Any band sound in acoustic mode would just be lame without the bass- whether amplified acoustic or just electric. The sound of the instrument can still be adjusted.
Bassists have acoustic-electric bass guitars while some just sticks to their electric bass, since it really doesn't affect the sound. It is still acoustic music.
