    I also dump the egg in a small bowl first in case it’s rotten. It’s happens often enough to be worth it. So you don’t spoil the others.

      My grandmother used to do that too because if you have chickens, there might be blood.

      That's how mom taught me. I cracked an egg directly into my cornbread mix recently & the egg had blood in it! I had to throw it all away & start over!

    My favorite! Bisquick also makes a great impossible quiche. I make it all the time 👍

    Used to add a bit of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg to the bowl too. Really brings out the custardy flavor. Totally yummy.

    What a simple recipe! It looks delicious . Also, it's easily converted to a gluten free recipe as Bisquick has a gluten-free version. One of my kids is gf, and it's difficult to find easy desserts that aren't expensive

    I am not a fan of coconut cream pies. But I am here to support you and your channel. An idea, line your cookie sheet with foil or parchment paper and if pie spills over no mess to clean. Just throw away the liner.

    Thanks Craig, keep making your easy, delicious and fast recipes. They are much appreciated by your fans. Do you think it too much to substitute coconut milk for the regular milk?

    • @FiberSpider
      @FiberSpider  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it might be overkill on the coconut flavor. Also, isn't coconut milk more watery? It might not create that custardy texture after baking.

    • @lavenderoh
      @lavenderoh ปีที่แล้ว

      Go for full fat canned or coconut cream, not the type sold for drinking and cereal. That's what my granny used and it was great. Be sure to mix it well though.

    I do like to crack my eggs separately but sometimes take the chance, occasionally with bad results. 😏 Do you by chance know the old trick of capturing the shell pieces with the egg shell itself? Otherwise you could be chasing the darn things forever. Yumm half 'n half. Always a good substitute. This recipe reminds me of the egg custard pies my daddy used to love. I can't wait to try this version. I have made egg custard pie before, but I like the idea of the added coconut. You mentioned your shaky hands. I have the same problem. Even though you would lose a lot of heat, I wonder if it would work to pour the batter while the rack is out and already has the pie plate on it. Food for thought. (Pun NOT intended. I hate it when I do that.) 😉You are such a delight to watch your taste test. 😊

    Ciao, I'm Italian and I live in Italy. Make pasta is easy: 100gr flour and 1 egg. And you have to work a long... More than 15 minutes by hand (until the pasta makes bubbles). Now you can lay down with "Nonna Papera" machine or a rolling pin (mattarello is the Italian word for this tool). And cut like tagliatelle or pappardelle. Don't forget to put flour on your roll pin and cover with flour the tagliatelle until you cook them. You can store ond day in the fridge (in a box) or froze. When you'll cook put one spoon of olive oil in the water and stir every 3 minutes . Buon appetito!

    HOWDY from the White Mountains in AZ. Love your cooking videos. I'll be making this but think I'll add almond extract and maybe sprinkle a few finely chopped almonds on top before popping in the oven. What do you think? Love the idea of a little caramel drizzle as well. Sinfully, decadently yummy 😋

    I wonder if you could make it with flaked or ground almonds?
    Hope you are well Craig?

      The Bisquick ends up making its own soft, moist bottom "crust" as it is baking. Not sure if it would separate out properly if there was another crust involved under it. If you do try it, please let us know how it turned out.
