you ever wonder why everybody seem to have something bad to say about other regions? this mentality is very tribal but seems to be a common cultural sin throughout the archipelago. the worst version of this though is how the northerners look down on the southerners. it's almost like we like to pick an arbitrary negative trait and then blow it up and use it to describe an entire group of people just because of where in the country they were born. i always found that strange and ugly but fascinating.

As a American i can honestly say that the people are wonderful. I have walked the streets in many cities and your video is spot on. They will get up to give you their seat and welcome you to eat and drink with them. We have a lot to learn in the USA.
Wow 😍 as a person living in Tondo makes me feel proud to see how hospitable and fun they are. When we search in Google what is Tondo the number one that will pop out is usually involves in crimes, and hoping one day that image will totally be change, like Tondo become a place where people always want to visit just like other tourist spot places here in Philippines 🥰 Btw, better to visit Ugbo 5pm onwards as the food stalls mostly start to open by 5pm.
😊After watching so many videos of people visiting Tondo, I have to say I am impressed with how polite and kind everyone is there - I would like to visit one day!
That's what real Filipinos are. Just simply enjoying their daily lives. Not those who travel, go to expensive restaurants, and live in luxury. Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone.
While I watch your vlog I find myself feeling teary eyed since, in the regular course of things, we Filipinos discourage tourists from going to Tondo and don't even recommend it to foreigners because of its tarnished reputation in the past. I observed how my people in Tondo welcomed you, and it made me feel guilty and embarrassed because, despite the fact that Tondo has changed significantly over the years, we Filipinos still judge our own people in Tondo. I am thrilled and relieved that Tondo has fully transformed from the worst neighborhood in Manila to one with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Thank you for sharing your heartfelt emotions while watching my vlog. I'm grateful for the opportunity to witness the warm reception and hospitality from the people of Tondo.
My stepmother said the same. When we were in boracay and manila she always talked about the bad places. She saw the video of tondo and said "they changed" and cried and prayed. She talks alot about those places while we drive with the boat.
Salamat mga taga tondo, pinatunayan nyo na mali ang maraming tao na nakakatakot ang mga taga tondo at ang tondo mismo. I AM PROUD OF YOU TONDONIAN. ANG BABAIT AT ANG SAYA SAYA NYO DYAN. I love you guys.

They could even hack them, and expose them, if they do it right. (; The guy they're telling to leave looks bigger than both of them. They probably resort to a lot of weapons and a lot of numbers since they're shorter, and probably weaker. That's how gangs work, groups of cowards. 💀💀💀
lol. If you watched the whole thing one of the kids tried to steal a mango but the vendor caught her red-handed. We Filipinos are nice, but stereotypes exist for a reason.
In every video I have watched these people seem so polite and kind, I am thinking about visiting - I am seriously impressed with their kindness and generosity!
Bro I missed the premier, but I just watched the whole video today. First offf, holy shit your Tagalog is legendary!! This was an incredible depiction of how energetic and fun the Filipino culture is. You can just see how much you are enjoying all of the interactions and chanting as well as the locals are just so happy to have you exploring and testing foods with them. Such a well made video from start to finish. You can tell the effort thought and connection in this video with each and every person in this video. and Lmao i died, I did not know you had a baby in the Philippines bro!!! A video where you can change perception and thinking on a place is one of the most incredible to watch! Very well done my brother.

I have relatives in Tondo and my father grew there. dont feel scared everytime you go there as long as you are not showing them negative attitude they will not harm you. Thank you for visiting Tondo.
Ali, i've seen a lot of foreigner bloggers and compared with only some of yours. Quite frankly the more I think about it, I don’t think I have ever seen a philipino in a bad mood ir an angry one! Great genuine people.
This episode really brought a smile to my face. Everybody there is so nice and almost feels like they would just give you the shirt off of their back. All of the kids are fantastic, although it feels like it's almost never land with all of Peter Pan's children running around. Also that guy in the orange shirt should be a comedian. 😁

