I always worried that by changing my cage accessories around, I might upset my piggies. I'm so happy that you talked about how beneficial it is to change their toys out and move their hideys around.
Thanks you so much for making this video I had to guinea pigs and one of them passed away yesterday and this will be so helpful to make sure I give my other Guinea pig the best life I can
Thank you for sharing this video! It has made me realise that my piggies always have the same toys and cage set up, today I am going to the pet stores to buy some new toys. I love your channel as you are so helpful, you have lots of videos to choose from and you post quite often!
New Guinea owner here! Your videos are very fun and helpful….this one especially. We have two (our kids new Pets) and some of these I didn’t know after all the research I did, so thank you for this and for adding links!!!!!❤❤🐹🐹
Love pet people expressing the importance of enrichment!! It’s so important for every species. Are you planning on doing a tour of the new pig room? I miss seeing them!! ❤️
Thanks for sharing! Love providing enrichments for my piggies--most are hay based and find many ways to use natural hay containers that they can eat and go in. Switching around their home is hard as my one skinny pig has a hard time with any changes. I usually rotate favorite hides and bunk beds at each clean. Harriet is one for routine and I can't leave out a chew ball or toy or she notices and will pace to find. She actually makes shapes out of them! I try to sneak a new one or add. My rescue, Clementine, follows whatever Harriet does and so copies her behaviors. It makes it challenging, but I do try! Update--I scattered the food for breakfast and for their veggies and they loved it!
thank you for this video! you probably know how i feel as a fellow piggy mama because i’ve recently been feeling that i’m not taking care of them very well but watching this video makes me realise that my guinea pigs have almost all of these things (i don’t free roam them enough and i don’t have a lot of toys for them - but they did try out a new snuffle mat i got them for the first time and loved it!) so maybe i’m not doing as badly as i thought (been 3 years of having them but still feel so new to this). this video made my day, thank you. i’m also looking forward to sending you a few pictures of my piggies’ cage to review once i’ve upgraded it - still waiting to order the supplies to increase it from a 10sq/ft to 14sq/ft (it’ll be under the name leila with 2 male guinea pigs called muffin and treacle). i love your videos so much and i hope you see this comment (it should be the 4th one on this video)!!
@@muffin_meep so glad you liked the video!! I also don’t free roam mine that much due to my other pets, but I think it’s just one enrichment option of many! Sounds like your babies are lucky to have u!
@@autumngrace. thank you so much! i also made a mistake with the cage measurements they actually have a 13sq/ft cage at the moment and i will be upgrading to an 18sq/ft cage very soon! plus i just bought them a load of new toys and they are loving them so far!!
For those who live in apartment buildings or rent homes where the grass may be sprayed with pesticides, they can perhaps take a "under the bed" storage container and grow their own grass patch that their guinea pigs can enjoy. It's a compromise to bring the outdoors into the inside. If that makes sense.
This video is so helpful thank you ! I have a question, do your guinea pigs burrow under bath mats? Cause mine do even though they have many hides in their cage !
Great video, really helpful, I know what you mean about loving setting up the cage!!! And they love being outside (at the word grass WHEEK WHEEK)💖💗🐹

Watercress is so healthy too!! It has anti-inflamatory properties (of course should be fed in moderation but its considered a super food)❤
Really great tips, Autumn! Tyfs : )
Thank you autumn you are the best pet owner

Yes mine do!
We put ours on the floor for floor time and they all just sit together frozen lol
@@xobr1br1xo lol some are like that! Not all of them enjoy it. Try giving them the same hides as they have in their cage so it smells familiar
@autumngrace. good idea! Thank you!
I don’t know when mine is happy only when he’s getting food I don’t know
