how do guys. I dont have onboard gas mounted. I went for a small 3.5kg bottle but blimey, they are harder to find than hens teeth. cost me 50 quid and I've not even been out in the damn van yet. I'd deffo think of an induction hob but for one thing. I only have lead acid batteries (2x130ah) and a hob would kill my batteries. Maybe when viv-i-van's channel starts to take off I might be able to go lithium but not at the moment my plans for doing so got killed by the horrible mechanical stuff I had to get fixed-literally 4K gone in 5 months. The area you have gone to is very beautiful. when mum was alive we went all round there in our motorhome. Port patrick, New england bay and the area round there are gorgeous. I'm aiming to get back up and do a video up there myself. I have to say I love the warm and natural feel of your videos. You really do make folk smile. glad you got sorted with the gas though. Its getting harder and harder to find stations that do it. tbh I'd not trust google maps with a camper. I'd get a truck satnav that knows the size of your rig and wont send you down horrible narrow roads. Its a nightmare. I tore my fiamma awning off the motorhome near St Andrews on one of the roads the tomtom took me down. I literally saw it come off and fly over a six foot hedge. then the bloody tomtom said "you have reached your destination" at a dead end....near a field full of sheep near Knock hill. Looking forward to the follow up vids. as ever, much respect and regards-Kenny
Hi Kenny you have been through the ringer mate, and we feel for you, I think once your on the road you won’t regret it, we certainly don’t, gas is a dying industry for lpg so as we are mostly on sites during the winter and using electric, an induction stove makes it easier, Thanks for your support and very kind words, and look forward to seeing you on the road making your vlogs. Thanks again bud 🙏🙏👍🚌
I thought “that can’t be right” (regarding the gas) but I googled and it came up with Kilmarnock as being the closest too. I assumed you could get gas all over the place. Shows you what I know 😂
Lynn here on Hubby's phone 😏, Hi Steve and Lorna , what a journey , this next site looks a long way from anything 🤔, how far away is the beach ?, Being nosey, might I ask how long are you on this site for ?, is this near your Daughter ?, Can't wait for the next one , but poor Lorna in the mud , Take Care you two xx
Hi Lynn lol we are always getting stuck these days. We are here for 14 nights and it’s about an hour and a half over to mitra our daughters place, got doctors appointment tomorrow so going over there, there is a beach behind culzean castle but it’s a rocky one and about a mile walk from the site, you can be as nosey as you like, it’s nice that you’re interested. Catch up soon take care 🙏👍🥰
@@wanderingbychoice Lynn on Hubby's phone again 😏, Thanks Steve and Lorna , hope Doctors goes well 🤞, Your lucky to get an appointment, I can't even get my review 😡😠, Take Care xx
hi Robert Scotland has blown us away so far, the friendliness the beauty and the wind of course, no seriously, we have been before but tent camping and that was great, but in a van or moho it is something else. thanks buddy and hurry up and retire lol
It sounded like you were really struggling to obtain LPG up there.. We used one of those induction hob cookers in a glamping tent, Samantha found it hard to use. Will it not be too high amperage for use on a camping site. I have no idea what power they consume. Samantha said you will also need special pans for it, you cannot use normal bottomed pans apparently.
Thanks guys Samantha is right need induction pans but we brought old pans with us in case this happened, we just hoped it was not as hard to get as people were saying, but it is. as for amps john you can get adjustable heat versions and will run off our eco flow if it becomes a problem. it is just an idea at the moment but if we don't get some when we head off in 10 days time I think we will have to. all the best and safe travels...
great blogs love them, i have a question why do you wait until you are out of gas cant you top up from time to time whilst travelling ,, keep up the blogs
Hi Stan thanks for your kind words, we have been topping up when we can, but on this occasion we were on that site for a month, and use our towcar for running around, so had enough gas for the month , but it’s getting harder to find and garages that stop selling refillable lpg don’t update their website, it’s only a small stress but an induction hob will help. Thanks again 🙏👍🚌
I have a single 11kg Gaslow refillable bottle, but not filled it up yet. You mentioned having a normal calor gas as well for a backup.... Do you think that this is the best approach??
Hi Albert so far we have found lpg, but it has meant several detours, I think having both ways would be my choice, but how you plumb that together is a thing for a gas fitter, hope it helps 🙏👍🚌
@@alberttickle1106 yeah you could do that, and test the joint with a tester or some soapy water, we have gone more towards electric while it’s winter and we are on hook up, and our little oil filled radiator has worked a treat 👍🚌
Really, fancy laughing at her muddy episode Steve …..heh heh , I did too. Thanks both very entertaining.
Hi frazel I couldn’t help myself lol, that sort of thing happens to us a lot. Glad you enjoyed it, ATB 🙏👍🚌
The media packs fitted in my van is the same and I fully agree with you.
Hi mick, I’m glad it’s not just me, worst media pack I’ve seen or used, will replace it sometime, ATB 🙏👍🚌
Wandering!you uploaded gorgeous , see you on my side. 🤚
THANK YOU

Hi Nikki it’s a bad time for gas at the moment and I can’t see it changing anytime soon, I too thought it would be easier than it is.🙏👍🚌

Hi Steve we use an induction hob now and again. The gas situation seems to just get worse.
It does mate, makes no sense to me, and the pumps are never looked after and the price for calor bottles is daylight robbery. 👍🙏🚌
What's the dongle thing you wear around your neck, like a big disc!
Hi I wondered when someone would ask, it’s a magnetic disc for a insta go 2 camera that I use but forgot to take off, all the best 🙏👍🚌
Apparently l.p.g is getting harder and harder to get.
Hi John it seems that is the case , but we are making do as long as we are on campsites.
Thanks for watching 👍🙏🚌

@@wanderingbychoice cheers....i guess I could simply swap the pipe over from one tank to the other as necessary.
