The sound you played at 2:48 ... you could have played that sound all night long. What an awesome sound! Still can't decide whether to get this on the Korg Kronos.
Play on both, then choose from there. No one can dictate on what you should buy because the 1st thing is.......it's your money. Good luck! Happy shopping!
You'll probably be mad with me for telling you, I mean typing this ... Guitar Center had the Montage 7's for 15% off yesterday (4th of July Sale). I only paid $3,100. They had to order it and hopefully it will be here on Saturday. Can't wait to "get a hold of this".
Motif ES was released in 2003 having 1GB of user memory . Montage is released in 2018 having only 2GB of user memory over ES. Strange right ? . I think Yamaha are afraid to put more user memory because in such case they won't sell future products . That's why they expand only the factory library space of new products . So instead of putting 2 ram slots (user option if he want to buy 32gb of ram or flash or not over the 1gb of flash) they promote their new products saying that the factory sample memory was expanded from 700mb to 5 GB...etc etc . So they always maintain user memory as low as possible because they promote their new products using the factory sample memory size as marketing tactic . This way some users will buy the new flagships because they are tired of the factory sounds and only 1gb of flash user memory is a joke ...marketing tactics folks . Is not practical to load erase and reload sound banks by staying limited in 1gb....
Good thinking, but not quite right. The Motif XF (2010) can hold 4GB of user Flash ROM compared to its 256MB of factory wave ROM. Also, if you buy a rompler, you do so specifically for its internal sounds. Else you would be buying a MIDI controller like NI S61 and enjoy browsing through terrabytes of libraries on your PC. If you buy a TOTL synth (Motif, Kronos, Fantom, Montage...) when it is new, you are typically good to go for 5 to 10 years. The few specific sounds you are missing, you just load into the flash ROM.
motif XF will do the job as a church musician and live performer.. the montage is cool, but with that motion control i think that is great for studio. But as a motif owner from the clssic to the XF, instead of selling he xf and getting the montage, id rather buy a Roland jupiter 50 as an additional synth.
I have a Jupiter 80 and its a great keyboard. You will be very happy at how much and how well it can do things. As I explored it more and more, I quickly realized how wrong the naysayers are, and as I tell everyone please don't take my word for it. Play one like I did, you will see for yourself.
I need to decide if I'm going to get a Montage 8 or a Nord Piano 3. Played the Montage at GC and was very surprised at how much I liked it, especially the action. I play piano mainly. The Nord has the best piano sounds but still not sure about the new action.
Korg Kronos has eight sound engines, but, Yamaha Montage has only two sound engines - but Yamaha Montage , to my feelings sounds a lot better than the Korg Kronos! Am I thinking here right? Please tell me some one here, I want to understand this.
I haven't found a single good demo with the Yamaha Montage on TH-cam. This demo shows at least good approaches. You guys don't need a work station, you need a $20 toy box.
you can dim the lights down .And if thats not enough you can make a gasket that goes under the super knob like i did so now no more flashing knob (which really put me off)..
So after selling a Kilo of cocaine, I think I can finally afford to purchase this thing. Wait, is it now out dated and too old to even consider?! PS - joke about selling a key of cocaine. I do however finally have enough to purchase this Montage 8 and almost walked out of Guitar Center today with one. I just felt like I needed to do a lil more research before I pull the trigger on something more than a couple grand.
Oh, I never even thought of that (being a beginner). So the Montage 6 first key = c, Montage 7 first key = e, Montage 8 first key = a. Is there any importance to these start key differences?
there are no any differences. but for example, you may prefer drinking family sized cola and some like smaller ones. but in the end, it is still a cola. that's my analogy.
it is like putting up a Smart-tuned Smart for example in races against a supercar. the first 50 - 100 kilometers they can still pass at the same level, and then Smart will simply die
The kronos is a workstation this isnt. Can the kronos sync with a live drummer with no DAW..Two different beasts both are mind blowing.Had a few korgs but never a yamaha.Im very happy with it.
D Charger Agree. This is definitely NOT a workstation, so why take the Motif away from us? And honestly, VST bests those horn sounds by a mile. I guess it's great for live. But I'm a studio guy so it's pretty much useless for me. I do have the Kronos 88, and the Roland FA 08, which is actually my favorite because it's so versatile and easy to operate. The Kronos is a beast, but complicated and super heavy. I have started using my Kontrol 61 a lot more too. I wish I could justify getting it...
Elvin Lewis I had a fantom s but my friend destroyed all the buttons.I like my roland jv 2080 for laying down midi tracks. There all great in there own way.
I own an Sy99. Ive played the montage quite abit to and I have to say the Montage just has overall better sound quality. Dont forget its DACs and processor are 30 years newer. Actually I own an Fs1r. Thats still the best sounding FM for some reason.
maptrking Once you stop the disco lights (what the fxck were they thinking) it all makes sence.mind you every other bit of kit has got cheap and nasty flashing lights.Ive found a way to stop that...anybody who wants to no read my earlyer reply.
Nord Stage 2 pianos and rhodes much more better. Strings are so synthetic, even 10 years old Kurzweil sounds greater! Performances like 1994-1999, piece of shit...

