- Today we start to finalize the Gravy Bones XXXL go kart. We start by addressing some of the issues with steering and brakes. We add 150cc front spindle bolts so we can use 150cc wheel hubs, brake disc, and brake calipers. Then we add a steering rack to get the best possible steering out of this kart. Stay tuned where we add a steering Quickener!

You’re really stepping up your skills with that lathe. Machinist Simulator has taught you a lot
what an awesome tool! with the little pressbreak and that table, it's really a "fab what ever you need" setup
That thing looks awesome and I'd love to see this as a 4 wheel drive.... That would be a street monster. 😮
Your teaching skills are top tier along with your fabrication expertise. Great that patreon allows us to express our appreciation. Also, your wife’s voice and laughter really add to the videos. More please!
We love you too, RB! I love the concept of this build-full suspension kart adds a massive amount of complexity, expense and weight. I’ve been considering a “grown-up” dirt kart to run on a graded dirt track in my back paddock. I can’t wait to see how this thing drives when it hits the ground.
Been following your channel for a while now. Hopefully I'll have my new garage built in time for you to make me one of those frames !! Old school kinda guy here , that's why I love these go Karts.. UTI grad, Chevrolet mechanic, certified Harley Davidson tech. Built alot of cool thing over my many years. Raced some cool stuff too. Younger step kids now so go karts are our new thing.. Your videos ROCK !!
I cant wait for y’all to release the frame!!
Probably my favorite Red Beard Build.
I would suggest that you put positive stops on the hubs to limit steering. Don't rely on the rack & pinion. Could over stress it.
On my Dingo I made plate steel areas to put your feet on to get them higher than the steering rods for comfort.
Nice work RB !!
Has to be someone at Go Power Sports that can re-gear that rack and pinion steering to speed it up without the need for a steering quickener. Hell I bet if you open it up you can machine some new parts.
Really enjoy the vids man... brings back memories of having a cart 😅 maybe one day I'll have another one. Keep up the awesome work and God bless to you as well.
Looking Awsome so far
Fine job sir!!
Dream garage! Great content!
I'm so stoked I would really like to see the 4:40 Duromaxx super charged I was thinking about putting a turbo on mine I really enjoy all your guys's content and I've learned a lot from you keep making them good videos I'm looking forward to the next 999 video
Awesome thanks 👍 great work
I will buy one... That thing is awesome!
Can't wait to see what you do with it, should go sick, and sized for me almost, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Wow that’s a cool looking Gokart.
Sick can't wait giving me good idea's
Looking forward 👌 good luck it'll be fine
Awesome job
Thanks!
It's looking good
As always great video
BTW they have those same hubs but with a 4x100 bolt pattern instead of the traditional 4x110 too.
I really like it
Love it
Gah dang you do some good work man and build it to last
Need to check out trophy karts . that would be an awesome build for your channel. keep up the good work .
Ive only watched your preditor based vids. I like this one even though im not into carts, BUT carts are cool!
Im into tadpole recumbent bicycles and motorised bicycles. Lol both of witch arent finished lol.
Keep up the good work bro. My nick name is doom. I to have a full beard like you.
I need duh Gravy Bones 3.0 wit Suspension deez Big Bones a Hurtin 🤤☮️
I dont comment much in here, but, I have learned a ton from your video's...Keep going...
I appreciate that!
The easiest way to add front brakes to any go-kart is to use the same hubs that you are using and myself as well but instead of having to worry about changing the stub axles to fit the metric hub bearings all you have to do is spend 10 bucks on 4 new bearings. They sell 5/8 x 35mm x 12mm bearings! Just remove the original bearings from the hubs and replace them with the new bearings and your done. Now they also have those same exact style spindles you just got through making (traditional style kart spindles that except those same hubs and calipers. Their around 30 bucks on ebay too!
Good to know.Thnx.
I don't use brakes, saves weight. I just crash into stuff to stop.
😂
That’s true. I’ll take’em off lol.
Whoop!
I imagine it, with full suspension with the same ride hieght.. I think that's amazing too
I will be doing one very soon with independent suspension
I would be interested to see a performance 420cc on methanol in that.
only thing missing is a GPS system lol ..it is looking good ,, clean your lathe lol .. dirty machines just show you have been busy ,,,I need to get more stuff for my lathes plus I want to get a milling machine ,, and a tubing bender . keep up the great videos .. I use a oil can on the lathe ,, I use PB spray on rusty parts taking stuff apart but if I use it on the lathe sprays back at me guess I need a bib lol .
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Have you considered doing the front spindles that have springs in them to add a bit more “suspension” to the front of the cart?
What size tubing is the gravy bones frame made of?
Any word on any go fast goodies for the 459 predator?
What do you estimate the frames to be selling for? Great work
Like green powder coat
stuper charger!!
What was with the slow mo shot lol 😂 I was expecting something to launch
Something must have happened in rendering. Good looking out.
@@RedBeardsGarage it was funny just random lol it was a good shot, got the Milwaukee moment of the day right there
hey so I have a 212 but the main issues are that the stock kill switch was ripped off where it mounts. It's just hanging and I was wondering if i can jus wire up an aftermarket switch and itll still kill it. Also my exhaust is spitting out fuel. I have no header on it because I was testing things and it spit out gas, didnt start, what could this mean? also I got a racing carb. Oko 26mm but i can't figure out how to put a throttle on it.
