As a Filipino, I REALLY LOVED THE VIETNAMESE ONE! Their clothing felt so spiritual honestly. The music fits in aswell! I felt something so spiritual when i heard the music and looked at their clothing. Love it!

That’s recognized as National costume but it is just suitable only for woman, Aodai is not really a traditional clothing because it is the modernized version of Vietphuc, designed by a Vietnamese fashion designer in Modern era. If you want to see anything really traditional, we recommend for you to know about Vietphuc.

Im getting tired of some people shaming other countries (such as the Asean countries here) and saying that their culture is much poorer or their race is "uglier". I mean come on, We are meant to be equal and what matters is everyone has opinions but sometimes opinions can get little out of hand

West Malaysia has no identity because the ethnicities there are all immigrants, ethnic Malays and sub-Malays from Indonesia, Hakka Hokkien from China, Tamils from India, Bengalis from Bangladesh..... Malaysia should wear traditional clothes from Sabah and Sarawak because those are the only two ethnic groups that are native to Malaysia

Jarabe Tapatio (mexican) doesnt look like Mayan, but its part of their culture cuz they got Spanish influence-

@@aprilshower7799 For me, national costume of the philippines generally are barong tagalog and barot saya because its "national " clothes and before spanish conquer philippines, the philippines are not a country "a nation" only a tribes with diff baranggay, different kings and different traditional clothes and i think we cant ignore the fact that we had traditional influences from spain but the thing is we create a clothes suites to our environment and being a tropical country. The logic is, its unfair if you represent as national costume the traditional Clothes of ifugao but not all the filipinos didn't use it as a traditional costume in other island and region or representing a islamic costume if the majority of the country is not a islam. Well we know that the philippines tribes have knowledge and system but not as a one country before but im not disagreed to represent other traditional costume of tribes like traditional costume of ifugao, As one as the philippines cultures. And well I agreed to the last part hahaha

@@aprilshower7799 Barong tagalog and baro't saya *EVOLVED* from the *DRESS* that can be found in "Boxer codex". Boxer codex or the Manila Manuscript, is a Spanish manuscript written circa 1590, which contains illustrations of ethnic groups in the Philippines, ethnic groups across Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Micronesia at the time of the EARLY SPANISH CONTACT. This dress is what the filipinos wore even before the spaniards came to the country.
The term itself comes from the Tagalong words "barot at saya" or "blouse and skirt," still the basic components of the ensemble. For "Barong tagalog" I didn't need to explain as the "tagalog" itself is there. People who lived in mountains and other part of the country on the other hand also has their own traditional clothing. If you compare the Philippines traditional clothing to some countries occupied by spain you can find the uniqueness of Baro't saya and barong tagalog from their traditional dresses.

Everyone, let us promote peace. ASEAN is a group of countries in South East Asia to be united as one. Why is the comments like this. Why are we fighting from one another? Why are we proud of our country and not others? Why are we choosing what we want? WE ARE ONE IN EVERYTHING! Just please be united and if your not part of the ASEAN countries and your rude, why are you here? Just leave.

    🇵🇭
    the "maria clara"
    (ᜋᜇᜒᜌ ᜃᜎᜇ)
the attire is composed of four pieces, namely the camisa or baro, the saya (Baro't saya), the pañuelo (Spanish for scarf, also spelled panuelo) and the tapis.
The camisa is a collarless blouse whose hem is at the waist, and is made from flimsy, translucent fabrics such as pineapple fiber and jusi. The sleeves of the camisa are similar to the so-called "angel wings", or shaped like bells. The correct term for the sleeves of the camisa during the mid to late 1800s is a "pagoda" - derived from early Western silhouettes of the Victorian period [5] The pañuelo is a piece of starched square cloth (either opaque or made from the same material as of the camisa) folded several times, and placed over the shoulders. The purpose of the pañuelo has been related to modesty, used to cover the nape and the upper body due to the camisa's low neckline as well as its sheer translucency; and also doubles as an accent piece because of embellishments added to it, usually embroideries and the pin securing it in place. The saya is a skirt shaped like a "cupola"[7]with a length that begins from the waist reaching the floor. These are usually comprised either of single or double sheets, called "panels" or dos paños (Spanish for "two cloths"); some examples are made out of seven gores or siete cuchillos (Spanish for "seven knives"). The tapis is a knee-length over-skirt that hugs the hips. Tapis designs may be plain, and is usually made of opaquefabrics such as muslin and the madras cloth, and also is used for the purposes of modesty as it keeps the lower body from showing due to the thinness of the saya[4] and the absence of underwear.
Some ladies belonging to the higher classes (often of the mestiza caste) consider the tapisa lowly piece of clothing, as it resembled the dalantal (apron) worn by the lower classes. The upper class women of the 1880s to the 1890s wore an elaborate[5] version of the tapis that was tied around the waist with two strings. This was also referred to as a "dalantal" (apron

There so many traditional costumes in Malaysia , basically each state has it own costume and we have different kinds ' etchnicity' ( i dont know if this is the suitable word but yeah)
    - for example for Indian ( they have sari ,etc)
-for Chinese (they have cheongsam, sorry if i spelled it uncorrectly)
    -for Malay (kebaya,baju kurung kedah,baju kurung,kebaya nyonya)
•fun fact: kebaya nyonya is worn by baba-nyonya (chinese but they are related to malay if i wasnt mistaken)
-and there are lots of different etchnics in Sabah & Sarawak , and each of them has it own traditional costumes,dialect/language,
    📌 same goes for Singapore,Brunei & Indonesia.
    📌 i basically have javanese-bugis-malay blood

I hate how people say stuff like the Filipino dresses were influenced by Latino heritage and the Vietnamese dresses were influenced by China,so it's not really that unique and beautiful. So ok, we get that the countries were somehow influenced by other countries but that doesn't basically mean that the Filipinos or Vietnamese copied another culture. And plus if it's similar so what? If the ppl believe that it represents who they are then that's what's going to represent them. What right do you have to judge what represents someone else or the entire country for that matter? And BTW if anything they probs took inspiration from another country and made it into their own and doesn't that matter more? To turn something into something else that shows who you really are?