I will give it one more year or so to get more experienced before I buy one. Their sounds are out of this world amazing.
beautiful sounding instrument! It must be like having a dx-7, sy77, microkorg, and motief all in one synth!
Wow! I'm impressed! A lot of studio and onstage applications! Price tag is heavy though.
What an awesome instrument
Nice demo man mr.side chain is a top program on the montage!!!

Great playing, lots of "feeling" :-))
Wow! This sounds amazing!
Schönes Demo TOP gemacht!
Oh wow, piano sounds great.
Great Sounds and Great Playing
Nice video, thanks. It helped me understand the function of the big flashing super horn better.
Great demo of a great keyboard.
Is it safe to say we"ve peaked out on synth technology?
Tech yes sounds no
Never, and that's the wonderful thing
i like that whup 3 whup sounds born out of flow !
Wow, great job. This is truly an inspirational instrument.
better be for 4K
u mad bro?
No talking demo says much more!!!! nice!!!!
Great sounds great keyboard montage 👍my friend
2:07 my god👏👏👏😱
Fantastic keyboard!!
This sounds awesome! Wait...4 thousand dollars? hmmm I can still live with 1 kidney right?
Work harder.
@Sea Beamsu I'm doing fine thanks... I was being facetious.
dj Royal Tee Fun fact: My Grandma has 1 kidney!
You'll probably be mad with me for telling you, I mean typing this ... Guitar Center had the Montage 7's for 15% off yesterday (4th of July Sale). I only paid $3,100. They had to order it and hopefully it will be here on Saturday. Can't wait to "get a hold of this".
Lol dj - mind if I use that? :)
Earned a sub. +like! Love it!
The way you play is very enjoyabe. +1 sub
2:07 Nice Coldplay. ;D
And Moricone!

@@followyourpassion8378 I agree
good sound, good video,..fresh my mind..
Great demo...!
Good job of demonstration thank you
It seems GREAT :-)
Great playing,
Dope sounds
nice
they have to put a good sequencer in this one day, along with user sampling, until than no buy.
sounds great though crystal clear.
That first little piano doodle sounds great,is that part of a song?would like to hear more of that, thx
sounds great!
Ça c'est trop cool👍
Awesome !!!
Is it as wonderful as it sounds and seems?
Yamaha sure has came a long way. from making old soundchips for old gaming consoles, arcades, & PC's. to making modern synthesizer's.
They made powerful synthesizers already in the 70`s...
Sensacional...!!!
Cool. What patch you have selected at 3:18secs? Kindly name it. Thanks
Schlager herz :) there is the list up :)

Roland Jupiter hahaahahaha you must be a real n00b

I agree, When you get use to the Jupiter 80 its awesome, i will never sell mine...
Roger Brenon I will only consider getting the Jupiter 50 if the keybed is the same as the 80.
Prophets Of Wisdom the polyphony on it is crazy but I'm not too thrilled at the fact that you can't add sounds to the board
super song!!!👍👍👍👍
I need to decide if I'm going to get a Montage 8 or a Nord Piano 3. Played the Montage at GC and was very surprised at how much I liked it, especially the action. I play piano mainly. The Nord has the best piano sounds but still not sure about the new action.
white bird depends on what you want to do but I wouldn't get the Nord piano either save up for the stage or get the electro 73 HP.
Excelente!

