It's not a bug, it's realidtic. In real life, all manual cars will push forward on their own if you lift off the clutch on first gear. This is because engine revs are connected to the wheels through the transmission, and revs are whats giving power to the wheels, not the pedal. Most engines will STALL if the revs go below 700/1000 because 0 revs= engine not working, so most cars will automatically keep the revs on that range (the built in computer manages that and many other things) Now, the transmission is built to transfer the engine's power to the wheels, and the transmission is saying first gear, so the wheels will have some power and move "on their own". You can avoid this by clutching in or shifting to neutral, since these will disconnect the engine from the wheels, allowing both to spin at individual speeds. And this has nothing to do with the drift mechanics

I believe the car still moving forward in 5th has to do with the fact physics are modified to be able to take sharp corners in high gears, and we don't have N or clutch it's an arcade game so the car can't just simply stall, it has no relation with the drift Mechanic's weird movement on exit, which is due to a simulation of counter steer and wheel spinning while regaining grip after a drift
