i think it looks super cute and it's obviously a cool gadget to have but the tones are just as good as this format can deliver. Nothing to go crazy over.
Friedman mini BE, and then the Bogner ectasy mini, and soon the diezel mini amp. I love that companies makes litteral mini amps for home and even stage use these days instead of 25kg tube behemoths.
I had this little amp. It was fantastic for about 6 months, I loved it. Sooo fun to play. Then one day I turned it on and the vibe was gone. Something died inside the amp, have no idea what went bad but all of a sudden there was like, zero life in the amp. Had to get rid of it…..and you don’t see them around at all any more so I’m guessing other people had the same experience.
Glad he gave a honest sound out of this thing, pedal is awesome, but before I’d buy this I’d throw down a extra Benjamin and get a used Prs Mt15 or new Wangs HD15 head
I picked up my boss katana 50 mkii for $180 and couldn't be happier. For what it is, it's fantastic. I threw in an Eminence cannabis rex for another $90 it sounds very sweet.
You said at 4:15 that it is perfect for the bedroom. I may have to disagree. I've talked my wife into some interesting stuff in the bedroom but I really don't know what we could do with that. 😳
$329 for this? If it were a 1x12 combo, maybe. Once you add in the cost of cabinets, there's other options that even offer tubes and higher wattage for the same money. You're paying for the Friedman name on the front. Solid pass.
@@jimsimmons2674 For just a little more, I have two all-tube combos. Are they a name brand? Nope. Do they sound good? Yep. Can I run a stereo rig and keep up with a drummer? Absolutely. That's good enough for me.
@Matthew Fry thanks! It’s a great amp, obviously more rock n roll than metal. It’s the opposite of that, “scooped,” sound. I threw a TS9 in front of it and it rips. Even without it though, it’s great.
@@ColbyJohnson303 thanks bud! Yeah with the TS9, I’m able to get more of a modern sound if I need to. It’s crazy how identifiable that sound is. It’s one of the few times where the, “industry standard,” isn’t a bad thing, lol.
the power amp isn't doing it any favors. pete thorn's demo was all direct with IR's and it sounded amazing. there are better solid state power amps for guitar. i truly don't understand this product. a powerstage and a BE pedal is such a better sound and gives you more options
Should see what it sounds like next to that century you were going to sell me a few years ago, but flaked out. Good thing I drove down there a couple times for nothing
Sounds like exactly as advertised. I love friedman tones. The regular BE is maybe my dream amp along with the revv generator 100r. Also side note. You should 100% do a video highlighting that Les Paul. I'm very curious hearing you play it through your amps with the bare knuckle pups in there.
I have a Micro Terror as a backup amp and that has a valve preamp gain stage with a solid state EQ section into a 20w class D power section. It gets the job done but it can get fizzy even as a hybrid, but then again, I'm just not a fan of how Class D feels or sounds, it can be abrupt and stiff in its response with fizzy artifacts. But as always that's subjective and what I hear and feel, someone else might not.
Hey fluff totally off subject but I just picked up a Mesa single rectifier series 1. I had a bunch of work done to it. And she sounds like a new amp, but what drive would u recommend for it? She is BOOMING in the low end!
Pretty cool, but I'd rather get the headrush mx5 for about the same price. Your really only paying for the the "Friedman" brand tbh. 300 plus seems a bit too much for this mini amp
@@benallmark9671 The overdrive pedal version of the BE amplifier. Since this is fully solid state its like the pedal combined with a power amp in one package!
@@benallmark9671 since it’s 1 channel I can’t imagine you get pristine cleans. Maybe if you roll back the volume and keep the gain at like 1 but you’re not getting Fender Vox or Mesa cleans from this. It’s meant to give you a BE-OD distortion at more practical volumes at a lower price point 😁
marshall enthusiasts are sobbing because there's a better option than their miniature garbage for half the price in the boutique-ish market. thanks fluff, and thanks dave. kick ass.
Given that this is the best the amp probably can sound - being played through high-end guitars by a pro... it sounds pretty underwhelming. Under those circumstances, some budget amps actually end up sounding l0rge but not this one.
I'd much rather have a nice low wattage tube amp with a solid clean sound (which I do) and just run pedals for different sounds (which I also do). This is total mediocrity for the cost of two good pedals. Pass.
Doesn’t sound good👎 I’m a Solid State fanboy there’s better amps out there. The Orange terror stamp is cheaper then this and it has a pre amp tube in it.
It sounds like exactly what it is....A distortion pedal through a solid state power amp.
Exactly what I thought too. Sounded so flat and boxy in my monitors.
Just use the BE OD as a preamp, and run it through the effects return of your amp. Essentially the same thing.
I'd argue their BE pedal sounds better, lol
Honestly sounded like a direct amp sound without any cab sim or IR's added.
@@wakjob961 - Nothing beats a real tube amp. Solid state is fine for practice.

I had one the first week of release & returned it, pitched in a few extra bucks and got the Marshall DSL20. Definitely don’t regret that decision!
LOVE my Marshall DSL20; I got the combo and am also hooking in a 2x12 cab (vintage 30's). Everything I need with a sound I love!

$300, but yes

Cool idea.... but it's a hard pass for me. Sounds way too thin. Would rather spend that money on a Katana
Just bought one of these and holy balls lol I was blown by it lol it’s definitely killer
It baffles me that Friedman would stoop their standards to this product
You don’t like money?
trying to hit a market they couldn't really get to. the pedal into any real amp will sound much better.
I know tone is subjective, but I think this falls in the "you get what you pay for" category. Hard pass
True. Nothing I've heard from this thing has even slightly impressed me.
send the pedal version into any dignified power amp and it will shine.
These are very cute I would need to hear one on person and AB it with them bogner mini extasy
I'd much rather just get an orange micro dark honestly, although I do like Friedman amps, one of my dream amps being the Butterslax
I definitely like the video more than the product.

it would be great to have these things to use with an IR. Use the real preamp but a way to use an IR. no loadbox or anything.
