  • On March 25, 2022, Keith Albertson and David Brandt - producers on "Problem Solved: The IISE Podcast" - took a behind-the-scenes tour of Kennedy Space Center in central Florida. They visited several sites around the Kennedy campus and chatted with NASA systems engineers working on various tasks at the space agency.
NASA’s crawler-transporter is a 6.6-million pound hauler built in the early 1960s to carry rockets to the launch pad. The CT-2 has been upgraded to handle the new Space Launch System, the most powerful rocket ever built, used by the Artemis program to return to the moon. IISE staff were granted a behind-the-scenes tour of the vehicle in March, just a week after it transported the SLS to Launch Pad 39B for its first round of testing.

I'd rather tour the crawler instead of the VAB any day!
