Here in the Huon we were without power from midnight Saturday until 3pm onSunday. While the rain was bad, the winds were what worried me most. Like you, no water, nothing. But I'd not swap it for the world. Paradise. Stay warm and dry and enjoy your little family. Thanks for the bonus video xx❤
What a beautiful life. You’re both hard working and just good people. Every time I see Rob is snuffing gold I pray he finds great amounts of it to help fund your life out there. God bless you!
Hello, it's great to follow the journey of this blessed family. Of course, we are challenged wherever we are, but prayer and words of blessings completely affect everything around us. Use words of love and gratitude on good and bad days... This way, the Creator will meet all your needs. God will give you wisdom for the next steps. A big hug from Brazil. I love see u guys.
I recommend getting a generator switch installed into your switchboard and then a generator.. we have one here in Victoria and it works a treat powering up the whole house..
Yum those blueberry muffins look good! I too use old carpet in my veggie patch and the worms are incredible, they love it. I have so many more worms in the carpeted patches compared to the non-carpeted 👌
Stellar effort keeping eggs alive during all that goings on, just a typical day when you are trying to homestead, your dedication has certainly paid off! ❤
Loving watching the changes on your homestead. Those storms were crazy, I thought my roof was going to lift off. Glad the baby chickens in their eggs were safe ❤
Just a suggestion, Rob, if you get solar panels with marine batteries and add one battery per month or two, you could potentially have enough to sustain your home essentials for a week or two. It's all about preparing for the unforseen.
Oh yes, the power of positive prayer. Thankyou. We are near the Pipers River mouth. Power went Saturday 7pm and did not cone back till Thursday. No phones, landline ,mobile, power. No emergency 000. Relied on an old battery driven pocket radio listening to ABC. Bought a Genni on Tuesday, our old one was petrol driven and about 30 years old. Took a drive to Launceston on Tuesday for a shower, purchased a new radio, lamps, battery and a bit of fresh food. The joys of living remotely. Love it. Nerves and anxiety are always just around the corner. Watching you in the garden, I think you will need to put some wire , loose, around those vegetables as it will be too easy for the wildlife to climb or jump. Love your videos. This morning, Saturday the 1st thing to do is go along to the river mouth as the flood and hightide was due to peak around 12.30am. Our progress association has been working on the picnic area that was devastated 5 years ago with ecobags, replanting etc. Etc. Just pray we don't need to start again. We live not far from a great many old goldmines and diggings around Back Creek, Lefroy and Leura. Thanks again. Keep living the good life.
I was wondering how you guys were doing up the top end, glad you are all safe. We had the rain and winds down here in Hobart but not the problems you had up there. Take care and thanks for a lovely video once again.
Good to see you weathered the storm OK. I used to live in Lincoln City, OR (USA) and the storms every winter would take out the power, sometimes for days. The only place with a generator to keep things running was the casino, where all of the linesmen would hole up every night to rest and refuel before going out the next morning to work on restoring the outages. Those guys work really hard!
Hope you guys wasn’t out of power long , here in Somerset wasn’t long but omg the Wind Damage 🫣 Stay safe guys and can’t wait for the bubbys to hatch 🐥🐥🐥
Good idea to buy a generator. They are great investments. As always, great video that is ALWAYS too short. I want one or three of those muffins! Hahahaha!
While losing your power was a pain I am glad no damage happened to your lovely home. We were lucky in Hobart - we got it pretty easy. I loved your work on the garden. You are such a lovely family. How long does it take for the chickens to hatch?
Hello from Texada Island British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦. Our little island has winter power outages too, we just bought a little bluetti to run the fan on our propane heater so we can keep warm. Cool to see you have the same one! Wishing you much joy as you dig in your garden, one of my favourite places in the world!
I wondered how you were getting on. It's good to know that you are safe and well and finding ways to manage to get things done. 😀 Your home is looking lovely and those blueberry muffins looked delicious! Scout is growing so fast, it won't be long and he will be out trying to help Daddy with the garden. 😀 Take care.
It's so refreshing to see some Aussie content, well done I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all your videos, I'm looking forward to watching more , thank you.
We also have a lot of power cuts on our 5 acre property in North Auckland, NZ. We moved here with 3 kids many years ago and soon realized we needed a generator. Good purchase.
I’m in vic. our power it tripped but it never went out north and a few minutes the people around us lost it and some people still don’t have it back now
Great video. One problem solved at a time! We put down weedmat 30 years ago and regretted it ever after. Ended up getting a gas flame burner for weed control in the veg patch.
