Good point, Andy. I played in Scotland for the first time this summer and never once thought or wanted the greens to be faster. Nairn was likely the fastest and it was probably running at a 10 (with 60 km/h winds mind you). Keep the game simple and lower the damn cost.
I'm a PJ Boatwright Intern for the golf association in Cincinnati so I got to go to the golf museum and library at USGA HQ in Liberty Corner this year. Bob has one of the best jobs in the world and he's awesome to listen to.
Happy birthday to Fried Egg Golf! If you're interested in a modern golf course architecture story, check out this video highlighting the recently completed bunker renovation project at Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee: th-cam.com/video/g0FFr5Dc5K0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OUcmdtlW7x2eFidR
Really well said about covid's impact on private clubs. Industries like private golf need to completely drown in order to make way for new ideas that prioritize longevity to flourish, sadly. Covid came too soon and allowed these bastards to learn and change nothing.

Happy Birthday! I love all of your content, especially the GC architecture content. Please keep going.
Happy 9 years!
Just going to assume that's pure grain alcohol in that mason jar because such a vessel for water would be an interesting choice