If Montage was released in 2018 then how is this video uploaded in 2016? Have he cracked the technology of time machine ?
Super👍👍👍
А де знаходяться ритмічні групи??? Не можу ніяк знайти
great !
Ohhh q hermosos song
Realmente es otro nivel el precio cuanto estara....????
They need to hire you for advertising

Yes, it’s never about the specs, but about the sound. A guitar has only six notes of polyphony. But that is not what defines it.
Why? Why such a teaser with those crystal sounds? Now I feel my new kronos is not enough 😢
I have a Kronos 2 and kinda wish I had Montage instead for it's smoother sounds and better feel.
Shahrokh K. Yea montage is better
Some of those little samples you played are great music, would like to hear more, piano stuff in the 1rt 1.5 min.
Super!, thanks, ;-)
Hi, can you create review of Roland Jupiter 80 ?
Ele fornece a síntese e o tecladista sintetiza o som desejado ?
Does it provide the synthesis and the operator synthesizes the desired sound ?
Has it got many Arpeggiators also is the body of Metal or Plastic Type.
Any chance we’ll see you do one of these with a Kurzweil PC4?
I got to save up for a grand for this beautiful piece of machinery.
You mean four grand.
I haven't found a single good demo with the Yamaha Montage on TH-cam. This demo shows at least good approaches. You guys don't need a work station, you need a $20 toy box.
Thinking of getting a Montage 6 or 7.
9
Damn it I want one! Cant afford it though.
SHOW!!!!!
~Znorm Demo Award~
Which Yamaha Montage is this? Its so cool.. please let me know,
its Yamaha Montage 6
Wont be suprised of seattle section
Was used in trance
Mola ese synth
Is the MODX newer and better, please? Or vice versa?
Let's see... if I skip four months of property taxes, I can buy this.
Reminds me of the Korg Kronos.
that pulsating knob is very irritating
you can dim the lights down
.And if thats not enough you can make a gasket that goes under the super knob like i did so now no more flashing knob (which really put me off)..
said the actress to the bishop
Karen D Thats wasted on this lot karen..
So what's your feeling about this keyboard?
If you get a chance play it on some decent speakers and you will be amazed by the depth and sound quality this thing has.
Big sounds...Way bigger price. :(
2 07 cold play
WOWWWWWWWWW!!!
So after selling a Kilo of cocaine, I think I can finally afford to purchase this thing.
Wait, is it now out dated and too old to even consider?!

I do however finally have enough to purchase this Montage 8 and almost walked out of Guitar Center today with one.
I just felt like I needed to do a lil more research before I pull the trigger on something more than a couple grand.
Did you get it?
what audio interface did you use to record this?
What sound are you using in scond 34
What is that blue knob?
The "Super-knob". Google it ;)
いやあ、懐かしい~っ
Yamaha why? Why why? Why? 😂👍🏼🎹🎶
Shit. This makes my MOFX 8 look like a child's toy. How does this compare to a Kronos?
Prize
1.5 K is still missing to get it :)
which montage is it?
I'd like to know also. My guess is the Montage 6.
yes the mon.6 , first key = 'C'
Oh, I never even thought of that (being a beginner). So the Montage 6 first key = c, Montage 7 first key = e, Montage 8 first key = a. Is there any importance to these start key differences?
not really
there are no any differences. but for example, you may prefer drinking family sized cola and some like smaller ones. but in the end, it is still a cola.
that's my analogy.
Like an arranger keyboard...
My arranger yamaha psr S910 sound better than my roland fantom xa
Хороший аппарат конечно ,но и стоит хорошо.
Mostro
In India it costing upto Rs 2,40,000 to 3,00,000.
In America it is affordable in 4 digits but in India 6 digits 😵😵😵😵
my korg kross can do almost the same... for less than that price.
it is like putting up a Smart-tuned Smart for example in races against a supercar. the first 50 - 100 kilometers they can still pass at the same level, and then Smart will simply die
I can do all of this with my laptop.
En el montage el sonido de piano principal es muy malo de tocar..con la tontería del ataque..se corta el sonido
Menudo juquete!!! XD
Nope. Still not feelin' it. Love my Moxf8 though. I have to get the Kronos. Sorry guys.
Elvin Lewis kronos is the boss😎
This sounds slightly clearer then "Kronos," and you've got more effects too......... just saying!
The kronos is a workstation this isnt. Can the kronos sync with a live drummer with no DAW..Two different beasts both are mind blowing.Had a few korgs but never a yamaha.Im very happy with it.

That thing is soooo expensive - and sounds sooo bad....cant believe
Silly knob!
maptrking nah you mean SUPER knob...😏
LOL... yes, that's what I meant ... not sure what I was thinking!! Must have been "casio" on the brain ... NO!!!!
maptrking Once you stop the disco lights (what the fxck were they thinking) it all makes sence.mind you every other bit of kit has got cheap and nasty flashing lights.Ive found a way to stop that...anybody who wants to no read my earlyer reply.
Kronos 2 is far more BETTER in every aspects
