THIS is exactly what I've been needing! Thank you so much for all of this information! We are taking our 18 month on a cruise and I've been trying to figure out how the nursery works and if we can do excursions without her. Reviews and blogs weren't telling me much and you told me everything I need to know!
Glad it was helpful! Definitely reserve your nursery time on the first day, embarkation day, and if it doesn’t work out, the open play is the best option for everyone! I loved taking my kiddos here before dinner time too. Then they’re good and hungry and will sit down to eat. Then we can get a few minutes of quiet time eating.
Great review! I’m enjoying all the little jokes you add in. Very funny 😅! The play area was a definite perk to this ship for the little ones. It’s a safe area for them to roam instead of at the pool, in the room, or around the ship. I’m glad to see there was a worker cleaning the toys occasionally to keep the germs down. Royal was pretty concerned about my child’s well being on the ship each drop off which gave me comfort.
Yes!!! We love RC because of how and baby friendly they are compared to other cruise lines! You are right! There was a time they kicked us out of the PLAY area so they can sanitize. We didn't mind it at all and my toddler was very understanding as well. The glass doors can get very dirty, from the video segment I had at the end 😅
Glad it was helpful! Definitely don’t forget to reserve all your time slots for the nursery, the first day, if you plan on dropping your toddler off. You can always cancel them but trying to reserve them, they could be full during the cruise.
Thank you for the amazing video! I like to know that my children will be in good hands. And you have given me plenty of notice to hurry up and potty train my 2 year old before he turns 3 next year as we are going on our cruise next year October 😅
That’s great news! My toddler was not fully potty trained and being vocal, in letting us know when he needed to go. We always had to take him to go potty before and after activities. I would also advise to have him wear the elastic shorts/pants for easy pull up and pull down when you drop him off. That way it’s easier for them and they don’t have to deal with buttons, zippers, drawstrings, or hooks when they need to go potty.
Great video very concise. While there information is all online I don’t know how they made the information so hard to find on the website it’s also worth noting that the oasis class ships have a climbing structure on the boardwalk to get the energy out of the
Thanks for the great video! Do you know in the babies area is the crib section is dark and quiet so they can sleep? Or is it lights on and other kids playing near by? Is daytime different than night?
I don't know their schedule but there were times during the day when the lights were off and in the evening hours, they were mainly off. The television was always on, playing Cocomelon or Simple Songs for example. The nursery was never quiet but kiddos were able to fall asleep.
Loved your review! One question - did you find that there was capacity issues for your toddler in the adventure club? Limited space? I know you said he didn't use it a lot, but did you see anyone turned away? We are booked for next year and wondering if we will have any issues or if we can bank on the time slots being available. Thanks!
When we went the week after Thanksgiving, we didn’t have capacity issues but I would definitely anticipate there would be issues in the summer, spring break, and holiday months. Basically, the time when kids are out of school I would feel there would be limited space. I didn’t see any 3-5 yr olds turned away, but did see some babies turned away, because I was one of them 😭 but we made the best of it and the day I really needed to have my baby watched was on a port day. So it was great that I had first dibs, to reserve with Adventure Ocean, because I had an excursion with RC.
Yes, you are! However, they do require that they watch you kiddos a few hours a day or few days before you exit the ship for excursions, to see how they will be without you.
Thank you! I thought you weren’t allowed off without them so that opens up the opportunity to do excursions I didn’t think we could. Thanks! …of course there’s still this intrusive thought of what if we somehow didn’t make it back to the ship and it took off with our kid and not us 🤦♀️ I’m ignoring that thought 😜
Carnival has daycare for kids 2-11. Camp Ocean can and will change their diapers if needed, until age 6 and over. Then they will call the phone for parents to come and change their kiddos. That option is for children delayed or special needs. However, none of Carnival’s ships have swim diaper friendly splash pads like RC. Carnival does have some hours for drop in daycare for under 2, but those hours vary on the ship and cost extra ($8-$9/hr per child). NCL has childcare for 3+ and children must be potty trained.
hi i have twins under 2 my question is can we drop them off for the whole day through our cruise if we book ahead ( like book ahead of time our time ) ? or is it like max hours a child has etc was it hard to reserve a spot ?
There is no option to book ahead. The best way to get your time slots booked would be on embarkation day, the day you get on the ship. This was my priority to finish their check in and secure my time slots as well. Hours open for registration were 1:30-4:30 pm and 7:30-10 pm, embarkation day. There is no childcare for the whole day like daycare. I do have the hours for Royal Babies & Tots at 1 minute and 41 seconds, in the video (1:41). It was hard to reserve a spot in the middle of the week because it was full. So definitely have an idea of what days and times you want to drop your twins. I do not know if there were max hours for a child.
So if i understand correctly, aquanauts is only for dropping your kid of, you can't stay with here during the activities? Because my 3 year old don't speak any english so I don't think she will be comfortable alone. Is there alot to do together with a 3 year old? I'm looking to have a vacation with her so I don't really feel the need to hand her of. (No shame on those who do though, we have done that kind of vacation too)
Lots of activities on the Oasis and Quantum class ships. Go on the ships that have the Open Play Room or Play Area. ROYAL CARIBBEAN'S ALLURE of the SEAS, BABY & TODDLER ACTIVITIES th-cam.com/video/bAhfrC-wj2M/w-d-xo.html
When my kiddo was 3 and we were potty training but not fully potty trained, I took him to potty at least twice before dropping him off. I also paid attention to when he would need to go number 2 and if he didn’t then I wouldn’t take him to camp. I also brought probiotics for the whole family too.
No. Just have your room card on you for check in and check out at all times. They do ask for diapers, wipes, extra clothes, milk, and snacks if possible. You will get a phone too.
This is exactly the video I was looking for! Thank you for the information!
So glad it was helpful!

I loved the playroom for them, in case you couldn’t tell 😆
Soooo coool. We thank you for this insight 😁🙂🫡

Do other cruise lines besides Royal have daycare for kiddos under 3?

I just want to ask, did you also give them tips aside from their hourly rate?
It's a personal choice for everyone and I did.
So if you have a3 year old that isn't potty trained what do you do, other then getting them potty trained?
When my kiddo was 3 and we were potty training but not fully potty trained, I took him to potty at least twice before dropping him off. I also paid attention to when he would need to go number 2 and if he didn’t then I wouldn’t take him to camp. I also brought probiotics for the whole family too.
Did you need any specific documents or vaccine records to drop babies off?
No. Just have your room card on you for check in and check out at all times. They do ask for diapers, wipes, extra clothes, milk, and snacks if possible. You will get a phone too.
