Unlike our definition of cannibalism, which is also mentioned in star wars, one would be considered a cannibal not only for eating someone of their own kind, but also other sentient beings. You are not a cannibal because you ate a steak from a cow, despite what some vegetarians might say. But what if someday we meet an alien species that looks like cows? Obviously, we wouldn't eat them, but if they saw themselves in creatures that we eat that would make future interactions awkward for both of us. Now I'm going to list every instance of cannibalism (both types) in star wars that I know of. Also, I'll try to guess which species eat the others the most and which gets eaten the most. Feel free to add more if I missed any. 1. Bossk had cannibalistic tendencies. He ate his siblings before they hatched and later his father when he defeated him. He also likes to eat Zanibar and Wookiees. It's not really clear whether it's a norm for his kind or just Bossk being a ruthless killer. It's well established in legends and cannon that Trandoshans hunt sentient beings for trophies, not so much for food. They also have a costume of eating their shed skin after a long post. Trandoshan liver is also apparently a delicacy for some people. Unless it's just a sick joke. Those lizards are very versatile, they eat others, each other, and themselves and can be eaten. 2. Previously mentioned Zanibar, their religion demanded the frequent sacrifice of sentients. It was believed that the rituals involved a feast of their enemies' bodies to give their life forces as a sacrifice to their gods. Maybe it's better for everybody that they are one of Bossk's favorite miles. 3. Certain Hutts were known to eat their enemies. They are also fond of a drink made off Rodians. Maybe that's why Jabba got so many Rodian bounty hunters, if they died or failed him, he could just eat them. 4. Humans aren't much better. Dezono Qua who lived during the rise of the Galactic Empire was a known cannibal; he purchased slaves at the market and had his droid cook them. Resa Greenbark, a Nosaurian, was one of the unfortunate slaves bought for food. "She was something…special."- Dezono Qua Certain Human cannibals were known to roam throughout the cities and wilderness of the planet Tatooine. Where else, am I right? 5. The insectoid Colicoids were known cannibals, eating off-worlders who landed on their homeworld and sometimes capturing vessels that passed too close. 6. The Rakatan individual known as The One forced many species to revert to this practice. 7. Karkarodon are known for ripping apart their enemies with their teeth. They can also go on a feeding frenzy on sentient beings when hungry or in rage. Riff Tamson munched on Mon Calamari, Gungans, Quareen and Clone Troopers aka Mandalorians aka Humans. 8. Ewoks considered humanoid flesh a delicacy, they prepare fires in anticipation of eating Han, Luke, and Chewbacca to absorb their power. They were about to eat some Stormtroopers/Humans but Leia and Han stopped them and gave them ration sticks instead. At least one member of the species wanted to eat a Nautolan and a Rodian. 9. Chewbacca, a Wookiee, was fed Han Solo, a human. Of course, he didn't eat Han, but how long was he there and what was he eating till their meeting. 10. The reptilian Marits were traditionally cannibals, as well, though the Marits' only ate those who had already died, and did so as a means of disposing of the bodies in a way they deemed beneficial to the living. 11. Anzati, natural predators, prefer to hunt sentient races of every shape, size, and species. Once a victim was within their power, the Anzati would uncoil their thin proboscises from their cheek pouches located on either side of its nose and usually inserted them into the subject's nostrils and into the cranium, where the brain was sucked out of the organism, though the Anzati fed by drawing soup out of wherever it resided in a victim, as it varied by species. 12. A member of Arcona species drank Juri juice, a drink with Rodian blood. Presented in the video. I would say that Trandoshans and Hutts are the ones that eat other species the most. Kinda makes you wonder how species w sevierly different senses interacted w the galaxy in general. I.e. kaminoans ordered things including iirc the IR spectrum for colors (always wondered how the armor looked to them, and how useful it would be in the bigger universe. ). . The quarra had vision outside the "normal spectrum", etc. I guess from an evolutionary perspective on their planet it would make sense, but operating in a non compatible sensory environment would be a huge drag. (Another good example would be predator. The hunter had tech to make its sensory ability more useful. But take the mask off, and he had much more difficulty because it all kinda washed together. )
I won’t speculate on the science related to the Arcona, but pockets of nitrogen gas would have no appreciable affect on humans other than asphyxiation due to lack of oxygen. Earth’s atmosphere is around 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% other gasses. If nitrogen caused any issues with human physiology we would not have survived this long. Even in an atmosphere of pure nitrogen, you would only need a nasal cannula (the little tube under your nostrils) supplying oxygen to live indefinitely.

Like poor Greedo. His fate was to be shot without a second thought, his body to be turned into a juice, and to be drank by Jabba 😔 I don't know how accurate that is but I know something like that did happen.
If their body fluids are ammonia based, I can imagine what NaCl would do to them, their organs are probably highly reducing environments, which would be capable or turning the salt into sodium metal, which reacts with water to form sodium hydroxide, so it would require a lot more water while creating nucleophilic hydroxide ions changing their body chemistry
1) good video on the need for some equivalent of Star Trek's prime directive 2) never heard of the caterpillar with a difficult name species before, love it when aliens are alien. 3) Salt is a essential nutrient for humans (and presumably other species) making it much more difficult to regulate (presumably, I haven't tried) 4) you make good videos, kudos 🙂 5) didn't know that species had juice flavored blood wtf 6) one wonders how the no axial tilt thing came about
Don't be fooled people, Salt is actually addicting for humans as well. Sugar and Salt especially. Coca-Cola is FULL of salt. Coca-Cola is everywhere. Even North Korea.

