He was not happy with Persephone at that time. And my Persephone (at Kennedy Center) seemed really upset to see Eurydice go up there and I'm not sure it was just because Persephone held a special place for them in her heart. What do you think?
Yeah, I thought this section had some sexual undertones to it as well. Makes the song a lot darker than it already is, but I feel like that's a fair interpretation of the lyrics.
i'm thinking it's a double entendre. cause it can also be connected to her "dying" and going down (to hadestown) and laid out (like laying someone to rest). personally, i don't want hades to be a cheater so i think i'm not gonna perceive the sexual interpretation lol