Happy to see you and the incubator eggs survived the storms. I live in the South of the State and I was lucky to not have lost power. Thankyou for sharing 😊edit to add.. I have just made your Blueberry Muffins and they are delicious 😋 👍🏽
Way to go Rob I have begun my Vegie Gardens for the upcoming season in Victoria and it's one of my favorite times of the year until harvest time begins.
I am in Downtown Deloraine and we had not Power outage at all, and no internet outage. Yahoooooo! Only reason I found out about the outage was because my daughter in Westbury had an outage of both internet and power for 2 days. 48 hours. Never in all the years I have lived in Tassie has there been a two day outage, and we have had a lot of storms.
Glad your power came back to save the chics. we are now on our 5th day without power in the lileah area. All our neighbours have power but we don't and have been trying to keep our freezers going with an assortment of a generator and an 200max bluetti they are a great unit but we have to run it to town every day to charge it as our generator won't keep up to charge it.Hopefully we can all get back to normal soon.
Thanks for another great vid!We are in Wynyard and are lucky to have not lost power (only for like, a few mins) it was very scary tho, thought the roof was going to blow off - quite a few times! Glad u guys are okay.... Thanks so much for the recipe - will make for the kids lunchbox's next week! 😅❤
We’re working on it! We’ve been so busy with other work that our editing has taken a backseat 😭 the chicks are here and they are so sweet! Thanks for being here, can’t wait to share an update with you soon ❤️
You young couple obviously don't read all your comments or you do and don't take any notice of them. I left a comment when you two first moved in there and commented on the wind blowing the trees next to the power lines and i suggested you buy a cheap Chinese diesel generator with enough power to run the basics like pressure pump, hot water system, fridge/freezer, lights and egg incubator etc and get a sparky / electrician to connect it to your meter Box . $17,000 in gold divided by 2 = $8,500 would probably cover the generator and installation costs .🤔 I live in WARATAH and we were without power for 3 days. Luckily i have a generator but heaps of people hear don't and had to throw their fridge/freezer food out . Also, we got the TAS. Gov. $350 food grant deposited in our bank accounts 1 day after applying for it. 👍👌
Hi Mark. We do read all comments and definitely take advice from those who have more experience than us. A generator big enough to power our house or even just major appliances is out of our budget at the moment. It’s not fair nor kind to speculate on someone’s finances based on what you see online. Thankfully we have been blessed and managed to get by with the small one we purchased. Hope you are staying safe and well also. 😃
The young lady looks like a beautiful angel during the cooking scene.
Thank you so much🥹❤️
GOD bless your family! ❤ always excited for your next heart warming videos!
I love watching your sweet gentle videos, life is good even when the weather is bad.
You are so kind. Thank you for being here!💗
Good job weathering the storms, been a very wet year. Another beautiful video even in a crisis! Thankyou
Thank you for watching!❤️
Currently watching this in the dark with no power.
Hope you’re staying safe and well!!
She was absolutely glowing and looking gorgeous in that cooking scene, happy for you all
Thank you so much!🥹❤️
Scout is really Cute ❤
Yes, it's been a busy week with all the rain and power outages.
Good to see you didn't suffer any damage.
Nice! I love watching these episodes, it’s so sweet and relaxing!
Love your beautiful homestead. Happy for you all.

I think the state council put the power back on to the people and need most like out in the bush like they are.
1:05 Wattle Trees are useless, they grow super fast and come down when there's wind.
Yer gonna regret the polyester carpet fibers everywhere
BEHIND every good man, there's a woman
Couldn’t you put the incubator next to the fireplace?
Insulate under the incubator aswell! You know yourself camping? lying with no insulation underneath you isn't good!🙄
Instead of blueberry make that chocolate chip
Just wondering if the bluety unit is the most powerful in the range ? Going to use up some frozen berries in the recipe so thanks.
I believe it’s one of the smaller ones! They make far bigger / better! Hope you enjoy the muffins! Big hugs!
I’m glad I don’t live in the Tasmania right now
We need an update! Have those chick's hatched yet? 😅😅😅
We’re working on it! We’ve been so busy with other work that our editing has taken a backseat 😭 the chicks are here and they are so sweet! Thanks for being here, can’t wait to share an update with you soon ❤️
@robinsbrookhomestead awwww, thank you for taking the time to reply! You take time and enjoy life xxxx
Not the “Power of Prayer” but the power of people working in terrible conditions to fix the problem.
They are fantastic, heroes! I’ll continue to pray that they’re safe and well while working so tirelessly for us!❤️