My three trips to the Philippines for 30 days each, was some of the best memories of my life. I was in Iligan City... Dumaguete and Cebu... The greatest people & food on earth... I love the Philippines and they have such respect for older Americans, having never forgotten our comradeship during WW2..
Been with my lady that’s Filipina since I was 17 and her 19. I told her I wanted to see the PH and we went when I was 18 and just graduated high school (she was already in college). Now, I’m 33 going on 34. We’ve traveled to the PH about 6 times I think with always stopping at other countries that we connected in. Just had our second child almost two weeks ago. I love it there and I have always told people here in the US that the people of the Philippines are some of the most kind and welcoming people I have ever met in my life. We plan to go back soon and I’m taking a friend with us that has never gone but has always wanted to go from me blabbing about it all the time 😃. Great vlog. P.S. - bro I know it’s insanely hot there I would have 100% climbed in that pool. 😂
Nice, im happy for the both of you, I met my Filipina wife on a mmorpg game who knew that after so many years of long distance, it was fate. All you guys making negative comments about Ali, just watched Mergim’s vlog before posting your comments. This video came out 2weeks ago... Why not post your negative comments then. Honestly I subscribe to Mergim too, I agree Ali’s title is misleading. But read the description of the video, Ali is trying to disprove what is being said about Tondo. Ali never cheated the tricycle driver out of money, he paid him 500pesos, if anyone found Ali offensive, it would have been the people he encountered in this vlog. Not one person was upset or offended by him. Ali never showed any disrespect to anyone in Tondo. Those people welcomed him into their house. If Ali forced himself into their house they would have killed him right. Show me one angry person in this vlog. To Mergim, I respect you too, but you could’ve approached this differently. Watch Ali’s video from his first visit. Nobody was offended or disrespected. All you negative commenters, stop riding the bandwagon. Every vlogger does this line of work for views whether they admit it of not. Mergims vlogs are awesome too. I subscribe to both of them, it’s a sad day when I watch vlogs where negativity makes people turn on someone because of another person opinion... it’s is just nonsense. Ali and Mergim, I love you both. Keep making these videos that make me happy and show us more about the beautiful Philippines.

I appreciate your Video so much! I came across your Vlog because I have been researching virtually about Tondo. I needed to find positive ground of reasons why it make sense to host an Airbnb stay located in Tondo. I understand that there are foreign tourists or kababayan who might want to stay in less expensive accommodations, but seems having difficulties finding it. Everytime I go home to the Philippines, I struggle finding a place to stay for days that is not a hotel. So I decided to start my own Airbnb to solve this problem for myself and others who might want to travel into the Philippines but do not know where to stay. So thank you for your Vlog content here. I also watched your other videos and they are very culturally and socially insightful, specially for those who has not been in the country yet but is planning to visit.

This video gave me so many laughs. When the guy in the orange shirt said 'I'm filipino, I'm always happy', that actually gave a warm feeling. Am glad that the Philippines has a happy and laid back culture, though it has its disadvantages. But when you think about it, living in that kind of condition, those Filipinos who are in poverty, if not for the happy culture then the word DANGEROUS would really manifest its meaning in those places.
Glad to hear that the video brought you so much laughter and some warmth! It is true that living in challenging conditions can be difficult, but the ability to find happiness amidst adversity is truly inspiring. Filipinos are truly remarkable. ❤️