The Kaleidoscope vision could be the result of their brain's visual cortex not being complex enough to integrate all the information from their compound eyes into a coherent image.
Bet we're never going to see the Duinuogwuin in any live action Star Wars movies. I'll be honest, their design doesn't really fit in with most Star Wars aliens. Obviously most people Aliens in Star Wars are humanoid, with the weirder ones having wings or more sets of arms. But these "Space Dragons" are like, centipede shaped reptilians with wings? And they can breathe out superheated gases 20 - 30 times more powerful than a turbolaser, and could individually deal damage equal to that of a Viscount-class Star Defender? They were ten meters long on average... They were believed to have internal organs that serve as repulsorlifts, and might be the more intelligent ancestors of Krayt dragons. Yeah, this is a very odd case. Definitely one of those Star Wars aliens that wouldn't have found their beginnings in any of the movies, shows or games. Stuff this weird comes from the books.
I think in terms of clone trainers they did good. All too often when training troops the primary concern is breaking them down to reforge. While I know damn well just how important this is it is worth heavy consideration as to how you reshape them and what they are to be shaped into

you brought up colocoids already, I just want to reiterate how much they loved exotic meats. hell, the CIS paid them in shipments of weird meat instead of credits sometimes.

9:00 Not gonna lie, I was expecting him to say "Psyke" and then go on to describe the Star Wars equivalent of the Anglo-Chinese Opium wars
They might be able to read by feeling the characters. Essentially their alphabet might look like braille.
Imagine an Arcona landing on Crait
Arconas bringing a whole new meaning to the word "salty"
"And everyone just laughed". I know I shouldn't laugh at the notion, but... I can't help it
Can't help but notice the similarity between the manipulation of the Arcona via salt with the Qing dynasty and opium.
Those poor guys would trip out and OD in any normal online game lobby
I would laugh at them also ngl
Kinda makes you wonder how species w sevierly different senses interacted w the galaxy in general.
I.e. kaminoans ordered things including iirc the IR spectrum for colors (always wondered how the armor looked to them, and how useful it would be in the bigger universe. ). . The quarra had vision outside the "normal spectrum", etc.
I guess from an evolutionary perspective on their planet it would make sense, but operating in a non compatible sensory environment would be a huge drag.
(Another good example would be predator. The hunter had tech to make its sensory ability more useful. But take the mask off, and he had much more difficulty because it all kinda washed together. )
I love the one in the clone wars since his voice actor is from call of duty black Ops zombies, Dr Edward Richtofen
Lol didn't know that
Love these species lore videos! Well done brother
ARE YOU THE DEREK LEE
@@samdasamoza haha depends on which Derek Lee you’re talking about
@@SyrilsCereal there was this one derek lee who used to always comment on my videos. He had a lego pfp
There are whole planets in the SW universe whose surface is entirely covered with salt.. paradise
They’d love Crait for sure.
12:53 he would of loved Margaritas
I imagine the arcona are banned from ocean planets for their own sake.
Always loved these guys; I main a Arcona in a homebrew for the Star Wars tabletop game.
Stay low sodium brother
@@MetaNerdzLore Always did; my character is the only one who hasn’t been disintegrated or been eaten by predators. Also, I stayed sober throughout all my games, yoda be proud.
"She was something…special."- Dezono Qua
Certain Human cannibals were known to roam throughout the cities and wilderness of the planet Tatooine.
Going by how common both species are, how much Hutts eat and Trandoshans hunt.
The ones getting eaten the most are Humans and Rodians, because they are one of the most common species, are rather easy to kill, and come up multiple times in my research.
Aren't the Anzati more like Force vampires? At least that's what I've heard.
@@GipsyDangerfan For this reason, Anzati go for the people with a lot of midichlorians.
@@kingagrabowska9366 Anakin no!
Like poor Greedo. His fate was to be shot without a second thought, his body to be turned into a juice, and to be drank by Jabba 😔
I don't know how accurate that is but I know something like that did happen.
@James Furey no, just no
I always loved Arcona ever since that Jedi appreciate book with Obi-Wan.
1) good video on the need for some equivalent of Star Trek's prime directive
2) never heard of the caterpillar with a difficult name species before, love it when aliens are alien.
3) Salt is a essential nutrient for humans (and presumably other species) making it much more difficult to regulate (presumably, I haven't tried)
4) you make good videos, kudos 🙂
5) didn't know that species had juice flavored blood wtf
6) one wonders how the no axial tilt thing came about
Now I want to know more about the blood juice.
Earth would be a fucking crazy trip for them the entire planet would be a dispensary to them 😂
Don't be fooled people, Salt is actually addicting for humans as well.
Sugar and Salt especially.
Coca-Cola is FULL of salt.
Coca-Cola is everywhere. Even North Korea.
Man, the Arcona really take "being Salty" to a whole new level!
Great video! Thank you! Always fun to see more info on cool alien species.
Very interesting video.
Can you make one about Clone Commandos, Jedi Temple Guard, Jedi High Council and Hera Syndulla | The Complete Life Story, please.
If juri juice really is made from Rodian blood, I guess there's more salt in there than just the rim...
I was wondering why I heard two arguing over low sodium corn chips.
With Windex on them
The Roman legion Salary was an allowance for the purchase of salt (which came in handy for preserving food on campaign, amoung other things). There's no evidence they were ever actually paid IN salt.
I started busting up when I found out the first "outlandish" SW creature presented was actually a coked-out ball-tripper. I can't watch the Cantina intro again without giggling.
Love how informal these are
How long does it take the gold eyes to turn back to green if the arcona stops eating salt?
No one:
Star Wars Authors: so this is my new species and here is a complete history of the species and way too detailed biology
Got to love it, shows that they actually take it seriously
lol
Always love the alien deep dives.
The salt must flow!
How did the clone trainer know the difference between all the clones?
I swear to God this video changed its title from "Hippie species that were made fun of" to "species that were bullied"
Or am I freakin crazy???
U on dem salt brah
My headcannon is that salt allows the Arcona to see how we see
Message from the SEA: SAY NO TO SALT!

