Shados say his steering was fine and then saying it wasn't. reminded me of the skit in "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" were "Blinkin" (who blind) falls to the ground after being on the watch tower looking out for villians, then says he can see, then crash into the tree and then say, nope, i was wrong.