Wow 😍 as a person living in Tondo makes me feel proud to see how hospitable and fun they are. When we search in Google what is Tondo the number one that will pop out is usually involves in crimes, and hoping one day that image will totally be change, like Tondo become a place where people always want to visit just like other tourist spot places here in Philippines 🥰
Btw, better to visit Ugbo 5pm onwards as the food stalls mostly start to open by 5pm.
😊After watching so many videos of people visiting Tondo, I have to say I am impressed with how polite and kind everyone is there - I would like to visit one day!
Only because its foreigner with a camera but for an ordinary person walking around cant say the same haha
That's what real Filipinos are. Just simply enjoying their daily lives. Not those who travel, go to expensive restaurants, and live in luxury. Thank you for sharing your experience with everyone.
I'm glad I get to share it to all. Thanks for watching!
Philippines people looks like very friendly and chill like Nepali people, love it
While I watch your vlog I find myself feeling teary eyed since, in the regular course of things, we Filipinos discourage tourists from going to Tondo and don't even recommend it to foreigners because of its tarnished reputation in the past.
VERY SOO FAR and IM FILIPINO IM ALWAYS HAPPY...made my day
yup early 90s it was gang wars now in 2020s its food wars in ugbo night market :D hahaha
Tondo has been cleansed when Duterte become president.
:3 I'm not watching an hour of that. 💀💀💀💀
Yeah, if some thugs in some hood in the Philippines want to tell people to leave, they should report those people. They could even hack them, and expose them, if they do it right. (;
The guy they're telling to leave looks bigger than both of them. They probably resort to a lot of weapons and a lot of numbers since they're shorter, and probably weaker. That's how gangs work, groups of cowards. 💀💀💀
Dika pede maki piyesta sa tondo kung sa simpleng saksak mapipikon ka
lahat naman may taong hindi matino pero hindi lahat masama Media lang nag papa sama sa tondo marami jan matitino.
lol. If you watched the whole thing one of the kids tried to steal a mango but the vendor caught her red-handed. We Filipinos are nice, but stereotypes exist for a reason.

These don’t look rich but they have big hearts and knows how to have fun and treat a foreigner with respect and love. Good people of Philippines 🇵🇭 😊
Yeah Tondo is known as the most dangerous place here in our country. But they are still Filipinos that are hospitable and very friendly to a visitor like you. I have relatives in Tondo and my father grew there. dont feel scared everytime you go there as long as you are not showing them negative attitude they will not harm you. Thank you for visiting Tondo.
No problem! I had a great time! Will definitely visit again. ❤
Not most dangerous really.. maybe in Luzon
Filipinos don’t kill foreigners only Filipinos it sad but true
Ali, i've seen a lot of foreigner bloggers and compared with only some of yours. So far, you're the only one that is down to earth that can relate my fellow filipinos, you can easily win their hearts. More power to you as you continue to show traits of having a heart for pinoys. I'm a navy/army veteran living in California since Feb 1986 and watching your videos is very heartwarming. Other bloggers all they do is complain when you even slept in a cockroach infested hotel, I believe in you brother. Keep it up.

I freaking love Philippino people!! They are such genuine Hulu man beings! I have had so many philipino, and 98 percent of them are registered nurses which makes me, in a case of a medical emergency, in the safest hands ever!
Filipinos are the friendliest and kindest people I've met and your testimonials confirms it. Thanks for watching!

I was born, raised, and educated in the Phil. OMG, you are very brave, Ali. I was so afraid to venture into Tondo by myself. The first and last time I visited Tondo was when my college mate invited me to her house for a fiesta. celebration. Bravo Ali. You are awesome.
I hope you can visit there again. The locals are so hospitable and lively!
indeed! fear has no room if you have a good heart and know how to deal with people. WELL DONE ALI! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 loves you!!
Everyone there seems so happy and polite.
You don't have to be rich to be giving and welcoming...I think this is one reason why Filipinos also thrive anywhere in the world.
Good job man, that's legit. 👍 No frills, no hang-ups, no drama, it's purely spontaneous. Thanks for sharing this random tour deep into the Tondo hood.

down south of the philippines where we got muslim-majority areas and we coexist with other ethnicities quite well :)
I love the interaction you are with the locals. They really love that and will make sure that no harm comes your way. Filipinos are generally nice and kind if treated with same and you are a good and humble person.

Hoping also to see soon here in the Philippines 😊
Yes sir! Indeed!
Hey Luke When you Coming back to the Philippines with NOMAC ?✌️
Deeply touched by that story. Thanks for watching!
What negative things were being said? I really enjoyed this vid and I agree with what you said. All the interactions were wholesome and sincere.
