    This was such a clear and concise video, and worked like a charm.
    We had followed another video first and the vinyl cushion came out Horrible.
    My friend and I watched your video and you made it look so easy. By working in smaller sections it made the vinyl much more manageable to work with. BTW our cushions came out Fantastic!

    Thanks, this is exactly what I needed to redo very similar bar stools. I see that the trick to making them look really good is to use a lot of staples. Also, the best tip was to use another bar stool as a staging area!

    • @mywithallmyart

    • @mywithallmyart
      @mywithallmyart  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My bar stool seat is 20 inches across. I cut a 23 inch circle. So measure across yours and add 3 inches total. I hope that helps

    Thank you for the video. I have 3 stools I need to recover. How much fabric would you need? Would 5 yards be sufficient? Thanks.

    • @mywithallmyart
      @mywithallmyart  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would think 5 yards is plenty. Depends on the measurements of your stools. Measure from one side to the other, add 2 to 3 inches to each side for turn under. The other consideration is the width of the fabric. And unless the seats are larger than 36" wide (which would be some really large seats) 5 yards is more than enough.

  • @lynnandgaryryan5093
    @lynnandgaryryan5093 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi, thanks for the video! Q. You cut to pieces of fabric; do you use both for one stool? Also, what kind of fabric is best to use? Thanks so much for your help!!

    • @mywithallmyart
      @mywithallmyart  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I cut one for each stool. It was easier for me to cut them at the same time. The fabric choice depends on the amount of use your stool will get. I used an upholstery vinyl that was strong but pliable. Some vinyl, like for boat seats, was to stiff for the look and feel that I was going for. You can use upholstery fabric or a cotton duck cloth.

    This is such a helpful video, thank you so much! I have 2 thrifted counter stools with cane-covered swivel seats. Can I use your technique, but with fabric or faux fur? Should I leave the cane as is or maybe add a thin batting?

    • @mywithallmyart
      @mywithallmyart  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can use fabric or faux fur. Just make sure the fabric is not too lightweight to accommodate the use. Also, if the cane is in good shape you can leave it and add batting or upholstery foam. If you use batting cut it just a bit bigger to soften the edge. I hope this help and makes sense.

    • @BethKiesel3n1
      @BethKiesel3n1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mywithallmyart thank you for your prompt reply! I was thinking of using an upholstery fabric, or heavy cotton/canvas. The cane itself is broken in places, and tbh, rather scratchy to sit on. The backs have the same cane as an insert, but I'll probably just leave them as is. I'm not sure how I'd remove them anyway. Thanks again for your help!

    If there are three small tears (.5 in) in the existing pleather can you still redo over it?

    • @mywithallmyart
      @mywithallmyart  ปีที่แล้ว

      It might depend on the amount of wear the seat will get. But I think it would probably be fine. If the original cover is fabric, you might put a couple of stitches just to secure it. I hope this make sense.