Front end parts look good. You sure about the '440'?May as well go the 392 supercharged...Bah-da-bump.
Quick question on wall thickness. What Wall thickness do you usually use for Karts and buggies? I just bought a bender and want to start playing. I have 1" 1.5" and 1.75" dies. Love your videos keep it up!
What is your favorite bigbore engine for go kart buggy
Lol puts one glove on to wield😂😂
I would put some gopowersports skinny’s on the front like u did on the yellow cart u just built
tie rod covers
What size tubing is that built from. Looks awesome
This is 1.5" and thank you sir!
I'd like to see a tilt steering wheel on it so it fits all sizes real good red beards the best
I can add that.
@@RedBeardsGarage Redbeard in my area golf carts have recently become legal for the roads and many other areas in the Northeast if the speed limit is under 25 they're legal for the road make this qualify has a golf cart sales will quadruple one seat golf cart they have been around since the '60s I think it's worth looking into for massive sales love this channel
Make a front splitter for it and wing like a mini rally car
4 wheel independent suspension would really make it dope af...
I’m going to make one in the next batch for sure.
How much would they cost
God bless RBG
I remember win you frist got that lathe and your had to have I think it was a frind of a frind that had to come in and help out for a while. since than I agree that you have come a long way since than. ya it's got to be nice having that to be able fab up your own machine parts for whatever you're building at any given time. He'll ya man you never sid how much that steering stabilizer was? You said it wasn't cheap just wondering how much something like that cost? God bless you.
Dave was a huge help! The steering quickener is ~$170.
When are you gonna get back on that Rincon powered buggy ?
Have you ever thought about building a full size rail buggy (with VW engine)?
im down to make frame after frame after frame....most of my work skills are in manufacturing AND im pretty bord most of the time so if you are hiring hit up this manifestation of part of your personality lol
You should get a seat cover tgat has rbg instead of rzr
Where are you located ive been wanting to get a cart built for awhile im from nc im 6ft 4 375 pounds so you see my problem I need a custom cart
When are yall gonna use that 999 cc duromax on something and build it up
do you think a 6'4" fluffy fella would fit this frame setup once you start selling them?
Tarps would be handy for a guy
I can't tell you how many tarps we have tried. Everything still rusts. We are working to have some kind of storage in the next few months. Everything takes time....and money.
Mud mower build? :)
After all the upgrades you should tear it down and get it powder coated after having it media blasted
Yeah that's the plan.
What's your price going to be on one of these xxxl rollers? I'd be very interested in buying one
Ballpark guesstimate would be great, I know prices could go up with materials 👍
Just a question. Why not run the steering below the chassis? I know the rear would need some height too but then you have all the room for the big old meat thighs to fit. Just a thought.
“Prototype eessenculy”
What happend to the Sema Harley build
Ya ever think of the color ya want yet
How much for gravy bones?💵
What ever happened to the two diesel projects? The diesel deuce and the dingo diesel?
Say I wanna put a motorcycle engine on there would you have a mod for that ?
I would have to make a bigger frame for that.
@@RedBeardsGarage oh ok I wasn’t sure if you would , What would be the largest engine you put on there or recommend putting on it as is
What happened to Lonnie?
DUDE!!!! Speed up those rpm's on the lathe!!!
Believe it or not your inserts will last longer, and be sure to put a dab of oil on it.
I was wondering if I should speed it up. Still green over here.
Well you do a lot beder than some of these guys is rat rod buggies have seen out here in Colorado that for dam sher I have been Watching You on TH-cam for quite some time now as long as you're having a good time doing what you're doing I don't think you need to speed it up at all I think you're doing great hell of a lot better than I would do that's for damn sure I do have a 420 CC Duramax I bought I want to put on a go-kart frame for my daughter do you have the time it would mean a lot to me if you could just break down a somewhat inexpensive list of what I would need I think it's got a 1-inch bore on it what kind of sprocket ratio and all that like I said it's for my daughter I want to surprise you haven't got a seen her for a while I know it would mean a lot to her God bless thanks for your time
Random slo-mo @8:26
Did not even know that was there lol
I am a big dude so I love that cart but it needs suspension
Just air the tires down and it will ride better than you think
Do you have a ballpark figure on how much the frame kit will cost? Also if you want to see one of the nicest billet CNC 212 heads examined, check out my humble little channel and look at my 236 build. I'd be honored if you'd give me a little feedback sir.
I have to figure that out at the time of building. Metal has doubled in the last year.
@@RedBeardsGarage Everything has doubled or tripled. Even the cost of plastic on a roll that we stamp our ice bags from tripled.
this is something your gunna build and sell?
Yes
No gloves crazy
Praise Jesus at 12:59 I Just had to STOP Finally a Correctly Installed Brake CALIPER Ya see How The Bleeder is Located Above the brake line If You Continue to Mount this way you will not have Brake Bleeding Problems or Crappy Brakes anymore
We don’t have brake problems even when we did mount them down. You can still bleed them as long as you bleed the line too.
You should use the 479cc v twin engine!!! It would work perfectly
I think you should bleach your beard and get a face tattoo. Keep the channel fresh ya know?
Well question is what tattoos?
You could start with a tear drop for all the 212’s you’ve lost.
