I've been serving at different Calvary Chapel churches for almost 30 years and I have to say Paul is one of my favorite teachers in the movement. Also, excellent job navigating the topics of roles and definitions of marriage at the end there.
The first step is acknowledging that you're lost and admitting your weakness. Ask God for His Spirit to guide you, and you'll be on the right path. Keep fighting-eventually, you will find Him. You won't get it right away, and you may even feel tempted to wander back to sin-I get it. But hang in there. Great job, I'm proud of you!
Still learning from videos from 9 years ago and i stumble across this one?!😃 Happy would be an understatement. Learning so much from your videos, God bless you
The point Paul made about Hebrew and Greek having the same word for 'breath' or 'spirit' is actually really interesting. Latin has the same word too 'anima' can mean 'soul' or 'breath' - animal in its Latin context means a living or breathing being. In English we have a certain connotation for 'animal', but in Latin any living thing, including people, can be called an animal in the basic sense of breathing or having an anima (spirit or soul).
At 11:03 Pastor Paul says this is the only time the phrase 'breath of life' is used in the Old Testament. But Chapter 1 verse 30 says "And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life..." So the 'breath of life' isn't something that's reserved for humanity. But the fact that we're made in God's own image still is. And that can mean so many things beyond just our physical appearance, so it doesn't make a huge difference to Pastor Paul's overall point. I'm not criticising or rebuking, but I thought that might have been overlooked. Life comes from God, there can be no life without God. That's why those that are not saved will face spiritual death as that's what happens if we're cut off from God. So it makes sense that the 'breath of life' is something that in fact applies to all living things.
Thankyou Pastor Paul, you are an amazing teacher. Can i just ask one question, might be a foolish question, but Gen 1:27 and 2: 21-24 are they created in the same day- 6th day?
I have benefited much from this awesome man of God 👍🏾 has the older series on Genesis been removed ? I can’t seem to find any of the videos. Is there anywhere else that I can access the older Genesis series ? I loved it ! Thanks. God bless 😊
Well, I don't know if I understood well, but the main reason for God to create a woman was to get married? If so, what happens with women that are still single even at an advanced age? Does it mean that we are not fulfilling God's purporse for creating us??? That's why I find difficult to accept that I was created by God just to be "a fitting helper to a man". I was created by God for His glory!! Amen!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
You misunderstood my comment. I was making a point about women in general. But it is clear from the Word that not every woman is intended by God for marriage. God gives to some the "gift" of singleness. My point about the women in general is that God created them to compliment men in marriage and vise versa.
@@PastorPaulLeBoutillier Thank you Pastor Paul for your comments. I have been struggling for a long time now, trying to understand why women are created by God, because all comments and studies in the Christian world, refer to the creation of the woman to be a helper for the man, but I'm not sure about this interpretation because there are differences in what it is stated in Genesis 1 and what it is stated in Genesis 2. In Genesis 1, the author just mentions that God created the man and the woman, and doesn't highlight any distinction between them, however, in Gen. 2, it is where the author (I don't know if the author that wrote Gen 1 is the same that wrote Gen 2) states that the woman was created derived from the creation of the man, which really upsets me, because, thinking carefully about it, well, one could think that the man was living during a period of time in Eden, without a woman, and, at some point, he was fine, but on the other hand, as a woman, I think that if I take what it is stated in Gen 2 regarding the creation of the woman, the woman only existed just because the man existed!!! 😱😱😱😱 Wow!! If there was no man, there was no woman, but even with no woman there was a man... 😒... and that idea is really disturbing for me!!! But according to Gen 2, that would be truth, is not it? Now I get why so many men consider women as an inferior human being🤦🏻♀️, as "something" created "because of the man", just as the Apostle Paul says, to fulfill the needs of the man... come on... is not this upsetting for a woman? And now I understand why the Jews pray " I thank you God for not making me a woman"... 🤦🏻♀️😒... I really hope you don't take my words as someone who wants to create controversy, but I honestly and sincerely I want to understand what does really the Word of God say about the creation of women. If it would depend on me, I would only keep what Gen 1 says about the creation of both, the man and the woman. Thank you again for your comments anf if you have some literature or references regarding this subject, that you could recommend to me, I really appreciate it. God bless you! 🙏🏻
Quick question: I was taught in school that when Paul told women not to teach men, he was talking about a specific group of disorderly women in Corinth (1 Cor 14:34), not women in general. I was told that he was saying that they shouldn't be disruptive, as the non-translated Hebrew command meant "don't dominate (or rule over) the church". Was I taught something wrong? I need to make sure I'm not accidentally sinning. Thanks :)
Yes, I believe that position to be in error. Paul's comments about women teaching men and about women being disruptive are entirely different with different purposes. The Apostle Paul forbade women from taking a position of authority as teachers over men because it was a breach of the headship of the husband in the home as outlined in Ephesians 5.
