots of great stuff today again... I'm so interested now in the back story of Yi and Kon Diao, hope we get to unfold that in coming eps. Loving TutorYim too, so cute and funny. And Zee is serving us the bl version of Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights to perfection. Once more baby Nunew is shining about everything. I can't believe this is his first acting job. The way he handles emotion and his natural acting is outstanding. Loved how he mimicked Lian's voice playing with the tuka-ta's!

I have to say, between the chemistry and the acting skills, this dramas has to be one of my favorites. I love all the actors in it. They play their roles so well. I honestly would love to see them all act together in another drama after this one or in a season 2 because it just works. I'm honestly surprised that Nunew has never acted before. His singing and acting skills have impressed me. At the very least, please put him as the lead in more dramas. Zee too. I don't care if it's BL or not. I want to see more of them whether it be working together or apart.

I hooked up with this series since the 1st teaser, then after the official teaser came I got more excited and couldn't wait to watch. From the episode 1 till episode 4 I have to admit that the set-up of this series seriously was well-made and well-balance thus made it perfect. The acting of the actors were excellent, from the main couple, side couples even the other characters, nothing awkward. Every little detail of facial expressions, even the intonation and tone of their voices were well executed too. Everything not too less, nor too much, very well-balanced ^^
This series might be fluff with a pinch of good humor, but the core problem was actually quite serious. For a couple who known each other for lifetime, yet Lian and Kuea were actually not fully understand each other. In front of each other they become a persona who actually not the real themselves. For the sake of engagement they tried so hard to become someone who compatible for each other, but what they forgot is communication. The key point, the fatal point.
Correct me if I'm wrong, despite the cold persona, Lian for me was actually a man who realize his fate since Kuea's Grandpa told him that he would become Kuea's husband in the future. He knew since the day 1 what he will and have to do, that was why he work hard to reach a level where he would be a perfect match for Kuea. He might be looked cold outside but I never doubt how much he actually love Kuea.
Meanwhile, Kuea might be had a beautiful vision about his love life with Hia Lian, yet the more they see each other, the more they dated, the more he doubted Lian. The Lian he knew was not the Lian he wanted to be. The more he tried to be perfect for Lian, the colder Lian became. He might be really disappointed, but he himself hide too much secrets from Lian.
Thus made Lian finally take this step to slowly 'forced' Kuea to be more honest, because only then Lian will understand more about Kuea. And only then they could build their true relationship in same ground, in equal honest feeling.
Anw, I can't wait to see what kind of surprise that Lian prepared for Kuea. The naughty boy really need to be disciplined, LOL

As a person who’s loyal and change himself for person, he’s in love with, its already a big effort but it’s all useless when that person didn’t even feel the same as us. I support Kuea when he called off the engagement but lets see how Hia gain his trust back and realize he also love Kuea

Lian was angry at that time when he learned that Kuea was keeping a secret identity from him. He said those words out of anger. He'll realize it in future episodes and will ask forgiveness from Kuea. Everything will be okay.
