Two of my all-time favorite amp designers!! I'm a Fryette guy these days with a desktop Synergy Fryette Deliverance -> Fryette PS100 -> Fryette Power Load IR and also have a few of Dave's amps. Love my Little Sister and it sounds HUGE through the PS 100. The golden age of modern amp designers!! Great show!!
Another legendary episode. Steve kills it. You guys all rule of course. I was a regular customer of Motor City Guitar/Marty before I moved. Feels just like hanging out there with you guys and Marty. Always the best to you and yours! 👍🌏🌍🌎😃🇨🇦
Yep was wondering about that exact scenario of using the power station to serve as a load / DI for its own internal power amplifier, and then use that to turn my outboard preamps into a full amp / DI rig. That video Steven mentioned was really helpful and it opened up a whole new world of uses. I'm now using the power station as a way to add a power amp and go direct! Not that the internal power amp sim in the IRX sounds bad but this is just a shade more authentic.
Volume rolled off Strat into my cranked Ultra Lead module through an LX II is my GO TO sound! Of course, the Dirty Shirley module is in slot two as well ;)
If you have a Synergy SYN-1 or 2 and a Power Station, you do not need the Cyclopes to run it with an amp. Just use the Synergy in the FX loop of the Power Station like you would if you were adding it as an extra preamp to an amp with an FX loop. Plug guitar into the Synergy and the guitar out of the Synergy to thin input of guitar amp. Plug the speaker out of the amp into the Power Staion like normal and the out to the speaker cabinet. When you hit the bypass button or footswitch on the Synergy it will switch to them amp. If you use the FX loop on the Synergy for effects it will work for both the amp and Synergy preamp. YOu will have to play around with the grounds to eliminate and ground loops and the HI/LOW switches on the effects loops to get it to match properly but you won't need isolation transformers. Sorry I'm not trying to take sales away from Steve I just thought it might help some people.
I left to watch it but I’m back Ya the henning review was funny but it was also informative and really did show the flexibility of this amp.. the cleans are beautiful but it’s an equally remarkable high gain tone/tones
Stopped to watch Henning's video, I feel like we saw what Henning's humour is like behind closed doors and I'm so here for it. The cleans are the most incredible I've ever heard and I need them
Thanks for dealing with two of my questions in a row, was busy at work and trying to rush them in quickly so I could watch later lol. Great show! Marc, any chance of getting Obeid Khan on the show?
I'm pretty sure that I have watched every single Tone Talk episode. This was another good one. I know I've learned a little more each episode. Here's something I've been waiting to ask Dave or Mark or Steve. I play through a '59 Bassman Clone Amp which I really enjoy. That amp keeps me honest as far as my playing goes. I like playing it at about 7 or 8 on the Normal channel everything else set at noon mostly. the last couple gigs I found myself having kinda weird discussions with the tech working the board. Telling me I'm too loud and bullshit like that. The place sat over 1,200 folks so one 45 Watt Bassman is absorbed for sure. Anyway, I've been looking everywhere for an attenuator for the Bassman, but there's an Ohms issue involved. Is there something that Dave or Steve have available for this taming of the Bassman issue? Thanks again for your great shows. Shane
That UK blues rock band that the guitarist used an Ultra Lead was The Hamsters. The guitar player was Slim. He was a great player, maybe still is for all I know, and his tone was phenomenal. I've wanted a UL ever since I heard them, but some reason never had the dough at the right time. And yeah, I remember him getting crap for not having a Marshall.
Love Fryette, the power station is probably the best tone solution anyone has offered in 20+ years. I couldn't imagine guitar playing life without it. Sidenote: I think stainless frets feel a bit different and we want to hear that as sound, but it isn't. I totally agree that you're not going to get that string grind on fading vibrato, but a bad fret job or two and you might be alright with that.
The only amp I can think of that might be similar in design to the Marshall vintage modern Though the Marshall didn’t get the two gain stages to be able to switch them from clean to dirty on the fly
I must say, that as mainly person in audience, Im getting sick of quiet stage. Its effin boring. Totaly boring. All the bands, that has silent stage and use only modelers sounds booooring. Like record played loud from home stereo. Not like live act. On stage, drums should be loud, guitars louder them drums and bass the loudest instrument on stage. Also pure PA voiced gigs wrecks my ears much more then guys with minimal PAs bladting their 100watt amps and I stand in front row of such a gig.
Would have loved to hear Steve finish his reply to question about even and odd harmonics. The professor was seriously gettin to the crux of the biscuit..
He was still explaining. He hadn't summarized the complex topic .Dave didn't get a chance to add his two cents either. Would have loved to hear that get more attention. I still learned some new though. I know time was ticking. Thanks for the show
Marc, you do just an amazing job at moderating, contributing and keeping things going. I really appreciate the time, effort and quality you and Dave deliver every episode. Steve is so knowledgeable and gets right into the nuts and bolts and then some! Literally could have an entire episode on some of the single topics alone.
No one ever wanted a 30w bass amp b15 aside. Doesn’t have the energy. Same with guitar amps. 20w has the sound but doesn’t have energy a 100w does. Physics. None of this is a necessity. So from there we want the most practical and badass things. Uber will get there. A sports car will too. We’re fortunate to be able to decide in this day and age.

