HBS is flexible with recommender selection - you can choose a professor, but it is important that the prof be able to speak to your specific experience. So, a prof simply saying that you were in her class and performed well is not terribly helpful to you! If you did research for your prof, or the class was participation-based and she got to know your personality or she supervised your undergrad thesis or... you get the point! Your prof still need to write a recommendation that captures who you are - if you have a professional rec from an internship then more often than not, we would suggest that supervisor. That said, there are always exceptions...
