    The Procure scent stays in the water when the non-Procure lure is cast. Procure has “biting stimulants”, so assuming they work, fish can bite a non-Procure lure because Procure is already in the water from the previous casts. Fish the same spot for 4-6 days and use Procure 2-3 days and fish non-Procure the other days. Nice video!

    I used Pro-cure this pass Winter and During Spring. It was noticeable more effective than non- usage on lures. My catch ratio was greater in water that didn't yield much fish. This was while other fishermen participated. Pro-cure gave me more confidence. And I caught more fish than others.

    Hey Simon, why not just tie on a cork with a lure at the bottom; one has procure and the other doesnt. cast both out and see which gets a bit and which doesnt.

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I typically get more strikes without corks because I can control the depth that the lure is being presented to fish as the depths of the water change, so that's what I used to increase the amount of strikes that I'd get in that short amount of time I had on the water.

      I understand, but I figured just dead-sticking the bait under a cork and leaving it there, one with scent and the other without, may be the best way to test it. Movement is playing a big role. the fish see the bait, so they target it. Or you could try 2 scents against each other. There are a few factors that come into play, really. If there's fish in the spot you're casting to, etc. All that. But, great video anyways, dude.

    The common harbor porpoise has an abrupt snout, pointed teeth and a triangular thoracic fin, while the bottlenose dolphin, or Tursiops truncatus, has an elongated beak, round cone shaped teeth and a serrated dorsal appendage. But I'm sure you already knew that.

    I live in the same area and have been getting 1 to many hits without a good bite so I'll be trying out this product, will post results. Mostly aiming for small snook/ reds/ and flounder the next two months.

    I haven't used any of the Pro Cure products. I was under the impression it is oil based which is why it stays on the bait so well. Being oil based I wouldn't think it would release in the water nearly as well as a water based product like the Gulp.

    I have the best result with procure when you just can't seem to get fish to hit anything...seems like sometimes it just needs that little bit of scent to get them to commit ...I've had reds follow lures to the boat and not eat , that's when I add the procure 9 out of 10 times it will get them to strike.

      @David-lu7xg 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Charles Driggers not all dogs act that way. My labrador sits still if i tell her to and wont take a fish unless i give it to her or tell her to get it

      Otis def makes for an added challenge. Here's the trip that I got the most frustrated with him... he jumped in to chase a 32" snook that I had on and would not stop chasing the snook around (I had to free-line it twice to let it get away from the dog). www.saltstrong.com/fishing-tip/clearwater-fishing-report/
      As frustrating as it was at the time, the memory of that catch was more enjoyable given the added challenge though. And Otis is fortunately getting calmer and calmer as he is finally getting past his puppy stage.

    What would be interesting test is using a slow moving lure that has a finesse style action, like the shrimp. A lure that is more for fooling game fish rather than causing them to react. So I would like to know if Pro-Cure helps with slow moving lures.

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point. I assume that the scent factor increases in importance as the lure speed decrease, but the only way to know for sure is to test it out:)

  • @FishcastAngling
    @FishcastAngling 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great idea to test out! It will be cool to see what kind of patterns you run into with scent/no scent. Personally I’ve heard and have seen some examples first hand of fish not necessarily consistently striking more with added scents, but that they are willing to hold onto the lure longer with added scents... you might try playing around with that...

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I'll def keep that in mind when analyzing the scent vs. no scent results.

    I've wade fished that exact area where you were in the 1st few minutes of the video. I was using a doa paddle tail rigged weedless. I was using procure. I caught about 5 smaller trout and a slot snook. That flat is loaded with trout.

    • @Saltstrong
      @Saltstrong  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that flat sure seems to be loaded with trout. I saw it on the satellite maps and knew that there would be some fish there. I was hoping for some snook and reds too near the island, but couldn't get any takers.

    I'm boarding the plane in Detroit heading to St. Pete today for a week of fishing. Have a bay boat down there and all the rigs and tackle you have been suggesting. I can see the Skyway bridge in the video but can't tell exactly where you are at. Can you provide some information on what flats you are fishing. I'll post some pics if I'm successful tomorrow. Thanks.

    my personal opion ia that procure works best on non active feeding fish and fishing slow so the atractent saturates the water. btw my dog acts like that and drives me bonkers. lol

    You seem to like calling dolphins a "porpoise" in your videos. You'd have though Ace Ventura would have taught you the difference. Plus porpoises don't live in Florida.

    • @Saltstrong

      Perhaps I did it on "porpoise" so that I could tell this corny joke in the comment feed:)