Steve Fryette is legend. Love my Power Station, CLX, Memphis and GP/DI. Can't wait for the new version of the GP/DI!
Finally! I've been hoping for something like the Cyclops. Thank you, Mr. Fryette! 🤘🤘

Another great show! 👏🏼😊
When Steve is on you know its going to be a pour a glass and settle in type of chat. Always great. Cheers Steve, Marc and Dave🥃
As Dave says, Scent Of A Wheelchair Pillow really is the best name ever!
Great guest.

Great episode!! So fascinating to hear masters like Dave and Steve talk about how much psychology that goes into developing guitar related products.
Steve sounds like Edward Norton. ❤ this episode
😄
Great show! Mr Fryette is on another level. Cool dude. I have to check out the new deliverance amp.
My god, that Fryette Deliverance Cab sounds amazing!
Volume rolled off Strat into my cranked Ultra Lead module through an LX II is my GO TO sound! Of course, the Dirty Shirley module is in slot two as well ;)
I love the show and Steve and all the Fryette products, man he can talk. wind him up and let him go :) I am joking, he is a wealth of knowledge.
The Fryette PS100 changed my whole rig. Can’t rave about it enough.
I call him Doctor Fryette The neurosurgeon of amps !😁 Seriously put a set of scrubs on him and tell me he doesn't look like a surgeon🤣
Personally I love stainless frets. Means I likely never will have to re-level and recrown those frets.

He’s the best
Bruce Nelson is the man!
The deliverance module is great
The Radial Engineering "The Phazer™" is a great little helper for phase issues
I left to watch it but I’m back

1:30:46 Eddie sounded like such a hunter/gatherer. One of the best because he was the guy next door.
right out of the gate - LOL!
I'm not going to lie the story about that red Marshall really made me jealous!😡😁
8:41 Steve just rules!😂😂😂
Thanks for dealing with two of my questions in a row, was busy at work and trying to rush them in quickly so I could watch later lol. Great show! Marc, any chance of getting Obeid Khan on the show?
😊love the Nelson guitar. But my question is which powerstation should I use with my '68Super Reverb?
Tone talk rock!!
I only buy 100w + amps. I play with loud drummers. Also need the headroom to keep the low end tight. I'm sure most 50s could keep up but not all.
I'm pretty sure that I have watched every single Tone Talk episode. This was another good one.

1:02:00 for the new magic Fryette box of happy times Power Station integration.

A friend of mine found a Hammond organ at an estate sale and bought it for 50 bucks

Agreed, silent stage gigs have absolutely no energy.
Would have loved to hear Steve finish his reply to question about even and odd harmonics.

I think he explained it really well and in depth. 🤷♂️
He was still explaining.

@@germancarluvok we can’t go for 5 hours man. Gotta move along. Email him for more on that topic. Thanks
there was a lot of confusion in that particular answer

The guru talk on the slowness of the magnetic field of the big output transformer is complete BS. The field changing is instant, faster than light.

You guys are acting like the IR question was ridiculous. Do most of your customers not want their sound to go to FOH?
