I realize I'm a year late to the party but great, great, great work in rolling with the punches on the players lighting that fire and having the whole smoke/scared oxen thing. Very clever way to return their 'ingenuity' back to them.
Getting ready to run this as a first time DM. Really cool watching other people play through it. You guys have been very entertaining!

You should check out the book: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.
It has a fire-nature druid subclass called Circle of Wildfire which has fire and heal spells, and has a fire elemental companion.

I love how the healing potions just slowly got more potent lol. First it was the normal 2d4+2, then 2d4+4, then it was nearly 4d4+4.

I love how the goblin wanting the head of klarg (I cant remember the goblin name) sounds like Joey from yugioh
I'm not sure if this method is better or worse than what my players did (It is worse to stab them in the back or try to burn them alive... hmm... ). They went in the chimney, and many death saves, potions and healing spell (they had no healer other than an artificer so I let them each start with 1 healing potion) later, killed Klarg. They took a short rest. When they were dealing with Yeemik they made some promises, then attacked when they thought they could save Sildar and kill the goblins. A few goblins ran away, but most were slaughtered. They debated even taking Sildar with them or just leaving him tied up in the cave, or drag him along while tied up. They eventually untied him and he grabbed a goblin weapon so he wasn't unarmed and travelled with them (I'm not sure he totally trusts them). They left the wolves tied up in the cave.
I think if they see those goblins again (I named them instead of goblin 1, goblin 2, etc) and they'll be at the castle... but when they see the PCs they may run screaming, remembering the carnage they left at the cave. I'm not sure how that'll go. 😅
I'm still wondering about the pyromaniac druid... druids usually want to preserve nature, not destroy it. 😅 A very special druid for sure. (though I started watching DoIP first...but wanted to see where Rumshoe came from... and picked up a bit with is distrust of gnomes... I left off at Session 9 and decided to check out the previous story) ... I wonder what happens to the townmaster...
Your party sounds more chaotic than ours, and that's coming from someone who set a forest fire for really no good reason in session 1 - Equa