also: WINNERS DON'T DO SALT!
Don't think you'll see/read this, but could you do a new video on the Tognath. A bunch more lore of them came out not too long ago, and they're one of my favorites.
Yeah I'll get to them some day for sure
Dude, imagine there was a Walter White type character in Star Wars, but instead of blue meth he built an empire of pink salt?
These species videos are the bestttr
I always forget that Ammonia is a compound rather than an element

Bruh I wanna know what the equivalent of starwars weed is I bet that shit hits hard af
Salt smuggling! OMG!!!!! What is the Galaxy coming to??? Ohhhhhh oh oh oh oh oh...........
One of my fav stars species from seeing the salt guy in New Hope
100% No one that made Rebels knew about the salt eyes when they designed that character
She looked like a friendly Crack addict, they probably knew. Also she might have wanted to lick him considering how salty human swet is.
Resistance you mean?
Why can nobody gain the chemistry and engineering expertise needed to synthesize salt , or how is salt so devastatingly expensive in star wars?
Huh, in health class they told us salt was more addictive than sugar...
Love your videos, so well done that I need some research pointers from you!
Can you do a video about the Duinuowuin?
I'm curious if their eyes are naturally green but turn yellow from salt addiction, then why do some have blue eyes?
Thanks for an interesting video any chance of doing one on the Amanaman?
I never excepted this random species to a video nice
Could you please do a video on the Nelvaanian species😊
Cathar and/or Herglics plz
herglics yes! would love that 😃
Just clicked on video, phone is about to die.
I think in terms of clone trainers they did good. All too often when training troops the primary concern is breaking them down to reforge. While I know damn well just how important this is it is worth heavy consideration as to how you reshape them and what they are to be shaped into
Stick and Carrot duo.
This was also the plot of that one Jackie chan movie. The water that makes you thirsty then dry up and die 😂
This is certainly one of the most interesting Star wars species.
Shrek is love, Shrek is life
Your doing the Lord's work, yung padwann
Hey, I'm watching your video on the Bith right now. I wanted to come here to tell you that your video made a great first impression on me. I think if you were to branch out into more subjects and you further refined your content, your subscriber count would double.
Thanks what do u think I should add?
Roing Industries loves doing business with Arcona.
I didn’t know they were hippies?
a simple army planet just give them salt and you have a insane army thing.
"You kids want some sodium chloride?"
Cona hahaha
Great video, but you should’ve talked about the Arcona Mineral Harvest Corporation from the Jedi Apprentice books.
The still have better eyesight than the miraluca
Notthing Disney does should ever be considered cannon.
Kind of reminds me of when the British addicted the Chinese to Opium.
The Spice Melange, must flow! 🤧
The Salt must flow !
The etymology of Salary is undisputed.
I always thought so too but there were tons of articles, one with the original Roman writer who mentioned this, I went down the wormhole and was like wait focus on the species lol. I didn't mention that and put the contrary on screen for no reason. It was about if they were just comparing the pay to the cost for salt, and/or they had to paid enough for salt at a minimum.
I honestly don't find this all that weird sadly.
There's a Terran poppy that's like opium to me.
You wanna buy some salt packets?
*You don't want to sell us salt packets.*
I don't want to sell you salt packets.

So an Arcona would get a buzz licking a human's skin?

Do arconans off planet pay to get peed on? I mean, ammonia, right?
Many chefs were... insalted?
Nice job 👍
Finally. A species that can still appreciate R Kelly
Wait till these cracked out boys find Crait😂 essentially a drug planet for them
