Each time I see those mini amps (got the SLO one) I remember the time I was fighting the drummer with a weak 20W solid state amplifier in the 90's... If only I had one of those little beast it would have been way enough for what I needed at that time😄
The efficiency of the speaker plays a huge roll too. You can double the perceived sound with a speaker that has +3db. I guess I'm a little late for that information to be useful. I wish I would have known.
The problem is on export from Ableton. Sounds good in the DAW but once exported it sounds completely different. These short clips are just put up after experimentation to try to fix the issue.
@@marshallmel hm? are you clipping in ableton? sample rate set to 44+kh? dithering off? whats your pre export Db/RMS? I might be crazy and wrong it just sounds hyper compressed which can be fixed with some simple gain staging. It looks like you're using an sm57 which ive gone through a lot of, have you experimented with different angles towards the cab? do you have a post chain? edit: i want to make sure that its obvious I adore the amp.
I think these little amps (the Friedman, Soldano, Bogner, Diezel) sound really good for what they are. The recording sounds good but you can hear that it's "small" if that makes sense. Not that it is bad, I doubt in a mix with a band it would sound as small. Don't take what I'm saying as a rip on the amp, it's not.
Of course it makes sense, dude. They ARE small and lower powered, therefore the amplification is not so powerful, meaning thinner scratchier tone. For full headroom, bass end, harmonic qualities and thickness in distortion too you need a higher powered, good quality amplifier (along with the big speakers), simple as. I mean, now you could copy a good high powered amplifier sound using software and fit that in a smaller head or something, though that's still just trying to replicate a proper amp at the end of the day and the fact remains.
Sounds great. I have the mini SLO and run it through a Marshall 4x12 and it unbelievable the sound these little monsters put out!
Ive got the bogner mini on the way and plan on running it through my 412 cab with v30s in it. Should sound good.

yeah , ive got the Bogner dealio . . and it sounds great thru a marshall 2x12
if you ever needed a demo to tell you how much the speaker matters.

@@marshallmelThat isn't possible unless it is user error. . Due a null test and see. what is in the daw come out that way.
Sounds great.
Great playing and amp
Slider approves this video
Slider needs to learn how to get better recorded clips.
@@marshallmel Slider needs to be spelled Slyder, if you don't add a Y, it is not the same.

I've had the Soldano a few days now. I'm surprised at the volume but I'm underwhelmed overall. It sounds "good enough" but far from inspiring.
I totally agree. I think bigger amps are better for this reason. You can just hear the size of the headroom.

Ok now listen to this again with 2 other Amps but don’t look at the video and in sure you’ll change your mind
Your eyes bias your ears m8
@@DavidGarcia-pi9wn I doubt my opinion will change. I’ve heard them side by side with the big boys.
When using a 4x12, was the sound coming from all four speakers or just the one ?
All, they are all wired to one input jack!
but a mic on one speaker, though the others have a subtle phase cancellation effect.
lmfao wow! Bigo speaker box with a tiny amp that packs a punch. Rock the F on!!
Almost too much.
Really?
