You’ve done a FANTASTIC job my pard. Hope to catch you at Cedar Creek again this year! Let’s collaborate sometime soon. \ Too bad! Looks like I missed out on a solid event… had to hit the Newport Folk Festival for the first time! Music here looked fantastic too. Look forward to jamming minstrel banjo x fiddle! Lookout for our album coming soon… excited for you to see it.
Thank you so much. I just subscribed to your channel, and please let me know when your album comes out (and how to find any other music you have put out). I hope the folk festival was a great time. There are just too many fantastic events all the time to attend everything! And, yes, if possible, it would be marvelous to collaborate on something or other.
I had no idea you were making this during the event! I had a blast there and really enjoyed all the fine musicians we had for the weekend. Thank you so much for doing this, see you soon.
Thanks so much. It was an excellent event. The same organization will be presenting a First Battle of Manassas event next July. I'm expecting that it will be good.
Really great & informative presentation... I'd not heard of this Battle, so I am glad I learned about it today, and particularly the historic figures who served in this engagement... Thank you Roy!
@@30thVirginiaSharpshooterBn For certain, I'll be at Cedar Creek. I'm not sure about doing something sooner than that, but I may. I'm hoping to go to Bentonville. Historical Impressions (who did this Kernstown event) is also planning a First Manassas event and Cedar Mountain. I suspect that those will both be good ones. Hope to see you soon!
Good show and admire your enthusiasm. I visited the battlefield back in 2011 with Scott Patchan, but was left with the impression that there was really nothing there except for the Pritchard House and its immediate surroundings. Was there land acquired since 2011? In any case, a return visit to the Valley seems to be in order.
Thanks for your positive feedback. I'm actually not sure if more land has been acquired, but I can at least say that the battlefield seems very well maintained, unlike some other battlefields that are under serious threat. It was a beautiful day there, and the event itself was really well done. The same reenactment event people will be putting on a First Manassas event next year (though I don't know the details of that). I intend to participate because this Kernstown event went so well.
Outstanding video Mr. Roy! I love the part where y'all are having to carry the wounded through the civilians and you pointed out it was like 1st Manassas. That's a dapper hat you are wearing, Phil Sheridan?
You slaughtered us, so we needed stretcher bearers! LOL However, the most important thing is that we had enough field musicians to hold all four corners of a stretcher! Thanks for helping to keep reenacting alive.
You have a good impression and attitude, your the correct age, even your hairstyle looks right . Step your game up and attend a Liberty Rifles event and never look back .. nice work.
@@Rememberingcivilwarhistory7744 It was an excellent reenactment, so I was happy to document it. Lots of great people participated. And I liked that wagon a lot too!

You are most welcome. Yes, it's a lesser known battle of the Civil War, but a very interesting one!
Excellent production
Thank you so much, my bagpiping comrade!
Amazing video. Well done Roy!
So glad you enjoyed it! It was an excellent event!
Thanks for sharing pard! I was on the other side of the stone wall that day and also the feller on the rock at 8:10. Love the video!!
Excellent! Glad you made it into the video! It was a truly wonderful reenactment, wasn't it?
@@mr.roywulf Me too! It truly was and I look forward to more events at Kernstown. What's your next event?

Love being featured in these vids 🔥
So glad to include you as a co-star!

Thanks for the compliment on the hat. It's my favorite Civil War hat because it keeps the sun off even better than Phil's!
@@mr.roywulf I was always partial to straw hats especially in the summer.

Are you wearing an Ohio state jacket???
@@wrohrbacher Yes, indeed. Well spotted! I also have an OVI belt buckle. My great great grandfather was OVI, but a different unit.
