Considering that only in the last few years major orchestras have programmed both music by women and music by black women and men, they could get around to adding music by "Early American symphonic works!" Usually they just want to pack the house with music everyone knows and loves. That crowd is beginning to disappear.
@@Renee2004lr I can't argue with you Lisa because you are correct. This is why I have conceived an entire program of BBC Promenade Concerts for the last 10 years. I send then to the Controller, he politely replies but ignores my suggestions. If you would like to see the 2022 prospectus I'll be happy to send it to you via email. I am currently working on 2023 and if you have any ideas for any pieces to include I' be pleased to hear them.
A nice bit of Americana. Thanks much.
Nice performance from J.M. Williams and the orchestra. He is both an excellent conductor and violinist.
Heard this on NPR radio. Lovely.
A very good piece. Thanks to Naxos And The National Orchestra of the Ukraine. Doubt I will ever hear this performed in the US. Sad.
I agree Andrew. I'm also sad I will probably never hear this in the UK as well. Some of the brass writing is superb.
@@DavidA-ps1qr Yes, you can certainly hear the influence of Elgar as well!
@@andrewpetersen5272 Indeed, I think he studied with Elgar at some point.
