  • This thing is a must in hostels without lockers, made my life so much easier in my solo trip to South America! Here is a short short short review on how to use it. Super easy!

    Unfortunately, there is a possibility to open it. It's easy to damage that included lock. After changing the lock to a better one (with guards and safe mechanism inside), it is a really good pack protector. I recommend pacsafe to everyone. Cheers

      My idea was to use locks with siren in them (siren sounds on moving it)

    I love what it does just not really crazy about the design. A pull over cut resistant bag/sleeve that can be locked would be great.

    keeps honest people honest...even a small, handheld wire cutter can defeat this

      Nope, not even close. It’s not normal wire. Have used mine for international travel through out Latin America. Beer broken into, although some have tried.

      @gregorysalazar8370 Really ? in a hostel people tried stealing ??

    • @sirsillybilly

      99% of robberies are opportunistic.
      I had a camera stolen from my bag on the last day of living in a pub in London, with other backpackers for 3 months. Even so-called friends will steal !!

    Trying to understand this. It has a steel cable but the lock is merely through plastic that could be crushed? Thanks!

      The lock is really sturdy!!!

      the plastic surrounds a steel core, stops casual theft , but if they have an angle grinder or bolt cutters , .....

    • @thegeneral123
      @thegeneral123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@technifish123 None of that is necessary. The big gap at the back of the bag can be cut into easily with a pocket knife or multi tools serrated blade, it bypasses the steel mesh and will allow you to gain access to the whole bag in a very short period of time. The only real practical use for this mesh is for attaching a bag to a table while you are eating or attach to a bench while doing photography etc nearby. It is also useful if you have a single room on a trip as you cannot gain access to the bag without causing serious damage. Which prevents low impact dipping by staff. They won't damage your luggage to gain access as it would blow back on them.
      If the bag is left unattended for more than a couple of mins out of sight of people. It's open to a cutting attack.
      It might also be useful to use this mesh while wearing the bag in crowded places as it would act as a deterrent from people trying to dip or cut the bag from behind. Though I expect it would be bag dependant as it would probably be uncomfortable to wear with it fitted.

      @@thegeneral123>> Hi, sorry, have to reply to this, There is no BIG gap at the back. When you buy the Correct size for your luggage! It pulls tight like a trawler net. The you-tube'er above used a ruck too big , or a packsafe too small... that is all. cheers.

    Do they have it for suitcase as well?

    • @FaerieDust
      @FaerieDust 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use this for a suitcase as well, just check the dimensions before you buy - they have a 55 liter and a 120 liter version. A normal carry-on bag is around 40 liters.

    can it be on a carry on at the airport??

    • @RTWgiulia
      @RTWgiulia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you wish to fill a bag protector and take the gestalt as carry on? Or are you wanting to take an empty bag protector on the plane?
      In the case of the former, it would depend on if the underlying bag, or contents, fit the specified carry on dimensions specified by the airline.
      If you are wanting to merely take the packed and folded bag protector on a plane I see no reason why this couldn't be possible. There are no sharp points to it.
