Car review: Ford Focus Estate

Gone are the days when an estate car would be first choice for any mid-sized family looking for a vehicle with a bit more space. The market is now dominated by SUVs but Ford still believes estates have plenty to offer, especially for caravanners, and has updated the Focus which has arguably been the best of the genre since the late 1990s. James Batchelor jumped behind the wheel to see how it performed.

I've just bought this car having moved on from an SUV. It has great size, style and comfort at great value for money. The engine (automatic) actually surprised me, decent acceleration from 0-50mph... but really does lose guts when trying to overtake at higher speeds. I do really like the car overall and would give a 9/10

I like it, but the Active version would be a better practical tow car I think because of the higher ride height.

I was going to get this but went for the new qashqai, I'm feeling like I made a mistake but can't fault the qashqai either. This wins on boot space, which would of been better for me with my fishing gear but the wife is boss (for now lol 😂😂) so went with her choice. I'm a bit gutted now but can't have both.

I'm getting the MK4 ST LIne 2.0 150bhp before this update and i prefer it as this has removed all buttons and everythign on touchscreen which i hate

I think the air con control being only on screen is way to distracting. Love the car though.
