I bought PBF at arround $7.5 (03/23/2020). I sold it after a 100% return (grahamian move). Don't look at the chart now. It was my best lesson about DON'T CUT THE FLOWERS.
Big on OXY since last summer and the thesis is a supply shortage at some point. Vicki Hollub is predicting next year as US shale has been carrying worldwide oil production growth for the last 10 years and it’s starting to plateau while shale wells output declines very fast. All the basins other than the Permian have been in decline for some years now and once the Permian starts to roll over this US production boom should end. There is however still plenty of oil in the Permian, which Oxy is one of the best positioned. Recession or not, worldwide demand of oil will continue to go up and even a 1-2% decline in supply is enough to send prices soaring. The lack of investment due to the fear of EV’s could keep this going for 5, 6+ years. That is base case which doesn’t even factor in war, Russian oil falling further off the map or any other craziness. Long Oxy!
Not even mentioning their carbon recapture projects and synergies between different parts of the business. Multi bagger potential.
OXY is not a 10X , it is more of a higher yielding bond
Zillow is down because that lawsuit against the real estate industry could wipe out a significant source of revenue

I think technology will be the biggest driver in the economy in the future. So, understanding these impacts will provide the best investment results. I don't think Warren Buffet's expertise is in technology, so I'm ok with mostly ignoring what he's buying and selling.
I think real estate agents are going to be phased out by Zillow…
