Following this same logic we could maybe explain Kakashi’s sudden jump in power in the war arc due to him having the chance to talk to his father in the after life, in the sense that it could have given him closure he needed with his past and made him accept the responsibility he still had with the ninja world, beyond just training his students to surpass him

Kakashi Could voluntary use the 1st gate and probably could have learned the second. Copying strong justsu like weighted boulder, lightning cloak, and diamond armour would've made him way stronger.
His dad was at the level of 3 sanin His potential was probably reached in war arc but he couldve been stronger than that. Boruto Kakashi is even stronger than war arc Kakashi so if he trained to his full potential it couldve been like a post 4th war kakashi with his mangekyo sharingan.
Tbh, people very underestimate kakashi's potential. He became jonnin at 10(not 12)! That's probably more potential then orochimaru, itachi or even minato. Maybe because kakashi shows on beginning of the anime he was not supposed to be so strong because whole power system would not make sense(he would be much stronger than 3rd hokage). If kakashi has appeard in the middle of the shippuden he would be even stronger than minato when he became a hokage.
