Without watching any more of the video, I believe this is a "head pressure control" set up to allow the AC to operate in cold weather due to the conditioned space being artificially warmer in the inside than the outside.
Im afraid youre mistaken there, But You did mention not watching the whole video. The rest of the video explains that its for dehumidification. It has no intentional effect on head presaure and these systems do not have low amdient cooling controls so they will not cool properly if its cold outside. That would require a fan cycle switch on the condenser fan
The bigger unit, has modulating hot gas reheat, you can, or at least could order the bigger units without modulating reheat, just on and off reheat and you got a similar setup to the smaller units.
Have installed some of these units on a school, had a check valve installed backwards on one and a leak on another. These aren’t installed by trane, trane ships the unit off site to have these installed.

Dang that sounds like some top notch quality control right there
why is the mfg making complicated dianasors
They keepin wit tradition
You know they invented the trane
Hot gas reheat?
Yes
Three way valve!!
It's a 4 way valve serving the purpose of a 3 way valve. Let's call it a 3½ way
slid that K into the title... 😏
Lol
It's witchcraft is what it is
Its true
2nd stage solenoid? heat reclaim. ok.
Its also called the reheat valve but i managed never to say that in the video
@@satanicinduction good to know. Haven't seen in the field yet, but I won't be confused when I see one now.
@@alias177I’ve only seen it once, it was for a local school system that the engineer specs
@@andrewdarbyshire9108 I was gonna say the schools I work on would prbly be the only place, from the engineers! Thank you sir.
Sure enough, these units are on a school,
And the only others I've seen were also at schools.
It's witchcraft is what it is