@PastorPaulLeBoutillier I suppose that makes sense. So women can still minister to others and fulfill church roles, but we must try not to disregard the gender roles God gave us. Can women still lead and participate in Bible studies and theological conversations with men outside of church? Are teaching situations like missionary trips okay to teach men in?
I need clarification as this has been a point of confusion for me. How can there be no shrubs or plants on the 6th day of creation when in chapter 1 vegetation was made on day 3?

Gents..this gave me chills once I saw it I wanted to share this with you. Jesus prophetic picture to take flesh and be forever joined to the church. Genesis 2:21-25 (NKJV) 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. ....three things I wanted to highlight in this verse, 1. Jesus the second Adam was put to death (caused to sleep so the wold could be saved. 2. The root of the word rib indicates to be limp, lame or bent (picture is fallen man) Jesus came to heal the lame. Woman (the church is then formed from the actions above. Drawn from the side where water and blood poorer out covering us with his blood by fulfilling his word (blood and water. 3. The word close up signifies to shut up, to join, or deliver up. What did he close up? the flesh. Verse 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. (This mirrors, the church as a chased virgin being offered up to Christ. Our groom). Verse 23 And Adam said: “This [is] now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” .... because of Christ sacrifice, the church was born, .. Verse 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. ... here is the part that drew me in... Galatians 4:26 (NKJV) but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. Jesus left the father in heaven and the Jerusalem in heaven The father and the mother of us all put on human flesh and became one flesh with his bride, (the church, the woman) forevermore 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. ..... because he was sinless in the flesh, both he and the woman that became one flesh with him are unashamed.... In these verses, I see a prophetic picture of Christ, coming from heaven to put on human flesh for us. "The last Adam" Absolutely awesome!
This is greatly helping me with my Bible study. Study question: Does this mean everyone who existed before Jesus was not Spirit filled? Including Abraham, Noah, Moses? Please someone with an answer explain to me.
A lot of this applies to what is happening right now in the dating scene and a lot of marriages women are crying out for men to take women out of their masculine energy because it’s exhausting-women are not meant to act like men and that leaves men in their feminine energy this all goes against Gods order. People are using these words of feminine and masculine energy unknowingly asking for what God as already set out for us-order.
I have a question god breathed life into adam why not into the eve. Is it that due to her coming from adams flesh? I know it says ahe was made in gods image just as adam.
"Woman is the same essence as man, created in the image of God." Have you ever considered that it is woman being created out of man, thus being of the same essence as man, that it is this which thus makes him the image of God. This would related back to Gen 1 and the plurals "(interplayed with singulars) used there " let us make man in our image ....." ïn the image of God he created him .... male and female he created them". How can man be both a plural and singulars? How can God be both plural and singular? It is in the context of Adam/man being the image of God that we have the plurals - singulars dilemnas of Gen 1 in regard to both God and man. The answer to Gen 1 what it means to be the image of God is given in the narrative of Gen 2 .. woman out of man. man/adam/Adam is the one in Gen 1 that is the image of God, yet he is dual. Gen 2 shows how Adam can be and is made to be the image of God ....singular yet dual ..... "woman out of man". Paul takes this up in 1 Cor 11 where he says that man is the image (and glory) of God .... woman is the glory of man". Paul is really saying that man is the image of God. And he is really saying that woman by and of herself is not the image of God. But he is also saying that man by himself is not completed (it is not good that man should be alone) as the image of God. Both man (the glory of God) and woman (the glory of man) are needed for Adam/man to be the image of God.
Great insight on the tree of Good and Evil - that it simply gave us the ability to choose (as God has the ability to choose). Thank you for this.
I have learned so much from this church
So have I. Im very grateful for it

Please pray for me. I want to truly find Jesus. I thought I was saved n I discovered I’m not. Now I’m struggling with what to do
i’m here if you wanna talk ✝️🫶
Ofcourse you are saved dont let the devil fool you. Our God will not leave or forsake you 🙏
You are saved if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior 🙏🏽 the enemy tries to tell you otherwise so you fall back.
If you believe Jesus died for your sins then you are saved.
I do feel like this at times…
Well done! I learned so much from your simplistic style of teaching
