  • You will find some of the tallest roller coasters in the world right here in America! The country is home to 7 of the Top 10 tallest roller coasters in the world... With so many record breaking roller coasters in America, here is how the top 10 tallest stack up from one another! The taller the roller coaster - usually the better it is. Not only do I list out the top 10 tallest roller coasters in America, I also share my thoughts on which park could build a taller roller coaster than the current record breaker.
    The tallest roller coaster in America is 456 feet tall, which is 36 feet taller than the 2nd tallest coaster in the country... So if a theme park or amusement park here in America plans on breaking the record, they will have to go sky high!

    I actually think that capacity for TT2 might be better than Dragster. Hear me out. I never rode dragster, but according to an old Coasterforce POV, the Dragster launch needed an approx. 45 second cooldown (from clearing of the block zone) before it could launch again. That is as long as the ride duration of TT2 (from the POV and off-ride animation which is probably slower than the real deal to subvert expectations) until the clearing of the block zone. LSMs don't need to cool down and reset unlike hydraulic launches, so if operations are fast (they probably will be) and the ride is reliable (hopefully), a train could theoretically launch 50 seconds after the previous train, as opposed to 1 minute for the original. This could translate to up to 6 extra trains launched every hour and 72 extra trains daily (in a July day where CP is open from 10 am-10 pm). This comes down to 1440 extra riders per day, just from the faster capacity. Let's not forget that each train holds 20 riders instead of Dragster's 18, so the number of extra riders per day will be much higher than the figure I have given, and Dragster was closed for spurts of downtime which TT2 will almost certainly improve on. So capacity will (hopefully) not be an issue.

      With TT2 not having seatbelts, it will load and unload much quicker than Dragster did. The Intamin seatbelts have no slack and many times the ride ops have to help half the riders on a given train to buckle them. That and better reliability will maintain higher capacity than Dragster had.

    My son and I have ridden the front row on all 10 coasters (counting the original TTD since it has the same height as TT2). We have not experienced a rollback on TTD or KK, but if we did, I'd count that as a separate credit. TT2 will allow us to experience a rollback as part of the regular ride. We've ridden the left side of Superman: Escape from Krypton, but still need our coaster credit for the track on the right side.

    I'd be a big advocate for a Buc-ees 500 foot coaster. Let's make it happen.
    In all seriousness, Buc-ees should start adding tiny carnival rides at their larger facilities. That would be very popular. Imagine a Buc-ees with attractions on the roof including a scrambler, a bounce tower, a tilt a whirl, a wacky worm and an SBF Visa spinner in addition to midday games. You KNOW people would stop for that.

      I’ll second that, the only coaster to ever make me go black for a second or two, (only once though out of 15 or so rides) as it seems I’m not very susceptible to this sensation … I wish I could’ve experienced it before the first turn was reprofiled, coming to halfway through the airtime hill was incredible, I will say that Ka’s launch is my number one element I’ve ever experienced though

    I'm sure Texas is jonesing for the tallest coaster. Perhaps a ground up Zamperla strata which doesn't necessarily follow the pattern of TT2 or KK, but may incorporate the Drachen Spire (twisted spike) and a few launches to get it to height.

    Been on 7/10! Need to get out West as my credit count is very eastern US driven. Tough to tell where the next could go, as we don't know quite how the merger will leave those parks in terms of spending habits, but I would guess Great Adventure could be a contender. Lots of space there. Could also see Canada's wonderland (I know it's not US).

    I hope that it is Cedar Point being my home park, but I feel like if it were to happen in the US, it'll end up incorporating the landscape (ALA Falcon's Flight)....so maybe it won't be any of the current day major parks.

    Personally I’d love for Kings Island to take that record for the US. Location wise them; Dollywood, SDC, SFSTL, HW, and SFMM are the only ones I could see it happening due to the available land the park has and FAA restrictions.

    From this list I have only been on Goliath & Superman at Magic Mountain. As far as breaking the record I would have said (of course) Cedar Point, but, realistically, I just can't think of any parks here in the USA who would want to spend that kind of money just to grasp that lofty a title. As it stands, they had to go outside of the USA in order to secure that record and it is being financed by non USA entities eventhough Six Flags stamped their name on it. I just don't feel that aspect of the coaster wars is still alive here on US soil. I think the focus is more for spectacularly thrilling creations like the RMC's, Velocicoaster, interactive dark rides...etc...

    Would've been a much better video if you made it about drop instead of height. Nitro and Diamondback both have have drops of 215' which is bigger than Intimidator's 211' drop, and heights of 230' but don't make the cut because they're not 232' ? That's WHACK my friend. Other than that I enjoyed this video, so thatnks for posting anyway.

    If you look at the best new rides in the last 10 years it is amazing what they do with layouts and styles of needing a height not more than 200 feet. Just don't see a reason why a park would want the hassle of such a big coaster.

    • @tc6818
      @tc6818 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-jo3hp3ip5r I realize math is hard for a basement troll. But you can't ignore the laws of physics. If the tower is 36' taller, the train must be traveling faster in order to clear the top hat. Ignoring friction and air resistance: 1/2 x m x v^2 = m x g x h. Where m is the mass of the train, v is the maximum speed of the train, g is earth's gravitational constant (32.2 ft/sce^2) and h is the height of the top hat. Canceling mass and solving for velocity, the equation becomes v = sqrt(2 g h).
      If we plug in the value of g, the equation becomes: v = sqrt(64.4 h)
      If we round 64.4 down to 64, we can pull it outside the square root function as the value 8. Our equation becomes: v = 8 sqrt(height).
      Kingda Ka:
      v = 8 sqrt(456)
      v = 171 ft/sec = 116.6 mph
      Top Thrill Dragster:
      v = 8 sqrt(420)
      v = 164 ft/sec = 112 mph
