- This Video Is Old. It happened in 2015. But as we were getting ready for my kids boxing class this stranger walks in with black leather jacket and a book bag and says he wants to teach my class. I gave him a chance because i thought he knew the kids in class and he had some idea of what he wanted to do. Coming to realize he was full of shit so I asked him to take off the gloves and step off my floor multiple times. He had more planned than just teaching class he actually was more interested in sparring.. i gave him a chance to throw punches at me... Considering he wasted my time I smacked him with a hook and embraced him with a hug then asked him what the hell is wrong with him. He said he just wanted to teach self defense and have fun.
I told him He can't just walk in a boxing gyn and ask to teach class. ...After a tough lesson learned he humbled down took gloves off and walked out....

Man this is real. No question💯 Sometimes punishment is the key to unlock humbleness.
Kids you discipline with revoking privileges etc for bad acting works the same. It’s insane. It’s the kids you disciple who end up liking YOU over everyone else who eat them up to a fault. It’s cool, like you know what you need in life.

@@danielrobert4219 Nah, after the coach knocks the bullshit out of him, with his arm open he asks "what do you want?" and when the kid answers back coach puts his arm around his shoulder and walks him over to the side, shakes his hand and asks him his name. Clearly he stopped as soon as the lesson was learned, unlike a bully.

Sometimes those kids end up being your student after being humbled. Most situations like that is a young man trying to be a man, and searching for a real man to guide them.

@GAMETE lol I can tell you have never boxed. My trainer put me in with a semi pro guy becuase I was talking ish about how good I thought I was. This is a contact sport and in no way did that coach take advantage or try to hurt that young man.
This coach is a stand up guy. He taught that man in 5 minutes more than that man’s dad taught him his whole life .

These young men need the male energy in their life. He was willing to get his ass kicked to be around it. Then apologized cause he doesn't know how to tell the coach he needs a man in his life. The bond between a coach and student is the structure a lot of young people long for.

Beautifully said and 100% true. That Coach is definitely a true teacher. Some would have just beat the kid up and laughed him out of the gym, but he didn't, he taught that young man a lesson.

The kid deserves a lot of credit. He got humbled and instead of getting angry he swallowed his pride and apologized. He knew the lesson this man just taught him was a gift and he could have made it much worse.

Props to the young kid for even attempting to spar with coach. Coach showed professionalism seeing and accepting the young man to actually train him which was all he wanted. Big Props to coach u might of just saved the young man’s life 👊🏾 🥊

This is exactly what he needed to learn. The art of it must be practiced before it is sensationalized. It was so good it could have been part of a movie because the moment teaches respect. It shows the fighting spirit is channeled in respect for it's power. Like a person inexperienced with wielding a weapon a lack of respect and discipline can cost you more than your pride.

The coach is a great mentor. He taught this kid a very valuable life lesson. Most likely, the kids been watching a lot of tv or anime and thought he could realistically walk into a gym and mess around without any actual real proper training. Best part about this was the coach’s reaction after. That’s how you humble someone. His actions spoke louder than his words but they made a great team (his words+actions). Salute to that gym coach.

It takes a real douche to take advantage of a smaller KID who may or may not know gym etiquette, then intimidate if not actually hurt the much smaller, much less experienced guest, all the while calling them the bully even though they're bullying absolutely no one while you push them around, get in your easy shots, and bully them into keep taking it.

This brought tears to my eyes cuz I went thru something similar when I first played organized football in school. I thought I was the shit til my coach had me defending the team's best and most aggressive players. Humbled my ass quick but changed me forever in the best way. I'm 47 yo now and still talk about Coach Mathews. RIP Coach 🙏

Unfortunately it didnt work out for him at all. As far as the kid walking out the door, we dont have any evidence of what happened after the cam went off, so not sure how you arrived at that conclussion. Who knows he may signed up for a class in the office. Regardless, the guy learned a good lesson of being humble and respectful to a business owner conducting business.It would be one thing if coach laid him out cold during the sparring session, but he didnt and sure could have.

I think it's because we are warriors. Warriors always have great respect. Even for the young ones who have no direction but have fighting spirit.
I like this that boxing trainer is a good man. He is not only teaching those kids to box he is teaching them about life. Hope he keeps at it until he is too old to train. We need more brothers like him in every community.

This appears to be an onset warning sign of a potential mental health issues which isn't the guy's fault. His mental imagine of himself doesn't align with reality. Respect to the coach whom I strongly believe recognized this and resorted to defusing the situation

I really like this coach!! Instead of getting mad, brushing the kid off or beating the hell out of him he showed him compassion and treated him with respect. Coach if you read this you are exactly where you should be in life, teaching others.

Nah, that’s the way everyone who hasn’t been punched minimum 1000 times dodges, there’s still a high chance that he actually bullies weaker people around him who can’t hit properly and beats them up, not “to save his life”, though one good punch to his face showed him how it is so he started working instinctively by fearing the hits.

Honestly, some people are so in need of validation to others and even themselves they will do anything for attention and to feel tough. It’s like gambling. Some people just need to look the part instead of being the real thing.

Damn that really looks like a scene from a movie. Kid comes in acting tough, gets knocked around and shown that he isn’t... then comes back in and trains... years later ends up being a champion.

the coach was gentle. He literally knocks some sense into this kid. Never go into a gym/dojo and challenge the coach/sensei. It will not end well for you.

My High School wrestling coach was a man that I admired and respected. Sometimes you need such a man in your life. This coach humbled the young man and then reached out to him. Great job.
It's sad to see how lost so many young men are. I pray that boy is ok and he's finding his way in life. May God guide and strengthen him.

Amazing how poorly trained to behave some men are. Respect and humility are universal survival skills. That’s why good Fathers in the home are so important. Obviously this coach is an excellent father in his home.
