I may have grammar error due to exhaustion, but I hope this somehow explains a little questions from anyone!
I had set it up in 2x speed too, and at first I was like… 2.5 hrs… I can’t do this in one setting- And 2.5 hrs later and I can most definitely agree. Worth it. Especially the narration, it fits the feeling of the game so, so good.
As someone already pointed out in the comments this game is probably a metaphor for leaving a abusive relationship; romantic and not. I want to delve more into that theory though. In the scenario we're you take the cat home if you don't have all your attention on the cat it acts really negatively. The cat will try to make the thing your doing to be about it. Even if you do pay attention to the cat it still hurts you. The reason I think why is because for some abusers they can't be happy unless their victim is not; so YOU has to be in pain for IT to be pleased. Even in the paths were the cat doesn't directly hurt you, You still ends up dying. One of which You had to metaphorically give everything to the cat. The mouse one I think the cat is only angry because they touched "his" human. It can only hurt them kinda scenario. It also displays a lot of jealousy. When you go to the dog park It HATES it. It doesn't want you there and doesn't even try to hide it. Extreme jealousy is also a common sign of a abuser. Honestly this game is a nice slow burn. The ending really does sell it. In my opinion I do think It really did love You but as You said "that isn't enough." When it said I hate you I think he does think that but he only really said it because he wanted to hurt You one final time. In my conclusion It loved You but not as a equal but as a object. He wanted power over them, to break them, to own You. This is just my own opinion though so you can take it with a grain of salt. 🤷 Anyways I loved the video and your voice. 👍
I would second this idea, but couple it with the idea that the Cat is a metaphor for someone or rather something taking control over your life to get whatever it wants out of you. Just like any abuser would benefit from it infact. The whole set of choices always being ones given to you based on what you are SUPPOSED to think are your choices, is in the reppertroir of an Abuser known as Gaslighting and Manipulation. Even what may seem as simple yet weird of a plush cat suddenly attacking, is gaslighting against the Person; to make them think they got a Toy... something they can do with as they please... when it was a living being fed up and retaliating to get its way. Just as the Abuser wanted you to think one way, to then get you when you are at your most vulnerable. Even if you say screw it, the abuser toyed with you. Meaning your Theory really holds up. IT is an Abuser, who relishes in having control over others until they become part of its mad desires to control what it sees as prey.
There's this part where the MC talks about "unconditional love" It's implied that the day the MC meets the cat, they were abandoned by their parents... The abuser found its victim when the victim is at their most vulnerable point. The MC also says that the "love" IT provides is anything but "unconditional" IT only loves you if you let IT play with you. (im sorry if this is wrong lol)
Tbh, I get people becoming toxic after trauma but I just don’t understand what could make anyone be ABUSIVE, like there’s a difference between being mentally ill and emotionally unstable vs the cruel calculating methodological violence that abusers, just like the cat inflicts on its victims, I usually feel so bad when the villain gets defeated but that little sack of shit had it coming, if this game does represent abuse I’m very happy that the mc found a happy relationship/cat after their abusive one

This might be a horror game, but with you voicing EVERYTHING, it's more then horror, it's Terror. It gives me a long-term feeling that doesn't feel good, this game is probably the scariest game I've ever seen, and that's saying something
This “Cat” reminds me of Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls. They both have a lot in common. For one, they are demonic creatures who wish to manipulate and control as well as having basically an unknown backstory, but nonetheless seemingly having a bad past which led them to who they are now. This is why I like this game. The villain’s motivation isn’t just “I wanna take over the world!”. It has a cause and effect that makes sense which is why I appreciate a lot.
I hope we get backstory about the cat. The fact that it's so evil must stem from it's past. Why it hates humans and other animals. In one of the playthroughs it said people had gone missing in the area. Probably previous owners.

I like to imagine "It" is why the True Ending cat looks so scuffed up. "It" was stealing the identity of an actual cat, to lure victims in via any stray cat posters, and so it beat up the cat whose identity it stole. Then the protag finds said cat and there's this mutual understanding.

Just my personal theory not the real actual explaintion nor real story: Feel like the mc(main character) is stuck in some kind of limbo or hell that where he have to paid for his actions (abused the cat or kill it) while he’s still alive or he get so traumatized that he can’t get it out of his mind even he passed away
This is just a fictional game. Please do not let this stop you from adopting black cats, as most who aren’t adopted end up being euthanized or used for horrible things. In the end, it shows the mc adopting one anyways, which is quite cute, and non-threatening.

Just my personal theory not the real actual explaintion nor real story: Feel like the mc(main character) is stuck in some kind of limbo or hell that where he have to paid for his actions (abused the cat or kill it) while he’s still alive or he get so traumatized that he can’t get it out of his mind even he passed away
