thanks for the tutorial, very helpful. I couldn't substract the lines from all my circles for some reason but I did it separately and then combined them into one, the end result is professional. the sunburst chart option was just too annoying in that you could not manipulate it visually without entering data so this was the perfect solution.

But why doesn't MS make this easier? Just build a function where we can select a shape and choose how we want to cut the shape up into text boxes. So we don't need to make the shape, subtract divisions, fragment them, fit a text box in each segment manually yada yada yada~

This is interesting but it is not a donut chart; you are just using shapes to imitate a donut chart. It would be helpful if you explained how to actually create and modify a multi-level donut chart using the chart function.