    • @sexiliciouslyhott
      @sexiliciouslyhott 7 ปีที่แล้ว +29

Vietnam did not copy Chinese culture, we inherited it as the Chinese were a part of our cultural heritage as they settled in Vietnam for +1000 years. That is a long time and of course they became a part of our culture. Just like the British in America, Australia etc

    3:12 Indonesia 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
The name of the clothing is Kebaya Kebaya is a traditional blouse worn by Indonesian women made of thin material worn with a sarong, batik, or other traditional knitwear such as songket with colorful motifs.
Indonesia has a variety of cultures and characteristics in each region. Including 34 traditional clothes that must be owned by all provinces. Now, the popularity of traditional clothing is not only an attraction for tourists. But also to be used during important events, holidays, and present wedding moments.
The term "kebaya" is believed to have come from the Arabic absorption word kaba or qaba which means "clothing", this term may be related to the Arabic word abaya (Arabic: عباءة) which means loose robe or garment. The term was then introduced to the archipelago through the loan word from Portuguese, cabaya.
The earliest form of kebaya originated from the royal court of Majapahit, which was worn by the empresses or king's concubines, as a means of combining existing female kemben clothes - namely the bandage and breastplate of noble women - to become more polite and acceptable. Before the influence of Islam, Javanese people in the 9th century had known several terms to describe types of clothing, such as kulambi (Javanese: klambi, shirt), sarwul (Javanese: sruwal, pants), and ken (long cloth or cloth that wrapped around the waist). During the last period of the Majapahit Empire, the influence of Islam began to develop in the cities of the northern coast of Java, so it was necessary to adapt Javanese clothing to the newly embraced Islam. Specially designed blouses, often made of thin, fluffy cloth, were worn after the kemben to cover the back, shoulders and arms, to make court ladies appear more polite. The adoption of more modest clothing is associated with the influence of Islam in the archipelago. Aceh, Riau, Johor, and North Sumatra adopted the Javanese kebaya style as a means of expression of social status with the more refined or refined Javanese rulers. The name of the kebaya as a particular garment was recorded by the Portuguese when landing in Indonesia. Kebaya is associated with the type of blouse worn by Indonesian women in the 15th or 16th century. Before 1600, the kebaya on the island of Java was considered a special garment that was only to be worn by royal, aristocratic, and priyayi families in an era when male peasants and many women. walk shirtless in public.
Then, the kebaya was also adopted by the general public, especially female farmers in Java. To this day in agricultural villages in Java, female farmers still wear simple kebaya, especially among older women. The everyday kebaya worn by farmers is made of simple materials and buttoned with a simple needle or safety pin. Kebaya slowly spread to neighboring areas through trade, diplomacy and social interaction to Malacca, Bali, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, the Sultanate of Sulu, and Mindanao. The Javanese kebaya as it exists today was recorded by Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles in 1817, as silk, brocade and velvet, with the central opening of the blouse fastened by a brooch instead of buttons and buttons on top of the torso of a kemben wrap, the cloth - a wrap without A stitch several meters long, mistakenly given the English term sarong (sarong, Malaysian accent: sarong) sewn to form a tube, much like Western clothing. The earliest photographic evidence of the kebaya known today dates from 1857 to the Javanese, Peranakan, and Oriental styles. In the last quarter of the 19th century, the kebaya was adopted as the preferred clothing for women in the tropical Indies, worn by Javanese natives, European colonialists and Indos, as well as Peranakan Chinese.
Around 1500-1600, on the island of Java, the kebaya was the garment worn by the Javanese royal family only. Kebaya is also the clothing worn by the family of the Cirebon Sultanate, the Mataram Sultanate and its successor the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Sultanate. During the period of Dutch control on the island, European women started wearing the kebaya as formal dress. During this time, the kebaya was changed from using only mori woven items to silk with colorful embroidery. There is a garment similar to a kebaya, this is called "mistress kebaya" and it was originally created by the Peranakan people from Melaka. They wore them with a sarong and pretty beaded shoes called "manek shoes." Now, mistress kebaya is undergoing renewal, and is also well known among non-Asian women. Other variations of the kebaya are also used by Indonesian Chinese descendants in Cirebon, Pekalongan, Semarang, Lasem, Tuban and Surabaya.
    just information 🙏

We used to play a lot of games everyday (we seldom play games because of school now), and they introduced me to certain foods such as the Pho and the Vietnamese spring rolls (my favorite). That's the point of time were I started liking the Vietnamese culture a lot.
We also had a neighbor here in my province in the Philippines that's Vietnamese. He used to smile a lot and was generally friendly. I've never seen him for a very long time, my mom said that he's bed-ridden? I don't know if that's the term, but she said he cannot walk nor talk anymore due to old age. Still saddens me thinking of him.

Spain united the archipelago. Don't hate them just because they converted the people to Christianity. The people were not forced. They decided to be converted to become christian and ofcourse they will be exposed to European culture. Don't be fooled by black propagandas about Spanish Era made by the Americans. We still have the ethnic cultures thriving in our country so why hate them? They didn't fully erase their culture. If they erased the ethnic cultures, you won't see muslims in Mindanao, or ifugaos in north luzon.
