I always said that about Potter how useless he was with strikers. It's like he was desperate to get rid of as many as he could as he seemed to prefer putting on an extra man in midfield than having a striker. I remember one season he went without a striker most games as the only one he'd kept around was Maupay who was often "left out of the squad completely for tactical reasons" . Too many people (hipsters) bought into the playing style they forgot that Brighton always looked completely toothless up front under Potter. His solution was to bring welbeck in and have him take (and miss) penalties.

I’ve rated him since his championship days, Coventry sold him for way too cheap. Always thought he’d move to a mid table prem side. Guess he picked the right career move
think he was entering the last year of his deal so they had to sell. Madness though that no other premier league club took a punt. Palace have been desperate for a striker for years and they already know they can offset any outlay against selling Olise and/or Eze for big money in the future.

Last season Sporting were losing 0-2 against Porto up until they subbed Gyokeres with 4 minutes to go and he manages to score two goals to tie the game that Sporting was getting dominated in. Gyokeres is unbelievable.
