Had my roof leak repair guy at my house and he explained how I got an "air dam" from my attic that caused a leak at a window. He showed me how a ton of heat was escaping thru the attic door into the attic and causing the snow to melt and freeze. I have never heard of an attic tent and both of my houses that I lived in for 30 years had attic pull downs. I don't know why they don't make these mandatory as a building code. Great video of what I have to do and its not expensive at all. Thanx !
Thanks for the video. Took me longer to watch it than it did to install it. Would you recommend using expandable foam instead of calking or not? I have both.
You should ALWAYS spray foam the gap between the attic access pull down door frame and the ceiling just first. Then, use some double sided tape (preferable foam) on the host. Then install the blanket and staple it to the foam. Your attempt was ok.

I installed one this morning, after the staples I taped all the edges with duct tape.
Well,I’ll be dipped in straw.
3/8 staples or1/4 ?
I used 3/8 because that's what I had. Worked well.
